Zero integrity! Stay far away!

I was with this company for several years. I never had a claim and always paid on time. This year, my renewal was to start on 3/1 and they dropped the ball. Never sent me the new quote and didn’t renew. I called and was told “no one was available to take my call” despite it clearly being within business hours. No one called me back as promised. I then emailed. No response for about 36 hours. By that time, I had already found a much better company with better reviews and much lower prices. I emailed the representative that I went with another company and to ignore the new quote and renewal. A few days later, conveniently on a Saturday morning when no one is in the office to call, they decide to renew my policy that I never approved and charge me over $600. I will never do business with this company and will make it my intention to ensure everyone knows how awful they are. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and will not stop until they refund me and stop these ridiculous and unethical practices. Stay far away!!

I have had business insurance for years…

I have had business insurance for years with this crowd. During that time I had 1 claim. Putting the claim detail together was made difficult with continually changing goalposts on what was required.
The IT replacement was a nonstarter as was too old - it says that if you click on the multiple attachments - which don't open, but thats not their issue.
The loss of earnings was a bigger farce - as a self employed person with a varying income - I was asked to prove that the loss was directly due to the accident and not a normal fluctuation in salary. I was asked to provide details of people with the identifying data blocked out, but then told as the data was blocked out it cant be used.
They have essentially declined the claim - but not officially as it remains deadlocked.

These have to be the worlds worst insurance company.

That doesn't take into consideration the poor customer service, delays in response both by phone and email, repeated referring from person to person, each time starting the story over and over, being put 'on hold' repeatedly for extended periods of time, and then the person needed isn't there.....

Service - absymal
Claim outcome - absymal
Left feeling totally mislead and ripped off, as from the outset the company looked for exit clauses - to get out of any fiscal responsibility.
All my policies with them now cancelled.

Recommend - avoid totally

This company is not animal friendly at all attention PETA. We had a cruise booked and took out the insurance. A month before our dog took a spill and tore his ACL and needed major surgery. He could not walk on the leg. The surgery cost $10,000 and meant we needed to stay home and take care of him as he healed. We could not go on the cruise and Aon said pets are not family members and would not cover the claim.

I also would give a zero if possible. No customer service to speak of. they decided to change my bank account without my permission and now i am fighting to get my money and nobody at Aon seems to care. Been a "forced" customer for many years, and every year it is the same issue, no customer service to answer emails, after 2 or 3 reminders might get an answer. Just terrible service.

Having been impressed with their…

Having been impressed with their efficiency in most of what Aon do as a pension administrator I am absolutely disgusted with their approach to the flag warnings on pension switching. They are clearly not taking FCA guidance in using a ‘clean’ list of U.K. pension schemes and are instead applying a pathetic and amateurish literal definition of overseas investment. This is causing unnecessary barriers to transfer and costly delays. U.K. registered pension schemes investing in a U.K. based global equity fund is NOT and overseas investment. Unprofessional behaviour!

I have a valid reason and meet the criteria, but they decided to deny my cash claim. I have an appeal, because I have documentation of my valid reason. I will keep you posted, but right now, I would not take this insurance again. Stressful, no one helps you to get cash back unable to enter in bank information when entering a claim. And you only speak to the Philippines, which is impossible, as well, cannot get a call back or they change the date.

Great company!

We bought this insurance for a family Disney cruise. We usually do buy insurance, but have never used it. Recently, we had a death in the family right before our trip and had to cancel. Aon made it so easy to file a claim, and they had approved it within two business days, with payment coming in less than a week from original filing date. We are so thankful for this service and how quickly they worked as it made a difficult time just a bit easier.

Shy of zero stars which is higher than…

Shy of zero stars which is higher than what they would even deserve there should be negative stars on here to choose from. The most inefficient company I have ever dealt with. Almost impossible to have a fluid conversation regarding your claim and impossible to have reconcile the paperwork you submit in order to successfully receive reimbursement on your claim all in all this company is the worst if you see this option in your travelers’s insurance options, talk to your credit cards are higher your own insurance company to cover your travel and expenses. I have the most disastrous trip in the world, and I am definitely tearing after not only the cruise company celebrity cruises but the Hilton all of which I’ve got to sit on my hands until the final determination has been made with this friggin insurance company. I have expressed to them many times my attorney is chomping at the bit to move forward, but we need them to drop the gavel on what they are going to cover and what they are not as they are direct representatives of celebrity cruise lines. Frustrating and infuriating!!! Just what I neededIn addition to the most horrible cruise experience I have ever had. Nothing like a great big dose of salt in your wound having a horrible experience and dealing with a horrible, horrible, horrible insurance company. If you need to go with this company for whatever reason because your cornered into it from your cheap ass cruise company or whoever hires them to be their, insurance carrier then at the bare minimum speak out. Because believe me, I am going straight to the cruise line about the insurance and the reimbursement on this horrendous, cruise experience. PS this has been going on since the first week of October. Talk about being out of pocket and nobody gives a crap well they will remember my name by the time I’m done.

I wish I had known what poor quality insurance I was purchasing for my holland america cruise. Next time I see AON I will definite NOT get the insurance offered and purchase my own insurance from another company NOT contracted by the cruise line. My Granddaughter got sick on our cruise and her bill was almost $400. Her personal insurance paid us $125 and AON paid $35. next time I wont waste my money.

