ARTLESS: Beautiful Design, Disappointing Engineering and Customer Service

I recently purchased a 42-inch round glass dining table and four chairs from ARTLESS through Perigold. I chose ARTLESS because of its reputation for premium design and craftsmanship, and because the company proudly states:

"Our primary objective is simple — a commitment to excellence in design through the highest quality of materials and workmanship."

Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite.

The most serious issue is the table itself. The 3/8-inch glass tabletop is simply placed on the walnut base with no magnets, no adhesive, and no mechanism whatsoever to secure it. As a result, the glass shifts easily, wobbles during normal use, and actually tips when weight is applied to one side. For a dining table, this is not only frustrating but also a genuine safety concern.

When I contacted ARTLESS directly, I expected the manufacturer to stand behind its product. Instead, Production Manager Mason replied that they had been making the table for over 13 years without receiving similar complaints and suggested I contact Perigold because they handled the sale.

After I explained that his response felt dismissive and inconsistent with ARTLESS's stated commitment to quality, his only suggestion was to use clear double-sided classroom mounting tape purchased from Amazon to hold the glass in place.

Let that sink in.

A luxury furniture company selling a designer dining table costing thousands of dollars suggested that I fix its stability using classroom craft tape.

That recommendation speaks volumes. Rather than acknowledging a legitimate design concern or standing behind their workmanship, the company shifted responsibility to the retailer and proposed a DIY solution that completely undermines the premium quality they advertise.

The walnut base and glass are visually attractive, but good furniture is more than appearance. A dining table should be stable, secure, and safe. It should not require customers to improvise repairs with adhesive tape.

If ARTLESS truly believes in its claims of exceptional craftsmanship and a lifetime commitment to quality, its customer service should reflect those values. In my experience, it did not.

I cannot recommend ARTLESS based on either the product design or the way my concerns were handled.
