Steer well clear of this place
The bad press about this place is sadly true. You don't have to look far to find scandalous reports of security searching through passenger's underwear, disrespecting disabled travellers and traumatising children by confiscating their Disneyland toys. One review's leading comment sums it up perfectly -
"Airport employees are arrogant, aggressive, and abuse their position for things they have no right to do."
After many years of flying I can easily say that this is the worst airport experience I've had. The search through my case (especially considering the bottleneck of passengers) was wholly unreasonable. Every single item that was in a box or pouch was removed and pawed over then cast aside with no effort to return a single item to its container. I'm not even sure why there's a scanner if this level of scrutiny is still required afterwards. I overheard passengers saying "This is the worst airport I've ever known" twice in as many minutes.
My collapsible travel camera tripod, carried on board too many flights to remember, was deemed absolutely forbidden. I asked why and the staff pointed at the illustrations of restricted items, which absolutely did not include tripods. She pointed at the golf club and baseball bat. "This is neither of those" I reasoned. She said I could hit someone with it, while gesturing a hammer motion.
She and another colleague went to fetch their boss (because it takes two), leaving other passengers waiting with zero staff. A joyless man returned to say I needed to go back past the queue I'd been standing in forever to re-check the tripod as hold luggage. I asked if I had time to do that and he said "Non". I asked if I could leave it in lost property to collect if I come back another time and he said "Non". I asked what I was supposed to do and he shrugged.
"So you're just taking a £100 item with no justification?" I asked. Another shrug and he just walked away, taking my tripod with him. I followed and asked for his name so I could file a complaint but he angrily covered his badge and petulantly grunted at me, stomping away with a "pff" and a disregarding wave of his hand. Is it not a legal obligation to provide a first name in France, as it is in the UK?
This is just my version of what many other reviews suggest is a regular occurrence at this place. A French woman in front of me had way over the liquid restrictions in two plastic bags that wouldn't even close, yet she was waved through without issue.
Never again.

It’s a worst airport I have ever visited staff are very rude security is very slow the airport staff checked our flight and he said to wait the line which was until outside of the airport to street, I missed my flight bc of the security checking all the bags in front very slow one buy one he removed my expensive skincare products I ask him at least I will choose and throw which are less value he just throw them, what an inhumane way, they should do better at the end we are tourists I had to buy another ticket bc of this stupid thing

Worst airport ever
I wish I could give a negative rating for this airport. Worst airport ever!
Please do not choose this airport if you have a choice. Rude and arrogant staff!
Going from UK to Paris was ok but the return journey was a nightmare!
First: This airport is not in Paris, it’s 1 1/2 to 2 hrs away.
In the return trip, we were already late due to the evening traffic and on top of that we experienced the rude and arrogant airport staff to make it more difficult when you are in rush.
Second: Please avoid shopping perfumes and cosmetics from Paris if you are flying from this airport.
It was my shopping trip. The airport staff just opened all the packaging of the perfumes and cosmetics to do the security check which were meant to be gifts!
In the name of security, they just opened all the bags, ransacked them and the way they checked the bags was so rude. And the check for liquids is on some different level, even normal hard lipstick and soap bars are counted as liquids for these people. So if you are planning to buy any high end perfumes and makeup from Paris to gift it someone then please don’t, the airport staff will completely ruin them and make it useless.
Had such a beautiful time in Paris which was ruined by the airport staff.
As a frequent traveller, I never had such experience with any of the airports before
Worst airport ever leaves people…
Worst airport ever leaves people infront of you if there late even thought you were here four hours early and have to board the flight straight away may aswell come an hour before your flight because you’ll get priority then
I wouldn't even give it a one star
I wouldn't even give it a one star . An absolute dump of an airport . It will be my first and last time using it. We had 5 kids with us, 2 with autism who found it very hard to queue. We had the autism lanyards around our necks, and when I approached security about skipping the queue we were told that it was only for wheelchairs users. I didn't realise that autism wasn't a disability in France 😕 😳 Then our suitcases were literally ransacked going through security everything was pulled out . My sons ear defenders were even put through the x-ray machine as security watched him going ballistic trying to grab them back and screaming on the floor. Staff are wannabe FBI agents their a joke.... pay the extra few euros and avoid at all costs. NEVER AGAIN
If fawlty towers did airports
We flew in to Beauvais, not realising it was well outside of paris. The airport was in need of some TLC and there were very limited options for food and places to sit. Our experience of flying out of Beauvais was very bad, staff looked exhausted and were trying their best, but it was chaos. Understaffed, outdated equipment with seemingly no process or order to anything. It was all very stressful. This airport is in desperate need of some funding and support/ training for staff.
