Too expensive for the value offered is my top line. The dynamic of the session is good, you need to come up with a product/feature and present it into a group (your colleagues), everyone votes for the one they like the most and then you start working on that one as if you were a PO.
On this, they could just ask to do it in advance (homework) rather than using 30 min. of the actual course so you can just pitch it, vote and crack on.
Then all revolves around it which is good however, I was lucky to be in a group where a colleague had a lot of experience and you could learn qualifying/clarifying questions he made to understand what the PO wanted to achieve but bear in mind there is no guidance from the facilitator, form the actual person you're paying.
Do they provide you with tools, templates and so on? yes they do however, you can find them completely free online. So, what am I paying exactly? a pdf it seems.
They offer a 30min. 1:1 after the course, well, I would prefer to do it before the course but then, they don't get paid I guess.
The facilitator sort of assumes everyone in there is some sort of Product Owner (to which unsure why I would be there though other than "my company made me"). It also explains the role of the scrum master which, ok but not everyone has them. So very generic.
This is a 1 size fits all course.
If you are experienced you'll get 2 days off of work I guess.
I you have no experience, YouTube and the scrum and Mind the Product websites are your to go plus get a PO from your company/friend to explain the framework and mindset.
If you are a contractor, you do you.
The real value comes from real life examples; this was the situation, this is how you can approach it, steps to take and the outcome you could expect offering advise to the challenges faced.
Also worth mentioning that it was postponed 3 times from my selected original date.
So yeah, a very expensive pdf indeed.
