Exceptionally service a very happy member of a small world

In two words: exceptional service. I've been a member of A Small World for about two years now. I book more than once a month hotels through this community platform and receive many benefits. I would highly recommend one of the memberships that they offer. I've also had countless engagements with Luz from customer success. She always has been very helpful in accommodating my requests when staying at a hotel. Cannot recommend A Small World enough!

Very impressed!

I have been very impressed with the service, choice of hotels and benefits available. It’s often a ‘no brainer’ to book with them with all the associated benefits, and on the rare occasion where I’ve had to contact customer services they’ve been responsive and helpful. Highly recommended.

At the same time, the protection of my personal information as per DSGVO laws is imperative to me and I will not expose myself on a public open site. What I can tell you is this, on

Please understand that my account has my legal names, pictures, work and employer information and I reserve the right to delete these on my own if we should not come to an amicable agreement, otherwise I will be forced to involve the EU Commission for Social Media Rights.

This action remains arbitrary and questionable.You cant force people to buy a premium service and cancel them for choosing to keep a basic membership. I challenge you to concretely state what community laws I allegedly broke, considering I am not even active on the site. False accusations are unlawful and I reserve the rights to pursue my legal rights should my suspicion be confirmed.

Arbitrary & Unprofessional handling of members and suspicion of discrimination

On 18 Feb 2026, ASMALLWORLD “Member Services” Luz Soler informed me my account would be terminated after further evaluation. That was it. No reason. No specific Terms of Service section. No alleged behavior. No warning. No chance to clarify.

I responded immediately asking: What did I do wrong? Which terms did I violate? Again: no explanation. Just a final decision and a threat-style instruction not to create new accounts. I will as a free human to do as I please create another account if they dont explain what I alleegly did "wrong".

This is extremely problematic for a network that positions itself as premium and “exclusive.” Terminating accounts without due process or transparency is not how serious platforms operate. It creates the impression that access depends on arbitrary internal bias — and yes, the experience felt discriminatory because of the complete lack of objective justification.

If you want a paid-only club, fine — but be honest. Don’t remove people while refusing to say why. I cannot recommend this service.
ASMALLWORLD hat meinen Account am 18.02.2026 einfach ohne Begründung gekündigt. Auf meine Nachfrage, welche AGB/Terms ich angeblich verletzt haben soll, kam keine konkrete Antwort – nur “nach weiterer Evaluation beendet” und der Hinweis, ich solle keinen neuen Account erstellen.

Das ist intransparent, willkürlich und wirkt auf mich diskriminierend, weil es keine Verwarnung, keine Klärung, keine Nachweise gab. Man kann Menschen auch nicht indirekt dazu drängen, eine Mitgliedschaft zu kaufen bzw. Geld auszugeben, und sie dann “bestrafen”, wenn sie nicht zahlen.

Sehr unprofessionell. Keine Empfehlung.

Thanks for sharing your name and your email address. While your email address does not appear anywhere in our database or in our email account, indicating you never contacted us, there is an account with a similar name which was free and never paid any subscription fee. Furthermore, that account was associated with a number of fake accounts which damaged the integrity of the community, and also did not pay. Any account that contravenes our policies are blocked in line with ASW's Terms of Service.

Not issuing tax invoices

The most annoying thing is that ASW cannot even provide me with a decent tax invoice for the over 5000 euros i paid membership fees. I wrote them 4 times only 1 answer that we are processing it. I mean sending a pdf invoice takes 2 minutes i am waiting for over a week now. I thing this company is scam. Also the good hotel prices are a joke, just wanted to book the SACHER in VIENNA, ASW says 716 Euro on the SACHER webpage it is 566....

I looked up the situation around your receipt and can see you requested it on the 30th of January, with a follow up on the 3rd of February, and your receipt was sent to you on the 5th. I understand you may think it takes only 2 minutes, but we have thousands of members with varying needs of support at any given time, and our accounting team is also going through annual closing which is a demanding period as well. Regarding our ASW Collection curated hotel offers, please keep in mind that we are a luxury hotel portal and we do not offer cheap or discounted bookings, but rather, we offer stay benefits with bookings that are not available on other sites nor on direct hotel sites. I hope this clarifies our business to you and we'd be very happy to discuss further at our support email address, which you have. Thanks and all the best.

