Terrible patient support

Two and a half years ago I bought the comfort fit dentures with a 7 year warranty. On May 24 my lower denture fractured in two. Since it was a holiday weekend I wasn't able to make an appointment to be seen until May 28th. At that time they told me it was not repairable since it was digitally printed. They told me it would take 4 days to print a new lower and rescheduled me for June 4th. About 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment I was called and informed that there had been communication issues with the lab tech who had asked for more information and there were delays getting information back and forth and that my dentures were NOT ready and wouldn't be ready now until June 12. This means I remain on a liquid diet for another week. Total lack of concern for their patient's well being. I will be seeking dental care elsewhere in the future!

Now on June 11th I have been notified that it is still not ready with no repair date in sight. I have been left with no recourse other than to file a breach of contract in court for failing to honor the warranty in a timely fashion.

Broken Tooth Escape

1. Needed a Friday appointment for a broken tooth, whose sharp edges were slicing up my tongue. Best they could do was a Monday appointment. The dentist extrapolated the immediate problem to a 3-crown bridge for more than $5000. She absolutely refused to grind down the sharp edges, claiming that merely touching the tooth root with her drill would expose the tooth nerve and cause terrible additional pain. Extracting the root was her solution, but she couldn't do it that day, as nobody told her to "assemble her team." For thousands of years, people have done extractions by themselves, so the Aspen dentist's need for a team does not reflect favorably on her competence. Too many red flags for me, so I walked out.
2. Found a real dentist the next day, who ground away the edges just as I wanted -- huge relief for my tongue, no exposed nerves, no new pain. He explained the decay in the tooth root, and put me on a week's antibiotics before the extraction == things the Aspen dentist never mentioned at all. The real dentist confirmed the need for the bridge, but charges a quarter of the Aspen price.
3. Interesting that an American-born woman cl 25 claimed to be in charge of the entire AspenDental clinic, whose dentists were all twice her age, and who all seemed to be foreign born. Makes me wonder how many of these dentists overstayed their visas, so are working cheap for this scam operation to avoid being deported.

One of the worst decisions ive ever made

Aspen dental waterbury worst experience ever people are nice enough no one in particular just the lack of proffesionalism one of the appointment makers litteraly tried giving me medical advise rude spoke disrespectfully very ghetto. The oral surgery was like i was on a assembly line maybe dont schedual 5 surgeries in a row when the oral sugeon (use the term loosely) is there once a month rude didnt say anything very very unproffesional. 2 weeks later i took my sister to oral surgeon through her dentist how amazing they were. I went to aspen because they said the day i got my teeth pulled i would have teeth. Well needless to say ive lost 30lbs in 3months(probably a good thing) but that should be my decision not aspen dentals seeing i still dont have teeth. Im trying to set a appt. To get my permanent dentures they were supposed to call me back its been 2hrs plus see if they call by end of business 13,000$ later and i am so disappointed have no top teeth hopefully they will pull through in the end i do not have any faith tho ty do not use aspen!!!!!!!!!

If I could give a no star I would .they really take advantage of people especially if your old...I save for five years out of my disability and I took them $7,500..my insurance paid $2,000. All was done was my teeth got pulled and I got temporary dentures that's big and ugly..They told me wait 6months until I heal to finish the process..and when u come back you'll owe $5,000 and your insurance will pay $3,000 of that leaving you with about $2,000 more out of pocket.....now my gums are healed they can't find the rite paperwork after 4 different hired since then...now I owe $9,000 more dollars......the only thing done so far is that my teeth were pulled and some ugly temporary dentures that don't fit....what happened to my money......that say I used it...where...they just took my money now every one is playing dumb...plus I did all my paperwork a month before my procedure....and when I was in the chair laid all the way back and had got numb up and groggy they brought me more papers to sign...who does that to a senior..

Not the docs not the assistants the…

Not the docs not the assistants the office people are terrible. I paid last year 6k with my insurance to have my top teeth extracted and my bottoms filled. Everything went ok until a few days ago. When I went back in for my very last filling that I paid for they said ahh its to far gone we have to extract it. Im thinking ok im owed for a filling so just fold that into a extraction and sedation. Ok the lady in the back office tells me she get her calculator and says 150 190 or something and i said cool schedule it and she did. Well comes the time for my extraction and i have nobody to pick me up because u cant be sedated and drive home. So i called and left a message to reschedule. Well i never herd back. So i go back in to reschedule and pay for the procedure. I sit down with a guy and he says 690 or something like that. And me in pain just paid and said ill deal with this later just figuring that this guy didnt see that i had been owed a filling and they would straighten this out later. Noooooope wrooong. My fiance called to see what was going on with all this and she gets told ohh ur insurance isn't in our network and nobody told u 100 something for the extraction after the filling u were owed. And they told me my insurance wasn't in network and i got emails from them that my insurance isn't in their Network and I got a text that says my insurance isn't in their Network which is all lies because I got nothing from anyone at aspen saying anything. It sucks because the girls in the back are awesome all the assistants all the doctors are cool as hell but these secretary people in the front office people that are supposed to be keeping you informed of this stuff arent and instead of admitting fault they will blame you for something that you supposedly did that you didn't do that you didn't see.

