Great product and service
The Alibaba review .
The whole process from design to having a mold and sample made was very easy thanks to Ana. I wont hesitate to use Alibaba again .The delivery time quoted was reasonable and I received my product within this timeframe.
Assurance did not protect me when I needed it most
I purchased four lithium batteries through Alibaba using Trade Assurance because I believed it would protect me in case of problems.
One of the batteries showed defects from the very first operation. I provided technical evidence, BMS history, logs, screenshots and detailed analysis throughout the dispute process.
The seller rejected the evidence, refused any compensation proposal, refused to provide replacement components, and insisted that I organize and pre-finance the return of a 130 kg battery. The seller stated that transport costs would be reimbursed later, but without providing any concrete guarantees, timelines or clear procedure.
The dispute lasted for weeks. In the end, Alibaba informed me that it could not force the seller to provide a refund and offered a discretionary compensation of only USD 300.
The battery cost approximately EUR 1,640. Therefore, the buyer was left absorbing most of the loss despite having paid for Trade Assurance protection.
My main disappointment is not the seller's behavior, but the fact that the buyer protection system did not provide the level of protection I reasonably expected when making the purchase.
Based on my experience, buyers should carefully evaluate what Trade Assurance actually covers in practice before relying on it as a guarantee.
Alibaba Agent Covers Up Merchant Bribery (Order 25995225501032093)
WARNING: Alibaba protects corrupt merchants and covers up COMMERCIAL BRIBERY!
Order ID: 25995225501032093
The seller shipped a heavily rusted, defective electric pot (severe safety hazard). When I complained, they explicitly offered me a 250 RMB bribe to delete my honest review, which is a direct criminal offense under Article 164 of the PRC Criminal Law.
I provided clear screenshot proof of the bribery to Alibaba. Instead of banning the seller, Trade Dispute agent "Lucy" protected them, ignored the evidence, and locked the dispute system. Now, Alibaba support is completely ignoring my messages.
Is Alibaba Group now operating as a safe haven for illegal commercial bribery? Consumers beware! Alibaba will NOT protect your rights when their sellers cheat and bribe.
Almost two decades of succesfull transactions
I have been buying and outsourcing products through Alibaba since 2009. I couldn't list all the items I bought through the platform here, from small custom-made parts to full 52' containers, or conveyor systems worth tens of thousands of dollars, machined metal parts, electrical wires and connectors, welded SS machine parts, 3-phase electric motors from 750W to 45kW with and without speed reducers, and many, many more. In all the years I've been doing business this way, I believe I can consider myself very lucky, because not once have I been shortchanged or sent defective items. On the contrary, with some people we became friends; we even write to each other now and then, and, with their attitude and professionalism, they have earned my respect. I have to admit, some companies helped us solve debilitating problems we had for years with equipment deemed unfixable. For me, the two platforms belonging to the Alibaba group are extremely far apart: Alibaba (the site) is a professional site for high-end products and services, while AliExpress is just a collection of trickster wannabes (with some exceptions).
DO NOT USE STORE CREDIT - Alibaba Refuses to Refund!
I run an e-commerce business and frequently use Alibaba for my supply chain. Recently, I placed an order using my valid Alibaba Account Credit (Store Credit/Coupon). The order encountered an issue and was cancelled.
Instead of refunding my valid account credit, Alibaba's system permanently deleted it. Their "Senior" customer service agent, Joshua, refused to help, copy-pasting standard templates claiming it was an "experience compensation" technicality.
They are using internal system loopholes to avoid refunding valid buyer credits. If you are a business owner, be warned: Alibaba will let your store credits expire during a dispute and refuse to manually replace them. I am currently fighting to get my funds back from order 298975243001027074. Terrible customer protection!

Do not use Alibaba
Do not use Alibaba. Ordered an item with the trade assurance and I received the wrong item.
Despite every effort to try and resolve the issue. The seller has stopped responding and Alibaba refuses to accept the photo and video evidence that I submitted showing that i recieved the wrong item.
Customer service is useless. Do not recommend
I trust Alibaba for equipment supplies
Alibaba is a trusted B2B platform with great features for the order process and tracking, contractual protections, and order tracking.
