Denying faulty oven installation is their fault
I've used AO a couple of times and never had a problem with them. I bought an integrated oven from them a couple of years ago, which they installed and all was good. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and whilst I was using it the oven tripped and lost power.
As it was out of warranty I called an electrician who said that whoever installed the oven didn't tighten the wires up properly and one of them had melted and this had tripped the oven. He said it was dangerous and could have caused a fire.
Nobody else has touched the oven since it was installed so the only way this could have happened was the original installers hadn't done it properly.
I got in touch with AO complaints and the lady I first spoke to was lovely. She said to send in any photos (I took some before the electrician changed the box) and a report from the electrician which I did.
They have come back today to say that as the oven was installed a couple of years ago it couldn't possibly be them as the problem would have appeared before now. So basically tough, it's not their problem and that's it.
That's unacceptable. Noone else has touched the oven since installation so who else is at fault?
