Amazing Customer Service

WE booked Orlando last minute with American Sky. Alan Facer looked after everything- would highly recommend. We also visited the office in Dublin and staff were so lovely. Wouldn't book with any other travel agent.

Western discovery tour booked with American sky.

Me and my sister have just finished the Western discovery tour booked through American Sky. The booking was easy and has been excellent. I can’t fault American Sky. They’ve been absolutely brilliant very attentive easy to deal with very professional regular communication. A really personal service. Want to say a personal thank you to Luke who dealt with all our queries and made sure everything went like clockwork.

Fantastic company

Just back from an amazing holiday booked through American sky/Tropical Sky
I was a bit cautious when booking as I hadn’t heard of this company however I really cannot recommend them highly enough
We dealt with Brendan and he was fantastic I had so many questions (most stupid) and he always got back to me so fast
The villa was fabulous and the whole package a lot cheaper then their competitors

Unfortunately the worst villa I have ever rented.

Rented a villa through American Sky, they used a firm called Ocean Holidays in Florida. I’ve rented 6 villas in the Orlando area and this was by far the worst. Faulty air con, filthy pool, cockroach infested sofas and basically poorly maintained house. The air con took 5 days to fix and the rest was left all the time we were there. We got a partial refund on the accommodation eventually. It was supposed to accommodate 8 but a sign on the wall clearly stated 6. There were 6 chairs in the kitchen and 2 3 seater sofas.
Faulty sockets, a toilet that flushed every 90 minutes as it leaked and generally poor housing.
I can’t see myself using them again or any firm that uses Ocean Holidays.

Thank you for your feedback. Tracey in Customer Services thought that she had resolved this with you in November and believes that you were unhappy with Ocean Holidays (the villa owners) and not American Sky.
We agreed that the accommodation was not up to the standard it should have been and apologised that our high standards were not met by one of our suppliers on this occasion. Ocean Holidays offered you a partial refund and American Sky offered an additional refund to help rectify the issue, which you kindly accepted.
Again, we are truly sorry for the poor standard of accommodation you received.

Highly Recommended!

What a great company! We’ve now used them for major road trips in both Canada and the USA.
They take the time to discuss your ideal trip and will build it for you - they really do care about their customers.
All the hotels and the car they booked were spot on and the routes they recommend are ideal. The bespoke electronic roadbook they provide is a huge help and packed with useful hints & tips.
They also help enormously when things don’t go quite to plan. Our outbound flight to San Francisco was cancelled by the airline just 12 hours before departure and American Sky assisted with our discussions with the airline to successfully sort a no cost alternative.
In conclusion you can book with American Sky confident of having a great time! Thanks guys!

Southern Explorer

we started off with 4 nights in New York followed by the Southern Explorer tour which finished in Miami. There were 7 different nationalities on the coach from all over Europe and even Australia and everybody got on really well. Most of the hotels were fantastic, one or two basic, but the two night stops coincided with the better hotels, so no complaints. Some long hours spent on the coach, but its a big country and we did have plenty of toilet breaks. A lot of site seeing is included in the Tour, there are optional extras, we did take up some like "Graceland, Mississippi river cruise" and a few others, we saw so much over the course of the tour, it was worth every penny.

Excellent company and amazing holiday

Charlotte arranged our trip from Fort Lauderdale to Key West with four stops. The holiday was amazing and the accommodation was first class.
We had everything passed to us well in advance of our departure and the trip was faultless.
We loved Key West so much we are planning another trip back in January and will use Americansky again.

More prior communication necessary

We were not advised in advance that our tour ( booked in the UK ) was being amalgamated with tours booked by other nationalities. We ultimately ended up on a coach with 80% Germans. This changed the dynamic of our tour drastically because the opportunities for socialising at the end of the day were severely diminished. This has been highlighted to the company via their feedback survey but no-one has been polite enough to offer a reply
Most of the hotels were excellent except for the one in Roanoke which was undergoing renovation and really should not have been open for business, there seemed to be just one staff member on duty , no signage..in fact a member of the decorating crew showed us to our room.
It is also misleading that the listing states 2 nights n Orlando...actually it is 2 nights in Kissimee, which may be fine if you want to visit the theme parks but leaves you stranded in an area with very little to do otherwise.

Booked Graceland and cruise holiday and Rachel was so helpful and professional in a friendly way, Holiday not until 2026 so time will tell if the good service continues I don’t see why it shouldn’t. Vacation in US

Charlotte, Thank you for all support provided to prepare for this holiday. We have had a wonderful time and absolutely stress free due to a very detailed preparation from your side. It is a mindpace exercise when everything is known upfront, details related to location, car hire, seats in the plane, etc. Your provided support was outstanding and highly recommended from us!

Great Service

Hi, I just wanted to thank Sarah Ham for all her help & support with booking our American holiday. She was very patient with us as our holiday plans changed many times before eventually booking it yesterday. Fantastic friendly service

Fantastic friendly service. Charlotte was incredibly helpful in, not only booking my tour but also additional stays after the tour finished. Everything worked out perfectly and I was able to enjoy my trip knowing everything was taken care of.