Unreliable company - Avoid

I used the company to do several hotels bookings. It used to work ok in the past but these days is an absolute disaster. For instance, I reserved for a club room and when I checked with the hotel loyalty system, the room actually was booked into a Classic room, not the club shown in the Asmallworld system. Sent an email and I was told sorry it was incorrect in our system, hotel is right, sorry for the error.

I also sent an email to see if I could move to a different date with a higher rate and would pay the difference. Long story short after 6 emails, no response not even an acknowledgment.

At this point, the company cannot be trusted and should be avoided at all cost

Hi Hector, thanks for your review. We were in touch regarding your booking after establishing that you directed your first 6 emails to a do-not-reply email address, hence no one received them. As soon as you forwarded your correspondence to the correct address, we replied.

As we explained to you at the time, ASMALLWORLD offers a self-booking platform in which members make their own hotel reservations online, with payment handled entirely by the hotel. If users need to modify their bookings, they may do so themselves on the platform.

Based on feedback like yours, we are considering adding optional tailored services for members who wish to hand over booking modifications or enhancements to dedicated agents.

Not To Be Trusted.

Not To Be Trusted.

I initially joined the company when it was being run by Ben Elliott and could be trusted.

Ben sold it to a company in Switzerland that doesn't display a phone no. that you can contact them on when things go wrong.

Do not trust them with your card details they will help themselves without your permission.

I signed up for an event but cancelled the same day so they were fully aware that I would not be attending and knew why, yet they did not refund me.

The company if based in Switzerland and does not reply to emails and do not offer a phone no where they can be reached on. So not at all satisfactory.

I would trust more a company based closer to home in London where I can call them I have a query, with ASW it's all very anonymous. Also they keep sending out 'offers; get you to pay extra to join hotel programmes etc.

In my opinion ASW is all about making money, as much money as possible. Yet remain uncontactable should an issue arise.

It sounds like there may have been some confusion regarding annual membership subscription renewal payments. Users can unsubscribe from these at any time in their account settings. ASMALLWORLD will never charge users without their authorisation.

Our Support Team is always available to help at support@asw.com and is very responsive. There's also a help item in the app menu for members to fill out a support request directly from the app without having to write an email. Please feel free to get in touch if there are any outstanding issues that need resolution.

Great Platform!

I do not relate to some of the comments about this platform. My experience as a member has been great since I joined over two years ago. I have access to a Community where I can get great travel advice, and make good connections with interesting people. We can also meet in events held in major cities around the world and even book hotels. It's a one-stop shop for travel! Their customer support is also fantastic with generally quick response times. Regarding some complaints about the auto-renewal, this is mentioned in the terms and it can be disabled from the account so I do not see a problem.

ASMALLWORLD Collection VIP benefits are worth signing up

I am enjoying the ASW Collection VIP benefits for hotel travel. The personal touch from their support team when confirming reservations is a definite plus compared to other booking sites.

The community itself is based mainly on travel experiences and you can gain tips from local members throughout the world. ASMALLWORLD also offer events in many worldwide destinations, allowing you to meet other members in a curated experience by local ambassadors.

There are infrequent mailings letting you know of the latest events and membership special offers; all have been very well received.

Unethical company with unethical practices

Unethical company with unethical practices.

They have renewed my subscription without notification or pre-warning.

I have cancelled my subscription minutes after the renewal and they refused to issue a refund. moreover, they terminated my account.

They insist on charging me a one year subscription for being few minutes late to cancel the subscription.

Under any sensible law, a physical product can be returned within 15 days without any questions asked. a respectful company would allow cancellation within 14 days of the renewal, as well as notify you by sending you an invoice ahead.

Who wants to sign up for a service like that ? stay away.

Not informed of 'subscription' service

I joined ASW last year, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to use their services and this morning I was billed.
Doing this via paypal means the money is immediately withdrawn from your account without a forewarning email notification.
I contested this, and cancelled immediately and they aren't willing to do anything at all, which seems unreasonable seeing as it was moments after it was deducted.