Horrible service!!

Horrible service!!! The assistants are unaware of customer consideration. Very bad attitudes. I complained about having issues with the tooth exam equipment used to "fit in" my mouth. I said that it hurt my mouth. The first assistant, yanked the device out, left without saying a word. Sucked her teeth and left without saying a word, the second assistant shoved this device for x-rays back in to my mouth. No apology. Removed the device and told me she was through with me, She can't help me I then told her I would be reporting the issue. She gave me her first name. Said see ya. !

I would recommend staying away from…

I would recommend staying away from Aspen. I was seen there today and was given a treatment plan. They retrieved my insurance benefits information and basically wanted to charge me for numerous things out of pocket. Specifically they wanted $200 out of my pocket FOR A CLEANING! I have great dental benefits and cleanings are always covered 100% regardless of the type of cleaning. They wanted the payment on the spot immediately just to schedule the cleaning. Then they wanted nearly $1,200 out of my pocket for a full upper denture. I went home and called my insurance company and verified which Aspen I went to. My insurance company said my out of pocket was $0 for ALL cleanings regardless of type and even verified with procedure code that yes it was fully covered. My insurance company was absolutely astonished to the point that a supervisor called me back. The insurance company supervisor verified that yes I was at an in-network dental office and that I seen the right dentist at the office. I was told by my insurance company that I have $0 out of pocket cost for VIRTUALLY EVERYTHING including cleanings, xray, root canals, crowns, dentures, extractions, fillings, oral cancer screening (which they also tried to charge me out of pocket for) and that my insurance covers implants and implant related items/procedures. All $0 up to $4,500 yearly. I called Aspen back and told them what my insurance said and that my insurance was offering to call the office to verify this and the front desk lady told me it didn't matter what my insurance said and I called my insurance back again and they were appalled by what Aspen was trying to do. My insurance told me under no circumstances should I give them ANY money up to $4,500. I was then advised by insurance to not go back to Aspen and they found me a new dentist even closer to my home and verified with the new dentist on procedure codes and new dental office said yes $0 out of pocket for ANYTHING up to $4,500. My insurance company took many notes and I don't know what my insurance plans on doing but as I said they were appalled that in network Aspen was charging money for covered procedures that they knew were covered. Something wrong is going on at Aspen and they're skimming money from patients that should have no out of pocket cost up to my $4,500. ASPEN IS A SCAM!! Do not go there under any circumstances and know your benefits when you walk in cause they will scam you. I am disabled on SSDI and they committed a crime by trying to scam a disabled person out of money. AVOID ASPEN ESPECIALLY THE HAMILTON/FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP OHIO LOCATION!!

Warranty only good at office you got the dentures

So my wife got a set of dentures 2 yrs ago . We got the most expensive ones because of the 7 year warranty. They were like $8000 .She had them done in High Point ,NC so we a=have since moved and live in Denton now. Asheboro,NC is the closest to us. She went there cause a tooth fell out and needed a reline. Asheboro office would not honor the warranty and said she would have to pay or go back to High Point,NC for f=warranty service... Is this place not a franchise? What if we lived in Florida would we have to go back to Aspen Dental there for service?? We are not happy and I will make sure everyone knows about this

Worst Dentist office ever

Everyone at the office was rude. They were offensive, and then set me up with the office manager who gave me a quote upwards of 15,000. They obviously have a system like a car lot, the hygienist and dentist set you up and the office manager gives you a figure that includes everything they can put in. They use scare tactics to make you believe your teeth will fall out if you don't do what they say. Immoral and a horrible franchise.

Don’t lie to me

I have been debating on writing this, but it’s been eating at me for over a year. It started down hill when I got my temporary caps on 2 bottom front teeth, they were hideous and I have pictures. Then I went back and the dentist said my permanent set should be there, because she said they told her they were shipped, they looked for 20-30 min. We were standing in the hallway and another lady asked what she was looking for and she told her she was looking for my dentures, that’s when she said, those haven’t been made yet, remember we had to change labs. I said you lied to me, I left and have not been back, and that woman will never touch my mouth again. I’m sure this will probably fall on deaf ears, but hopefully it will make me feel better. I’m currently looking for a new dentist, because my teeth don’t fit very well now.

