Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 228 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people felt the company was primarily focused on money, often pushing expensive procedures and upselling services, leading to misleading pricing and unexpected, significantly higher costs than initially quoted. Customer service was frequently criticized for being unhelpful, with issues like long wait times, billing department problems, and a perceived lack of concern for patient pain. However, some customers noted positive interactions with staff, describing them as nice, compassionate, and professional. A few also found specific dentists provided excellent care, explaining procedures well and leading to satisfactory outcomes. Additionally, some appreciated convenient scheduling and quick service for extractions or denture adjustments.

All these people are out for is money

All these people are out for is money. They're not really trying to help people. They try to hook you into signing a VERY expensive careplan and won't treat you unless you agree to it--i.e., the ENTIRE PLAN. Quick I'm thinking means they try to make you finish the work whether you can afford to or not. Bottom line: It's a hustle. I wouldn't recommend ANYONE to go there!

I got an appointment. They texted me one day later and rescheduled the appointment. Set up another appointment and they texted me again, one day after calling me and confirming my appointment to reschedule again. I canceled the appointment. Horrible business. Don't use in Columbus,In.

My Wife and I went to Aspen Dental in Marquette Mi. for each of us to have new dentures, my Wife is 79 years old and I`m now 80 years old this would be our third set of dentures threw our life. The staff where all very nice and treated you well but the finished product is terrible, we have sores, rough upper plate my bottom plate on the right side is too thick on that side and my upper on that side is too long, I cannot remember how many times we went back for adjustments, we live 100 miles from Marquette and some of the times had to get a motel due to our age but the last three times we had to drive back and forth because money was getting very tight. We now have to wait at least a year to save money for new dentures again, being on a fixed income is tough. I would not recommend this place to no one.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. I made an appointment for my son and I a few weeks ago. They hounded me for my info to complete prior to the appointment with deadlines, asking for multiple confirmations for the appointments which now, in hindsight, I should have realized was a red flag. I complied with all of those things. Today I got a phone call 1 hour before our appointments were set to begin at an office that’s about 40 minutes from our home (I was en route) telling me my sons insurance is stating he is ineligible. I found this to be absolutely absurd given all of the correspondence between them and I over the last few weeks, but I stated I would call them back with info. Before I could even return the phone call I get a call from someone different in the office telling me they have to cancel my appointment for an “emergency”. I absolutely cannot believe how unprofessional this company is. I got told by multiple people they were awful, but I like to see things for myself. I won’t be making that mistake again. If you’re looking for a reliable company I implore you to seek care elsewhere. I took off today for these dental appointments and have wasted a day I could have spent doing something fun with my children for this nonsense.

This was at Aspen dental office Pottstown PA

BAD DENTIST DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO THIS GOLD-DIGGING DENTIST …

Today 07/02/2026 I went for my first visit here. I arrived at 4:15pm due to appointment being at 4:30pm. Sat there for over an hour and I had to ask the girls at the front desk about how much longer I needed to wait and letting them know I have been sitting there for over an hour. Got called back and still wasn't seen until 5:35pm. Didn't do anything really and charged my insurance $107.00 for an exam that didn't happen. I will be returning to my old dentist don't care if they no longer take my insurance. Aspen DENTAL is a major joke and just out for people's money. I told the dentist that I'll be leaving a bad review.

Scamming old people

Scamming old people! Can’t say anything good about Aspen. My 86 year old mother went in for a routine cleaning which is what she asked for and they did some other kind of cleaning for 10 times the price. They checked her insurance and estimated her out of pocket cost to be around $80. They then sent her a bill for over $1,400.00 for a cleaning ! Preying on the elderly is about as low as a company can go.

