Used to be amazing...

My first real gaming PC came from Alienware and the price was fair for the speccs and assembly. Nowadays you can get cheaper, better products.

Terrible product

Truly cheap hardware (in the quality sense, not the price tag) which broke after a few weeks, was not replaceable under their "warranty" (term used loosely) and became completely unusable after a single year of use. Pure crap. Avoid.

Used to be good...

Alienware used to sell some insane machines for great prices, but nowadays it's not only cheaper but also better to build a pc on your own. Such a shame.

I have purchased an Alienware M17

I have purchased an Alienware M17, while in warranty besides the fact that the customer support premium service is a complete lie, it took over one month to get another GPU shipped, each time. The GPU of my laptop was replaced 3 times so far, and according to their marketing if you have 3 major components replaced you are eligible for a replacement, well that's a lie as well. After the expiry of the extended premium warranty which by the way nothing is premium apparently but anyway, the GPU guess what? It broke again... So I took it back to the official service as always of course, since July 2020 my laptop has been with them until December 2020 when I decide to ship it to a dell authorized service in Switzerland, it's been there since January 2021, still no answer from them if they can fix it anymore. Well overall experience I would say it is a garbage product, overpriced and actually worthless since a 4000$ laptop isn't actually even starting up anymore. I have 15 year old laptops that actually still work, so overall, marketing lies, garbage products, garbage service and also garbage support, what can I say, I am very disappointed and after this whole experience I am pretty sure I will never ever buy any Alienware products and that I might reconsider in the future on all Dell products, too bad because it was a company I actually trusted, misplaced trust apparently. Keep away from it is my advice is stay away and just look for better options that are actually less expensive and better performing.

Bit too pricy

While alienware delivers some great speccs, it's quite pricy for what it offers and most of the time you're better off assembling your pc by yourself.

Tech support is a scam

I was happy to buy the Alienware M15 in July 2020. I immediately had problems with it crashing when I typed. A good firm strike of the keys would cause the computer to freeze up. I notified tech support immediately and they started troubleshooting my problem, although I felt like they weren't listening to me. They went through the same troubleshooting routine over and over again. Ever time I contacted them. After months of this, I finally told them that what they were doing wasn't going to work. Imagine having to troubleshoot your troubleshooter...they then decided to send someone out to replace one of my hard drives, because that was the problem. I told them that I don't think that is the issue, I have told you like 100 times that it crashes when I type...but they insisted. The guy came and replaced the hard drive, and the problem got worse. I finally had had enough, just replace the laptop, because it obviously has some internal issue that you can't fix. That's when they told me my replacement window had expired...just to be clear, Alienware refuses to replace a brand new laptop that was faulty when I got it, and that they have been working on since I got it., and the only reason it didn't get replaced within the window of opportunity was because they were working on it the whole time and assuring me it was something they could fix quickly. Don't buy Alienware, they will not honor your warranty, but instead use distraction tactics to void your warranty replacement.

I've had more problems with my two day…

I've had more problems with my two day old brand new Alienware Aurora R11 Computer from Dell then I've ever had with every other computer I've ever touched in 30 years. This thing is absolutely horrible. Runs slower then my 2011 desktop that got dropped down a set of stairs when I moved, and The R11 cost 4 times as much.

I purchased a Aurora R8 Alienware…

I purchased a Aurora R8 Alienware computer and it has not worked correctly since it arrived. I had it built with their best gaming options available. I'm on the phone with technical support daily and get disconnected daily with no help. The computer is garbage and has never worked correctly. They refuse to return it or replace it since the first week it was purchased. They cannot even get their own Alienware apps to work correctly. This company and their customer service is nothing but a joke do not buy their products. You are better off just ripping up your money and throwing it out the window!

Great product have been using it for…

Great product have been using it for many years. If you have to buy a pc or want to buy a pc. I suggest you be generous and go with alienware. I have been using the same pc for 4 years and it still keeps up. This laptop even supports 5g, at a very high speed. I did not even have to add a dongle. The only reason I gave it 4 out 5 stars, is the service part. Having to pay such a high fee after the first year for support is a bit harsh.

Dead pixel on a 1000€ display

I bought an Alienware AW3418DW in Dec 2019 and already now in Feb 2021, there's a dead pixel. Contacted Dell (Alienware's) CS and they informed me that there need to be 6 dead pixels in order to look at the problem.

I could understand this on a cheap monitor but this is a 1000€ piece of hardware. I think most geeks know that Alienware are mediocre at best most of the time, and here it shines. I won't be shopping Alienware (or Dell for that matter) in the future.

The monitor outside this is good and I am happy with the rest.

Absolutely fantastic Accidental Damage Service

In December 2016 I purchased an Alienware 15R3 Computer. It was already expensive but I gritted my teeth and purchased the added Accidental Damage Warranty. I think it was on sale for $450 for 4 years.

The computer has been great. I have owned 10 Laptops over the last 20 years and this is by far my favorite. I wish it were not so heavy but otherwise, it was great.

However, I have had to send this one in for repairs (I dropped it a few times) on my accidental damage repair warranty.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful their service is. They are prompt. They are friendly. They are helpful. And when I get the computer back it is repaired entirely to my greatest desires and expectations.

I cannot praise them enough and I want this review to be out there.

Needs a bit more hmmph

If you're going to fork out thousands for a piece of equipment, you expect it to be top tier. Sadly, Alienware has kinda lost track of what that means.

Top notch gaming rigs!

Bought a gaming laptop from AW, and to my surprise, it was actually good. Normally, the terms gaming and laptop don't mix, but AW breaks that mold.

I spent nearly a $1,000 last Christmas…

I spent nearly a $1,000 last Christmas for my son an Ailenware Aurora R8. It has never worked well. We have spent countless hours on the phone with support trying to fix it and am always told it “should” work for the games he wants to play. It never does. They would not take it back and it’s basically useless for what he wanted. Do not waste your money!!!
