My residents and I are having to use…

My residents and I are having to use the fire escape stairwell to access our dwelling in Tottenham, due to the lift assigned to Amalgamated Lifts as the maintenance contractor being constantly out of order since November 2025. It has been reported numerous times that there are repetitive faults with the lift and now it has been out of order since the beginning of the new year (2026).

Residents have been told that they are awaiting a part 'again' (2 weeks ago) with no updates as to when this will be resolved.

There are deliveries to the flats that are being aborted, personal mail left in the lobby by postmen (potential for identity theft) and residents with disability issues being forced to stay in their homes as they cannot climb the stairs and residents at risks of injury trying to carry heavy loads up the fire escape stairwell to their property.

I have seen the number of similar occurrences in these reviews. I suggest that the investigatory journalists with national media (ITV/ etc) is contacted to have this company investigated and brought to account.

They should refund all of the monies received from, council, housing associations & landlords and compensate all of the people affected by their sub standard work.

Unresponsive and slow to fix lift

The lift in our block was out of service for nearly six weeks. There was no transparency of what was being done to fix the lift. The lift has broken down again with deadlines being missed to fix it. There are elderly people who depend on the lift working. Would not recommend and will be calling for their removal from the current contract.

Their callout is 4 hrs, but it takes 4 days. They fixed the lift one day, it broke down the next 3 times they came, 3 times it broke down till someone got stuck in it then they say it needs a part that part changed and they need another part then its a new door which he brings but they need two people to change it all of this was to get the lift up and running by the 10/12/25 we still dont have the lift working and this is for a block of flats for adults over 55 and most are dissableld

Horrifying and dangerous experience!

Absolutely horrifying encounter with their engineer on Thursday 16 October 2025!

Amalgamated Lifts refused to respond to any calls to fix a lift that they had put out of service for over six months, then continued to send demands for payment for future maintenance service, misdiagnosed the fault of the lift, sent a part that is not needed for the "repair" of a lift that they abandoned for months on end and then sent an engineer out to "service" a lift that no one had booked in - this is unacceptable and downright questionable business practice!

An unscheduled service - yet an engineer showed up ... why? If you haven't received payment in months, why are you scheduling engineers to perform a service on a client that no longer pays the bills?

The engineer purposely disabled the lift and put it out of service, citing legality of having a telephone in the lift, which is not strictly true as the law states that a lift should have a minimum of an emergency alarm - he point blank refused to reinstate the operation of the lift and left our building not undoing the damage that he had done and leaving the lift out of service!!!
The engineer, when questioned, became hostile and verbally abusive, throwing around expletives. Totally abusive behaviour and unwarranted; shockingly disgraceful!!!!!!

AVOID THIS DANGEROUS UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY!!!!!!

WE GOT THESE BEASTS ON OUR NECKS RECENTLY

GOT THESE BEASTS ON OUR NECKS RECENTLY, before we had normal, civilised European company. Now about a month ago they kept elder people house OVER A WEEK WITHOUT A LIFT!!!

AND THAT HAPPENS IN THE 3RD DECADE OF THE 21ST CENTURY IN ONE OF WORLD'S CULTURAL CAPITAL LONDON.

Two days ago our lift started create sounds like war machine. I did call yesterday before 2pm. One bull..iter with sweet voice told me she understands and don't worry asap everything will be done.

10 past 21pm there was done nothing!!! I wasted my unpaid time and made call again. AGAIN I had to provide my full info (excluding my bank account details and menstrual periods) and was fooled with a new promises and THIS MORNING, WHO WOULD BE SURPRISED - THE LIFT NOT WORKING AT ALL.

Our previous lift providers appeared in 20 min, one hour, the latest the same evening. WHAT FOR THESE ARE PAID??? FOR REGULAR MOCKING OVER ELDER PEOPLE? FOR BRAKING THE UK'S BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS???

SUCH FAKE COMPANY SHOULD BE CLOSED AND THE NICHE GIVEN TO PEOPLE WITH CONSCIENCE, MORALS, ETHICS - QUALITIES WHICH SEPARATES HUMANS FROM ANIMALS OR VERY LOW LEVEL CREATURES.

AMALGAMATED LIFTS IS NOTHING, BUT DISASTER AND DISGRACE OF THE HUMAN RACE. DON'T DARE APOLOGISE!!! I HEARD THAT ALREADY!!!

WORK MUST BE DONE!!!!!!!

Presumably repaired the non working…

Presumably repaired the non working lifts in our apartment about 20 times, yet the lifts managed to break again. Once I had to wait in the lift for somebody to come for 45 minutes. They are playing with people’s lives like they’re joking. They are lucky that they did not get themselves sued yet.
