Trust the reviews
Trust the reviews, and stay far away from this company. They are selling rooms and amenities that don’t exist, and refuse to do anything to fix it, not even a cancellation for selling a room that didn’t exist. At best they tried to blame the hotel, for their own mistakes.
Do not try to use agoda to save a few dollars, they will scam it back from you, with interests.
And the customer support is a complete joke. They kept me on the phone for 48 hours, sending the same exuses over and over again, blaming everybody else, calling to ask for irrelevant questions. Like to ask for a photograph of a room I didn’t have.
Stay away!!!
Booked with Agoda many times
Always check the Agoda site when booking hotels, find the rates very competitive & discounts for regular customers. Easy booking process & good communication throughout
Never ever trust their customer support
Never ever trust their customer service; they claimed to be able to help with resolving a date change of booking, and mentioned a buffering of up to 72 hours before being able to finalize the decision, however no such confirmation ever reached any of my contact information.
They make false promises, and their colleagues would drop your call. They are unprofessional, and their tactic is mainly to drag and waste your time.
I had a good experience with their customer support once in 2025. However this year, their standards have severely diminished.
Do not book on Agoda !
First they cancelled my booking 1 day prior check-in because "they weren't able to process payment" even tho I had arranged payment directly at the property.
Second they are always trying to charge me with a foreign currency and they won't let me update my credit cards details. I'm guessing that's because they make more money on transaction and conversion fees.
The customer service is completely useless on WhatsApp and also on the phone. (Customer service based in Africa) They just ignore your request.
I'd recommend trying to book on different websites.
AGODA's Partner Platform-Very Unpleasant Experience
It seems AGODA works with various partners for hotel booking. However I have encountered one of their partners who are not ethical and trustworthy. I wanted to perform a cancellation due to an error of which my card was charged. Went to the portal to perform the cancellation and within 15 mins a reply was received that the request was rejected the property (the said hotel).I wrote to the hotel to appeal directly to consider my cancellation request but the hotel stated that they did not receive any cancellation request. So I went back to AGODA to check and AGODA said will ask the partner to forward the cancellation request. Reply was received from AGODA that the partner said that the hotel rejected the request. Immediately I wrote to the hotel but they confirmed again did not receive the request. I asked AGODA to check again and for the second time, AGODA came back and mentioned that the partner said cancellation request rejected by hotel. I instantly checked with the hotel and guess what..... no cancellation request in their system. So, has AGODA's partner being truthful? I leave it for you to guess. I am ok if the partner has been truthful and had forwarded it to the hotel for consideration. If the hotel rejects, its perfectly fine with me. But it seems the partner just make their decision without even checking with the hotel. That is the crux of the issue. So yah...no more AGODA for me as far as I am concern.
I was assigned a smaller room then I…
I was assigned a smaller room then I originally booked in s 5-star hotel. The reception treated me like I am a fool and don't know basic math. They didn't hear me out and didn't want to hear anything about the size of the accommodation. They said they don't know how big the Bungalows are. Strange that a hotel doesn't know the size of the accommodations they offer. I was told to contact the booking platform I used which i did. Hoping for a solution meanwhile.
I got scammed by Agoda just recently
I got scammed by Agoda just recently. I booked a non refundable hotel room for one night, Agoda sent me an email confirming my booking and took my money. I called the hotel, there was no booking under my name for that date. There is no way to contact Agoda on their website except a bot chat. I contacted my bank to report the scam and they contacted Agoda on my behalf. Basically Agoda sent me an email saying if I cancel the non existing booking I will not get my money back, they told me to take it up with the bank to get my money back . Big scam - stay away.
Wonderful
The hotel was very good, the price was good too The booking process was seamless, with good Customer Service.
We saved for our summer holiday and…
We saved for our summer holiday and booked a property through Agoda that was shown as available. After payment, we were told the property was overbooked and our booking was cancelled.
Agoda then informed us that the refund could take 30–45 days. This means we cannot afford to book alternative accommodation and may miss our holiday altogether. A refund for a booking cancelled due to overbooking should not take this long.
Very disappointing experience. I would never book through Agoda again.
Upon arriving from overseas we could…
Upon arriving from overseas we could not contact our accommodation, we contacted Agoda eventually got through to an agent, they also could not contact them, o asked for a new booking and was refused. After much arguing they gave $104 compensation which was absolutely useless as prices so higher on the day as we were there for a concert. Will never ever use again, Be careful booking this shower as you could potentially be abandoned !!!!!!!!!!!!