Absolutely horrifying experience after…

Absolutely horrifying experience after years of being a patient here.
I came in for tooth pain, and was told I need one wisdom tooth removed. They prescribed me ibuprofen and antibiotics before the procedure. I had to call twice to make sure the prescription was sent through days later and when it was, it was sent to the incorrect pharmacy. Not reassuring for my upcoming procedure.
I was called before the procedure to confirm the appointment, I answered and confirmed and said I had a few questions about the upcoming procedure. I asked if I needed to fast beforehand and any other preparations I needed to take before the surgery since it wasn’t covered when I paid for everything upfront. They said I don’t need to fast and that was it.
The day of, after waiting for an hour, they come in with giant needles to numb. As I’m shaking and gripping the chair in horrid pain the doctor says “you’ll hear some cracking as the bone breaks” as they start the procedure. Already in a panic I asked “wasn’t there supposed to be sedation for this procedure?!” They said, “no, you never asked for that. We don’t even do that here.”
I explained how that was not described when I paid for the procedure. The receptionist didn’t confirm any further details when I inquired about the appointment. I explained in a panic that none of this was explained and I never would have agreed to the procedure with only local anesthetic; ESPECIALLY after the horrific pain they just put me through.
In pain, as half my face is becoming numb, they say, “okay we’ll have to reschedule”. Left shaking without my phone or husband, as we thought this would be a longer procedure and he could pick me up shortly, the entire staff started complaining that I “thought wrong”.
I was then escorted, into the same office where I first paid for the procedure up front, with the same exact person who proceed the transaction the first time. As I was shaking she gave me a paper with a recommendation for an oral surgeon. After a long pause I had to ASK about my refund for today’s visit since I am not having that procedure done. Then she began to pull up my information. As I sat there in shock I asked if I could also cancel my upcoming appointments later the next month and do the entire refund altogether while I process what just happened.
INSTANTLY the mood changed. Short “yes” or “no” responses only. Not a single apology or acknowledgement of the miscommunication and visible shock I was in shock as half my face was still going numb. She said it was done and nothing more as I walked outside with my husband crying in confusion and pain.
I’m truly shocked most by the absolute lack of compassion. I understand that not all professions teach communication skills and de-escalation techniques, but to see someone crying, gripping the chair until their knuckles are white, shaking, and asking questions for clarification and to dismiss everything and tell them to simply reschedule elsewhere is borderline cruel.
I’ve even been spending weeks convincing my husband, who doesn’t like dentists, that he should make an appointment since I’ve been going here for years. Imagine the horror in his face seeing my once reassured self walking with my head down in tears nearly unable to speak after this incomplete “procedure”.
I truly hope communication and compassion are introduced into this workplace for the sake of future patients.

This was the only place would take my insurance so I traveled 2hrs one way. Having all 4 front teeth capped they made me prepay half. Then would not do the work unless I had other work done first. Had me take elec toothbrush saying it was free but then charged me. Getting me to agree to purchase a mouthwash then tell me it's poison don't swallow it. Refused to do further business and asked for refund but they only gave me a partial and no explanation. Said would refund rest but only if I signed a contract committing tax fraud so I refused. Then went to another dentist closer not covered by insurance and still was half the cost of Aspen Grand Island. Many other billing problems and lies not bothering with here.

I had an emergency broken tooth on a…

I had an emergency broken tooth on a Saturday. I called the number on the website thinking I was calling the local office, but I got a nice lady in a central office somewhere. She sent me to the local office, when I got there the door was closed and locked and there was no one in the building and no note or sign on the door so I called her back. The local office did call and leave a message on my phone that they were not there. The nice lady tried to help me by making an appointment with another office a long way away. I drove there and when I got there they didn't have a record of my appointment, but were kind enough to see me anyway. They recommended an implant, which I thought was awfully expensive but agreed with. The nice lady had made an appointment for me at my local office for Monday, but when I got there they had no record of the appointment being made. They shoehorned me in. The dentist I spoke with did not want to do an implant. He did not want to do anything about my missing tooth, but he did want to pull several teeth, do root canals on other and keep me in the dental chair for my remaining days. He was too dense to realize I had a regular dentist that was aware of the condition of my mouth and was treating it in a different way than he was used to. Since I wouldn't let him do what he wanted he refused to treat me and had the receptionist tell me that if I wanted an implant go back to the dentist (many miles away) that recommended it. This dentist was totally focused on his needs and uncaring about mine and obviously unable to think logically. The staff was friendly and nice.