Ripped off!! We purchased trip cancellation

Shame on you Carnival Cruise Line!!
We purchased trip cancellation insurance for our Carnival Cruise; had to cancel for a medical reason because of a kidney transplant. AON had us jumping through hoops with medical documentation until closing our claim without satisfaction.

Dear Sir/Madame,

We have repeatedly told you that all the medical reports that caused us to miss this cruise have already been submitted.

We have also spoken to all the medical providers concerned with my wife’s condition and they have expressed that they have already provided all the relevant details to you and fail to understand what else you would require!!

As previously stated your actions, or lack of action, critically point to the fact that you are just delaying the payment of the amount due to us.

Your continued delay in fulfilling your obligation emphasizes why no one trusts insurance companies anymore!!

I would urge you to stop playing games and settle this claim

We have also repeatedly requested that someone who can clearly speak English call us so we might reiterate our disgust at your behavior verbally

Really disappointed because Biddulphs recommended them but that means I will also look for another moving company that works with company’s that are reputable. Biddulphs and AON insurance are no longer going to get my money.

MSD Animal health pension transfer…

MSD Animal health pension transfer nightmare!
It took AON 6 months to undertake a simple pension transfer. This was triggered by me complaining about the poor customer service, so they told me to go somewhere else and started the transfer process without my consent. It is also worth noting that I lost around a third of my pension value when transferring out. This calculation was checked and endorsed by the Trustees as correct, so they seem to be okay with me losing a substantial amount of money. All through the transfer process AON did not acknowledge any mail/documents sent back. They were however consistent in setting unreasonable deadlines and time scales and putting hurdles in my way such as an Amber warning on the company I was transferring to. This was for offshore investments. A quick Google check on AON will show the same, I was even laughed at on the phone after explaining I was quite stressed by the experience and random timelines. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They are total and utter scum.

I received a letter after the process had ended stating "We tried to keep things as straightforward as possible..." This is utter nonsense!!! I think Kafka based the Trial on your transfer system.

If it were possible I would give them ZERO stars. Avoid, unless you are unlucky enough to have a pension scheme administered by them, in that case, good luck!

My experience proves the 1.4 rating Aon have is too good for them

Reading on Trustpilot that Aon have been rated 1.4 is in my opinion too good for them! My experience is like most of the reviews on here, that is to say this claims handling outsourcing company has a long long way to go before they even come close to achieving the minimum level of service a customer should expect. I submitted a claim to Aviva for broken glass (total cost of claim £245) but was horrified the claim had been outsourced to Aon to deal with. Surprise surprise, Aon repudiated the claim on the grounds that according to them broken glass was not covered under the policy. I explained in a detailed written letter as to why the claim was covered, siting relevant sections of the policy but without answering my points they just briefly reiterated their position. I then escalated my claim formally through their complaints process but instead of addressing each point as they are expected to do under FSA rules they again just sent a brief response saying ‘not covered’ instead of the detailed Final Response Letter expected. I therefore had no reasonable alternative than to escalate my complaint further and sent this to the Financial Ombudsman Service to consider. By now the cost of this (as the FOS fee raised against the insurer is significantly more than my claim whether they do, or whether they don’t come down in my favour). As expected based on policy wording the Ombudsman has decided in my favour and instructed that my claim is settled and interest paid from the point I paid the claim myself….. despite this I have still heard nothing from Aon and certainly no payment has been forthcoming so far. The level of professionalism must surely be at rock bottom in Aon. Clearly they cannot work out what their policy wording covers, choosing to repudiate rather than pay valid claims. They appear to have no application of TCF (treating customers fairly). They appear to apply no economic considerations to their decisions. Staff appear untrained on the requirements of formal complaints processes. They appear unable or unwilling to deal with communications in a timely manner. Currently I’m even thinking they hold themselves above the expectations of the FOS (which of course they are not). If that’s not enough they seem in no hurry to admit and apologise for their errors. This business I assume is of high value to Aviva as their policyholder is Bourne Leisure. I suspect all parties are extremely disappointed about the ‘bad taste’ Aon have left in relation to their shocking handling of this matter and Aon in my view must take full accountability for the negative impact their actions have on reputable companies like Aviva and Bourne Leisure who will be made fully aware of the bad reputation being risked by outsourcing to Aon.

This company is awful!! AVOID!!! Grumpy unhelpful customer service staff other than Andrew Yeardsley who was was very understanding of all the hassle I've had just trying to transfer a pension. Ridiculous amount of paper work (compared to other companies), terrible communication, no updates, just leaving my case...what took a couple of weeks to do with other companies, has so far taken 4.5 months and counting! They delay everything. I just want my money.

Erm okay then

Erm okay then, so found offer with them, asked them about credit history, they took a month to reply and said yeah it’ll be fine with ccjs. So I handed in two applications. Two weeks later I chased it up and last second on a Friday they said we can’t work with Ccj. Ermmmm why? Wbu the delay! Disappointed and unprofessional. Let me tell you this now, poor credit hasn’t prevented me from working before in similar roles and poor crsdit does not prevent me from doing a job! Really annoyed, bad reviews, bad communication all round. Also the job specs on indeed arent clear! Doesn’t tell you what the job is even about or the firm! Bit of a mine field.