Surprise Billing beware

I had severe tooth decay between my teeth that the only solution was to remove all my teeth (20) and replace them with dentures.
On 27 Jan 2025 I visited Aspen Dental Yulee, Fl for a x-ray and dental exam. The dentist told me all my teeth had to be removed and agreed on dentures. After meeting with the dentist I was told to see the business manager for the cost. The dental plan was over $12,000. II told the business manager that I could not afford that amount. The dental plan had no value for discount coupon, despite there website advertisement stating 25% off dentures. I asked if the had senior citizen discount or veteran discount, and the answer was no. My insurance would pay $2500 and she applied an insurance discount of over $6000 leaving a balance over $3500. I still said that I am on a fixed income and did not have the money. She said do not worry she had applied for Credit Card and they will loan the me $3000 at $88 per month for 3 years. I had been in a lot of pain in the last month and this looked like the best deal. I paid the balance with my debit card and my dental plan had a balance of zero. Two day later I had my teeth extracted and was fitted with temporary dentures. I went home and several hours later the Novocain wore off the dentures rubbed against my gum and cause pain that I had to take the dentures. My gums were swollen, still bleeding and had either bone or tooth protruding through the gum in several location. I waited a week to go back for the free adjustment but was told that I owed an additional $3178 and I could not get the adjustments unless the balance was paid in full. I did not have the money for this surprise bill and left the office. I have tried several times to talk with the business manager by phone and in person but she has not been available, returned my phone calls not set an appointment to discuss the outstanding balance. In March I received a Summary of Activity stating I owed $3178 and this was the final notice.
I did not know what to do. How can Aspen Dental charge me when I have a dental plan that showed a zero balance. The bill I received did not match the amounts as listed in the dental plan.
Upon a detail inspector of the dental plan I was charged $800 each for top and lower dentures to upgrade from classic to signature dentures. This was not explained in detail when the dental plan was presented.
I found out later that the basic dentures upper and lower each cost at Aspen Dental was $452 but I was quoted the basic dentures upper and lower each were $1749.
Classic dentures on Aspen Dental website was being offered at a 25% discount and so was the signature dentures. But no such discount included my dental plan.

Also I was billed for a tooth extraction for tooth that was a post and crown. I am sure the cost to remove the crown is not the same as a tooth extraction.
I realize now that I had been duped into signing a dental plan that had a zero balance only to charge me an additional $3,178 after all my teeth had been extracted. I think this is a unfair business practice, is illegal.
As of today I cannot wear the dentures, I still have round white bumps on my gums with either bone or tooth protruding. I used all my insurance dental insurance for 2025 and have to wait until next year to find a dentist to determine the damage that was done to my gums and to be fitted with new pair of dentures.

Front desk staff are incompetent and rude

Their staff, not the doctor or the hygienist but the office staff is AWFUL. Every time I go in Savannah who works at the front desk is exceptionally rude to me, for no reason. I’ve complained twice. Today Melissa, called me back after I left a complaint and told me I was lying about my experience. They gaslight you because they are incompetent at their jobs (being kind). Don’t go here, at least to the Ithaca office if you want to be treated kindly, or even with an ounce of customer service.

Their negligence has led to a root canal

A dentist at an Aspen Dental in Mount Pleasant, SC filled a cavity on the cusp of my tooth without fully excavating & disinfecting the decay. I trusted him but turns out, bc of his negligence, I now need a root canal. I've also come to learn the filled cavity needed a crown the whole time. My new dentist is reporting them to the ADA. Only go here if you want improper and incomplete treatment for $$$$.

This is a horrible place

This is a horrible place. Unprofessional and a total waste of time. DO NOT GO TO THESE BUTCHERS. ALL THEY ARE AFTER IS YOUR MONEY. Worthless people with no professionalism. I would NEVER recommend this place or would I ever go back to this place. They are overpriced and only after money. Go see a real dentist not this conveyer belt of broken promises.

Their policies are not the same from office to office. One office tries to charge you for a crown in addition to the root canal ahead of time and another office is willing to split it up. Inconsistency, over priced and undervalued service. Would never recommend this service and will continue to spread my dissatisfaction across every review site I find on a daily basis. This company should be investigated for fraud. and shut down permanently.

Went in with a tooth ache

Went in with a tooth ache. They did x-rays and found a tooth that needed to be removed. After sitting in a room for about thirty minutes+, I was told that the cost was going to be $981 after my insurance paid $800 for cleaning and extraction of the tooth. I would warn anyone that is thinking about going to Aspen Dental to go elsewhere. This place is not what they play themselves up to be!! Definitely not affordable.

An Aspen Dental bad experience

I went to Aspen Dental close to 8 years ago. I think I went in because I chipped a front tooth, or maybe just to have my teeth cleaned. A dentist recommended putting a crown on my front tooth, and I agreed. A temp crown was put on and then a regular crown put on, which lasted perhaps 4 years before coming off. I was shocked to see that this tooth had been ground down even with my gums. I then went to a dentist near my hometown for a replacement crown, however, this only lasted maybe 2 years before it came off. I went back to this dentist to have it recemented and then went again when this came off and got another crown that came off later. Then, this dentist's office told me that they no longer covered my insurance plan, so I returned to Aspen Dental. A dentist there told me a couple of minutes after she recemented my tooth back in that the cement wasn't holding, so she was going to use a temporary cement and set me up to rework my stub for another crown. (My crown came back off within 2 weeks.) Next, I was shown a plan for around $12,000 of work to be done. I then went to another dentist because I did not think I should be paying for a new crown every 2 years or so. The next dentist I went to was afraid to do a root canal to build the stub back up because there was too little left to work with and that my best option was for an implant, which I could not afford. Now, I am stuck with no front tooth.
I do not know the exact dates for these experiences.