Flydrive USA/Canada

Flydrive holiday with a route including New York, Bar Harbor, Quebec, Niagrara, Washington which we based on a 2 week defined tour offered by Canada Sky which we then asked to be amended to include additional nights in certain locations and new locations. This was all handled quite effortlessly by Connor and within 2 days we had the itinerary we wanted.
We suffered two departure flight cancellations , British Airways at fault, which meant WE made decisions to fly from different airport, change hotel stays, period of hire car, etc which was handled very efficiently by Julie and Tracey as we discussed with them and re-arranged, which was much appreciated and relieving some of the stress. Yes this was done at our expense, of which we hold British Airways accountable for and from whom compensate is being sought, which can take months.
Regarding the itinerary, its one to see as much of this part of USA/Canada in a short space of time so take ownership of knowing what you want to see, we booked our own tours. Some of the hotel accommodation was basic, clean but rooms a little tired, and then there was some that we were surprised would be included for the price we paid.
In general very pleased with the holiday for the price we paid and the support from the customer services team

Charlotte was fantastic to deal with. Tailored our trip to our exact wishes and communicated everything very clearly. Also, kept us up to date the very minute an airline made any change.

I contacted American Sky as we were…looking to book a fly drive holiday in New England

I contacted American Sky as we were looking for a fly drive holiday in New England. Marie was very helpful and knowledgeable and tweaked the holiday to meet our needs, 1 more night in Boston and a more central hotel. Everything ran smoothly apart from Dollar rentacar giving us a huge 8 seat Honda Odyssey (for 2 people) when we had booked a ‘medium’ sized car to travel around New England. Everything else was great and without issue. I would recommend American Sky for their good customer service prior to travelling.

We have had the best holiday with lots…

We have had the best holiday with lots of travelling to Boston, Nashville, New York Philly and Washington. Alan organised it so well so we had enough time to see all the things we wanted to see. We had great hotels and flights and trains all booked perfectly. Every detail was as we had asked.

Rockin' in the free world!

Having previously travelled the Southern Explorer route four years back, we were “prepared” for what to experience and see along our journey. We had good memories and some missing gaps so wanted to “do it again” and why not….?!

The tour bus was comfortable, clean and well maintained along with a seating plan in place to allow rotation of views along the way. The tour guide (Susanne) was multi-lingual and rather amusing, which helped to break up the commentary and journey. Susanne regularly provided useful and interesting information about the route we were taking as well as the location we were heading towards, which was at times fascinating and expressed her passion and knowledge of what she does.

The tour sees you stop at various key locations and places along the way. Additional excursions could be purchased from the tour guide to add to the overall experience of a destination, depending upon your personal preferences and budget, etc. Or you can enjoy your own time to rest or go exploring.

From our experience none of the hotels were awful but equally none of them are fantastic – they are American, middle of the road hotels (admittedly some need a little TLC). Our biggest bugbear was not having a safety deposit box in many of the venues, despite the hotels promoting the “safety of your valuables”. Overall, at the end of the day the hotels are there to serve you a purpose; to sleep and to shower, full stop.

We agree with the previous review about gratuities. Giving either the driver or the tour guide a tip to thank them for their service should be a personal decision and at the travellers discretion, not at a recommended rate by the tour company. Over the course of the holiday (17 days) the recommended rate worked out to be a considerable amount and required in cash. Given we had already spent a small fortune on this holiday this additional end of trip expense was a bit much!!! Plus surely the tour guide and drivers fees are already included in the baseline price, so why I am paying extra….?

Overall, we enjoyed the trip, the company and the experience and recommend for anyone wanting to see a lot of America in an organised and short space of time. Be prepared to live out of a suitcase, have early mornings, being on the go and sitting on the coach for long periods of time.

I'm sorry that you felt that the additional expense for the gratuities was too high. We do get asked for guidelines around how much to tip so that clients know how much to budget. Americans are accustomed to tipping at least 20% which does really add up. However, this is completely discretionary, so I hope you didn't feel any pressure.
I am glad to hear however that you still had an enjoyable touring holiday.

We have just returned from the southern…

We have just returned from the southern explorer east coast trip. We arrived in New York and it took a while to get through customs, by the time we got to our hotel a few hours later, we missed our first trip to liberty Island, which was really annoying as we only had a few hours in NY before leaving for Philly. A couple of days later we were lucky enough to meet Sussana and have her as our new tour guide she is strict and firm but so funny, welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful she is absolutely amazing. All of the trips were brilliant, but be aware you can book the trips on the bus at every location, we were not given this information and tried to find out, but were unable to get an answer, so we booked some trips ourselves and had to seperate from the group on the bus too do them, so please dont do what we did book it on the bus. The hotels were hit and miss, some were great and others were ok, but that's the luck of the draw I guess. A lot of early starts which is fine by me as I get up early for work anyway, but be prepared for a lot of time sat on your bum on the bus but hey you have too to get around such a big country. But Sussana breaks it up where she can by giving information and things too look out for as you are approaching them. We didn't go much on the Holiday inn in Miami the restaurant was appalling service only bringing out the actual food you ask for not what is actually on the menu as he claimed I didn't ask for all the extras that were supposed to come with the burger !!!! He just shrugged his shoulders and walked off, unfortunately his gratuity tip was included in the bill because I wouldn't of paid it. I would avoid it like the plague !!!!!!. We had too wash in the sink as the shower didn't work, upon letting reception know this they just said the showers are all stiff and I didn't pull the leaver properly. Trust me at 6ft 2 and built up big I nearly ripped the thing off the wall, but he wouldn't have it. My personal experience was it was a bad start and end too our holiday that we loved so much, maybe it would be worth looking at changing this hotel. My only other fault would be paying the tour guide and driver a gratuity tip at the end which potentially can be quite expensive, I think it would be better included into the holiday when you book and pay for it as it is quite a few $$$ to keep back in cash. But as a whole it was an amazing holiday and worth every penny, we met some amazing people on the coach from different countries around europe. The locals were all really friendly that we met as well. We will definitely do it again but to a different part of the U.S.A thank you
