Had a legal issue

Had a legal issue, tried to use the service, nobody responded, not a lawyer, not ARAG, not anyone, you’ll lose your case with this service

ARAG (former DAS)increasing risk

ARAG former DAS appears useful for doing administrative legal paperwork. Positive reviews on trusts, wills, issuing a lawyer's letter to have a business honor a basic* agreement. However,if you have a contested legal issue. This is where the wheels fall off since the in network lawyer answers to ARAG who retains them for the insured. This arrangement will use your claim's legal expense coverage limit without you knowing how often, where the lawyer 's fees run up quickly. As the issue dragged out, these costs were shockingly available once a 'regulator ' was brought in to have ARAG honor the coverage as described. The 'regulator' needed to act and did nothing** The legal expense coverage was used mostly by ARAG,about 60% of the limit! Essentially, it appears this legal claim was 'dismissed'by ARAG more for the coverage being exceeded not the invalidity of the claim since their lawyer accepted it based on the evidence. This retained lawyer is a subject matter expert* as demonstrated in the documentation. The claim dismissal left the claimant legally exposed and paying: deductible to ARAG ,an unlawful fee demand to the other side's lawyers, about 1 year left on the statute of limitation for an active* legal matter. The tight deadlines, and required efficiency requires tactical file management. Judicious use of the funds within the claim. If not addressed where ARAG offers their legal expense 'coverage' will hurt a claimant's legal rights when ARAG controls THEIR assigned lawyer and the funding of the same. Creating a conflict of interest that cannot exist when litigation is already problematic for the claimant. Result of an ARAG managed legal claim going sideways due to their questionable actions. The claimant was not made whole on hundreds of thousands of dollars ,and left further compromised to date.

Waste of time

Waste of time & money. The ARAG attorneys were slim to none for my request and after a MONTH, I had to reach out to get a response from one. Amanda Hanlon Law was slow, dragged out the response and didn’t speak to me to get a full understanding of my issue and then assumed she knew everything. Amanda proceeded to act like a victim when I called her out for her lack of understanding and withdrew before I even hired her. What is going on with this dysfunctional generation? ARAG was the wrong choice and so was their attorney network. I wasted so much time trying to get an attorney retained through this network, I would have been better off hiring one that actually works for full price. I will never invest in this network, nor would I recommend it.

Estate Planning

The primary reason for purchasing the legal insurance was to get all of my estate planning documents in order. The ARAG DIY documents were clear and easy to use/download. The ARAG Customer Care team responded to email questions within 24 hours and the network lawyer we used was very responsive & knowledgeable. The overall process from start to finish was very positive.

useless service

I have my family legal protection for years. Under this policy, I am entitled for free legal advice, sounds good by wordings. However after I tried this many times on one single issue, the legal advice from them is not useful at all, sometimes, misleading and confusing. The advisers I spoke to have very little knowledge than you normally expected, they are law students I presume. I can find the answers they told me online by myself. Don't waste your money on them.

Very happy with my plan

I used my ARAG legal plan to update by will and trust. I found a local in plan attorney who did an excellent job. I am happy with my coverage.

Don’t waste your money or time……

Don’t waste your money or time…I have been paying a premium for Employee Legal defence and when it was time to use it for a wrongful termination, they tell me Iam only entitled if my employer criminally charged me. That doesn’t apply to me so I guess I have been paying for no reason. #Scam #WasteOfMoney

Hard to find good network attorneys.

I've paid for Arag for over 15 years, and last year when I needed to use it...found it quite lacking. Most attorneys are using ARAG as a "bait and switch", and don't have your best interests in mind. I ultimately researched in the internet and did my own doc. Seems lot of privacy issues since each attorney has their own document handling process(some just use gmail). Quite a few attorneys in the directory don't take it or seem to be dropping out.