Great service and safe shopping…
Great service and safe shopping experience!
A marketplace that facilitates scams with no repercussions for suppliers - don't rely on Trade Assurance!
I have re-posted my review to reflect my new knowledge instead of massively editing my last.
Essentially, I spent near 340 GBP on a computer product due to lack availability in the UK and EU markets. This was near the retail price back when it was last sold in the UK.
I was told it was a new product that had only been opened to flash to the latest firmware to ensure compatibility with components ahead of the buyers receiving the item.
It arrived quickly, but with multiple signs of use indicating that it was used or refurbished with minor signs of damage (including a repair), missing accessories, and non-manufacturer plastic film.
Resolving the matter was impossible as it was seen as a “wear and tear” issue despite being a “new” product. The seller offered tiny partial refunds and Trade Assurance continued to offer non-guaranteed “discretionary credit” (that cannot be transferred out) in addition to a partial refund if I kept the item, or I could return it at my own risk and cost.
It was a back and forth that spanned weeks, and it felt like they ran down the clock as the case conveniently came to a close a few days following the closure of PayPal’s 30-day SNAD window. Since I paid with Pay in 3 (unregulated credit), I could not chargeback with my bank and no authority could help me get the money back.
The reason why I opted not to return it was because the seller had already lied (twice, in fact), and if I were to return the product, I would have paid to send it back for them to potentially say there is a problem with the product; I could have ended up with no product and almost 400 GBP less. I think I made a good call as the seller disappeared from the marketplace within a few months of sale.
In the end, I had to send a letter to inform Alibaba I would be taking legal action. Since their response did not resolve, I let them know my demands and that I would pass it onto a solicitor. Only then did they resolve by sending a little over 90% of the money back and I kept the item (even though I no longer wanted or needed it).
The lesson learned here is do not use Alibaba as there is no easy way to get your money back.
If really must use Alibaba:
1. Check everything about the seller – do not rely on just their ratings, years of operation, and their nice pages to convince you as it is just a way they can run off with your money.
2. Document all interactions and take screenshots of absolutely everything.
3. Make sure to lodge disputes as soon as possible if there are issues – be clear with your demands and give a fair but not excessive amount of time to the seller and Alibaba so you do not fall foul to time limits on claims with your payment method, bank, or for proceedings.
In my old review, I suggested people use credit card instead of PayPal for protections without another link in the chain. Section 75 (in the UK) is a legal right for purchases above £100 and below £30,000, but the card company could legally decline as Alibaba is an intermediary. Still, you can chargeback with your bank within 120 days of the transaction, but absolutely do not use PayPal Pay in 3 or any other unregulated credit as will you lose that ability.
Obviously, laws vary depending on your country, so do your own research.
Severe Fraud and Scam by the Supplier
Severe Fraud and Scam by the Supplier - Half Shipment Missing & Counterfeit Refurbished Phones
I am extremely disappointed with Alibaba's lack of protection against fraudulent suppliers. I placed an order for original, high-quality smartphones across two orders, but what I received was a complete scam.
First, half of the shipment was completely missing. Second, the items that actually arrived were of extremely poor quality and completely defected—the batteries are failing, and the top speakers do not work at all.
Most shockingly, as an electronics engineer with a professional workshop, I diagnosed the devices and discovered that the supplier used hacked software to manipulate the internal hardware specifications and diagnostic data to make the phones look 100% genuine and pristine when they are actually counterfeit/tampered with.
This severe fraud has destroyed my business reputation, caused my customers to return the devices, and resulted in financial losses worth multiples of my original capital. Alibaba must intervene immediately, audit this fraudulent seller, and issue a full refund for both orders. I will not stop escalating this legally and publicly until this is resolved.

I have been a seller on Alibaba for a 6 months
I have been a seller on Alibaba for a long time. 3 months ago I raised an issue with their API and since then I have contacted their support team countless times. Every single agent promises to escalate, promises a callback, promises a refund — and nothing ever happens. They keep saying the same scripted words with zero action. I have lost 3 months of business because of their negligence. Their support team is completely useless and has no power to resolve anything. I am still waiting for my refund till today. Do not trust their support team. They will waste your time with empty promises. Worst customer service experience I have ever had