Would Not Recommend for Anything

My friend had an urgent need due to a broken tooth and was experiencing a lot of pain. The office in Anderson couldn't see her until July 15th but she went online and scheduled with the Taylors office for 2:00pm today only to be called by the Taylors office and told they would not do anything for her today because she has that appointment scheduled on the 15th. Are you kidding me? Cancel the appointment on the 15th and help her today. Your website listed the 2:00 appointment and allowed her to book it. Explain why you wouldn't help her? Your website advertises Urgent Care and WALK INS available but you turned away someone with an urgent need. I don't get it. Are you not in business to help people? There is no logical explanation as to why you would not see this patient at a time that your website advertised was available. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You got one star because it wouldn't allow me to post with zero.

so very kind, caring and welcoming

everyone and i literally mean everybody from the front desk staff to the dental assistants and hygienist to the doctor herself was excellent, friendly, helpful, caring and compassionate. very professional but not in any way cold, indifferent or merely clinical. they all treat you like you are a very special person indeed, and that significantly increased my personal comfort level which is generally very low when i leave my home due to my agoraphobia. they definitely helped in so many ways from keeping me calm and comfortable while i waited for the dentist in the chair for quite a while, so long that the novacain wore off before she returned to the room to fill my cavities, to allaying my fears by giving me complete and thorough explanations about what was going to be done during a deep cleaning of my teeth and gums to explaining about their care credit program and plan to assist with my financial concerns since i am on a fixed budget. the only issue that came up during this entire two-week experience was when i realized that it was not until after i had about $3,000 worth of dental work done that they decided to inform me that the severe pain in my mouth was caused by irritated gums which could be healed by rinsing with warm salt water 6-8x per day! i don't regret getting the deep cleaning or having the two cavities filled at a premium price of about $300 PER filling to see if that would relieve the pain, which neither procedure helped in the least to alleviate the extreme discomfort. it just felt strange to me that they did not notice that during the initial examination and x-rays phase of the process. but, as i said when i left the office in clifton, nj yesterday, i never thought i would say this, but everything was excellent and i had a great time at aspen dental!

Listen Up Everyone…

Listen Up Everyone…. do not send yourself or any of your loved ones to Aspen Dental. The office is a cash crop. They bill insurance companies for services you don’t even receive. And not to mention how there billing department is the absolute worst! I called the billing department and the representative told me that they bill for over 1000 offices so they are behind in their billing. One of my claims was filed a year later after the service so of course my insurance company is denying it and Aspen dental had us pay fully out-of-pocket at time of service based on getting a refund once they collected from Insurance. The regional manager won’t even return my call. Please take my advice and run far from this place.

This place was awful

This place was awful!
First I used my one visit for 6 months. To get a filling and cleaning. They left the numbing stuff on my gum too long and it caused a huge blister. They refused to acknowledge any responsibility the next day.
They refused to give me my regular cleaning even though I’d had my teeth cleaned 5 months earlier. Said I needed a deep cleaning at $1200 also $5000 worth of dental work. That I didn’t need.
Lastly my filling fell out after 2 months. I would never go back to them again. They are only out to get as much money as they can and don’t care about you at all!

ONLY AFTER MONEY NOT HELPING PEOPLE.

Went to this dental office with my records as a new patient.. My dentist retired who installed my implants. Was told by the Beaumont and Port Arthur locations they only work on their implants. These people had no heart. I had no dentist but instead of helping they blew me off. All that matters to them is money not really helping people. Their commercials are bogus. They are only after money. Don’t use them. Listened to two people asking why they owed more than quoted. Their statement they are affordable is a scam!

I would only recommend Aspen dental to my enemies. Felt like I was on a robotic assembly line. Most of the staff was uncaring, uneducated, offered very little information about caring for dentures and my gums. Had to rely on the internet for dentures care. Considering I had 15 teeth pulled, the dentures were put in right away. This led to sores on my cheeks & gums which I still have after 3 weeks. I still cannot wear my lower dentures because of a bone spur in my lower jaw. Employee said "it will just have to work it's way out. I'm in pain, I can't wear my dentures and no-one at Aspen is concerned. They have my money now so they dont, care. The scheduling was the only convenient aspect of my business with Aspen. I recommend that people looking for dentures from a dentist, shop somewhere other than Aspen. I am so disappointed and angry about my Aspen dental care. Doubt I will have anything nice to say about my experience!