The listing is still Live with Agoda for the listing which is ( The Empress 2 bed terraced house ) in Liverpool.
DO NOT USE AGODA
Agoda makes it prohibitive to interface with their customer service and problem solve. I have been working towards resolution for over 4 months and have been hung up on more times than I can count. The AI funneling and language barrier for all customer service agents makes it even more difficult. I have now had two terrible experiences with Agoda--one where I booked a room with a private bath that turned out to be a communal bathroom, and now this where I was double booked. I have spent dozens of hours on the phone with them and can honestly say that I've never been so disappointed with customer service. I will never be booking with Agoda again.
Do not use this company they booked…
Do not use this company they booked wrong dates and stole my money amatures
2ND REVIEW OF AGODA>w/ details
This is an UPDATE.My account with Agoda was HACKED in South Africa Dec 2025. ) I wrote the CEO MUHAMMAD A. followup emails. There has been no response as of 7/8/2026/. Other members reviewing Agoda have mentioned sending the Letter Before Legal Action AND filing a formal complaint with the Consumer's Association of Singapore and Hong Kong. I shall write both of these. This has been utterly exhausting and completely wrong of Agoda.I would not fight this charge so long and hard but this is WRONG. My account w/ Agoda was HACKED and I want my refund of $280.60. Booking ID: 902504886.
Cannot recommend Agoda anymore and have done business with them for years. Never again> SCAM!
Disgusting
Very bad experience with this company. Poor communication, no respect for clients, and they did not handle my situation professionally. I do not recommend giving them your business. Be careful before trusting this company.
“If I could give zero stars, I would give them 0 stars. 🌟” Stay away 🤮🤮🤮🤮from Agoda

I went online today and booked a 2 night stay in Awana genting via Agoda. My dates were July 24,25and check out 26th all either breakfast. All looked good until I made the Payment online. I got a confirmation email with the same dates but for August 2026. I want everyone out there whom have been scammed by Agoda to stop, please tell everyone to STOP USING AGODA!!! They are not going to admit their mistakes and will not refund you anything. They are SCAMMING!!!
# Agoda refused to review my cancellation request made within minutes – AI responses only
I have been an Agoda customer for many years and have achieved VIP status. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced me that I will no longer use Agoda.
I booked a hotel (Booking ID: 1733883851) for a stay from 1–8 August. Within approximately 3–15 minutes of completing the reservation, I realized that the booking was non-refundable. Since my visa had not yet been approved, I immediately submitted a cancellation request.
At that moment:
* The cancellation request was made within minutes of the booking.
* Check-in was still almost two months away.
* No payment had yet been collected.
* The hotel had suffered no practical loss.
Despite these exceptional circumstances, Agoda refused even to consider a goodwill cancellation.
I contacted Agoda immediately, contacted the hotel the following day, and contacted Agoda again. Every time I received the same template response. I repeatedly asked for my case to be reviewed by a human representative or supervisor, but I was never able to communicate with anyone who actually evaluated the specific facts of my situation.
My complaint is no longer only about the cancellation.
My main concern is Agoda's customer service model. It appears to rely heavily on automated AI responses that repeat company policy instead of allowing a genuine review by a human decision-maker. As a VIP customer, I expected at least an individual assessment of a cancellation request submitted only minutes after the reservation was made.
A company certainly has the right to offer non-refundable rates. However, refusing to exercise any discretion when a customer asks to cancel within minutes—long before the stay and before any measurable loss could occur—does not reflect good customer service or fair commercial practice.
I hope Agoda reconsiders not only my case but also the way it handles customers who need a genuine human review instead of repetitive automated replies.
As things stand today, this experience has caused me to lose confidence in Agoda, and I will no longer use the platform for future bookings.
Poor customer service when kicked out of reserved and paid hotel
After the below review: Credit is due to Agoda for addressing the issue encountered - better late than never!
Was kicked out of a hotel during an ongoing stay booked and paid via Agoda. Customer service pathetic:
1. Just repeated the Hotel's observation that the hotel was fully booked, no action taken to re alternatives, leading to costly night at another hotel booked via another site.
2. Only "action" was to offer a refund + 10% compensation.
3. Later reneged on the compensation, claiming wrongly that the reservation was not made under my account and "Agodacash" could not be provided. Refused to make the compensation another way.
4. Endless standard formulations in customer chat by incompetent staff.