Humiliating, traumatizing, awful experience
Disclaimer: I fly at least once a month, meaning that I have experience with multiple airports, staff members and airlines
As others have mentioned the airport is small, filthy, and disorganized, but that is not even the reason I rate Paris Beauvais with one star. All the above are acceptable to some extent.
What is UNACCEPTABLE is the staff at the security control. Just for starters they don’t speak English, which again would be acceptable in any other work place, but not at the airport where you’re dealing solely with foreigners. But I’ll let it pass as well.
As I mentioned above, I am an experienced traveler. I know what I am meant to take on a plane and what not to. However, for whatever reason the security control felt the need to check both of my bags, which was not the case at the airport on my way to Paris. But again, I do understand that checks need to be done.
What I do NOT UNDERSTAND, is why they felt the need to go through every single thing I had in my bags, lay all over the desk in front of them my dirty underwear for everyone to see, exposed some other very very personal items with not discreet, almost broke all of my makeup in an attempt to open the packaging, almost threw away my period painkillers and asthma inhalers, opened unopened gifts like hot chocolate powder and Lindt chocolates, for them to not find anything wrong in my bags and to leave all of my stuff out of my bags on a table in front of everyone, for me to repack. And once again, if they were polite I would have let that slide, but I dealt with the most RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL people I have ever encountered.
Please avoid Paris Beauvais airport at all costs, for your mental health. I am still shaken.
P.S. I took photos as proof if they ever claim that nothing of the above happened
Deserves its poor reputation
Just as much of a dump as everyone says: inadequate seating, one overstretched cafe to feed hundreds of people, overstuffed bins, rubbish everywhere, it's out in the middle of the sticks, nowhere near Paris; security and boarding process are an exhausting muddle. I don't expect the airport experience to be great, but it doesn't need to be this ramshackle and dehumanising. And the staff - who were otherwise friendly and considerate - had to cope with the fact that Ryanair couldn't run a decent airline if their lives depended on it. If your package deal offers you Paris Beauvais as your flight option, reconsider and rebook, avoid Ryanair at all costs, and avoid this sorry excuse for an airport. Needs rethought or shut down, dreadful.
Hell on earth
This airport could be compared to hell on earth; a torture chamber; a punishment from the gods above, so to speak. Upon arrival we went to grab some food before going through security - the staff then forgot to make our food. After a long suffering wait in the queue for my food we sat down to eat only to realise the airport was infested with what appeared to be sparrows. When going through passport control we were met with unprofessional staff - a passport control officer wearing a hoodie. Then came the hectic ordeal of security… my belonging had barely even made contact with the tray before the staff propelled it through the scanners. After being rushed through the metal scanner I had to rely on the power of eye contact to decipher whether I had to undergo a second check as the staff opted for a non- verbal approach. After practically conducting the scan my self due to the staffs lack of enthusiasm I then had to watch my, perfectly fine, ziplock bag of liquids be slated for the second time. Because my liquids didn’t fit in the worlds smallest airport ziplock bag (despite them being beautifully packed in a Tescos finest zip lock) the staff demanded I bin some products. Bye bye £7 worth of deodorant.
If you are a member of staff working at this airport: take a long hard look in the mirror and reflect upon your actions from the 13th of February.
Garbage airport
Garbage airport. From the staff, the controls, empting my bags, I won't even explain myself because of how frustrated i am. Respect to the staff who were actually kind.
Airport staff incompetent re baggage allowance
Staff at entrance to security are rude and poorly trained. Tried to prevent me taking travel case (40x25x20cm) saying it was a not a 'small bag', even though it fitted into the metal 'size test' frame. Possibly receiving payment from Ryanair to mislead people into paying higher fees? Was delayed 20mins whilst arguing with various airport staff.
Ignored medical advice from hospital
I had a letter from the hospital to say my daughter could not pass through scanners at security because of her diabetic pump and sensors. They said ok come this way with us. I went through scanner with my younger daughter and after 10 mins wondered where she had been taken. I asked the lady at scanner and she said oh she's been taken to departures. We went there and it was empty. We went back to security and my daughter was there looking upset. She said the lady had shouted at her to go through scanner. Fuming could have ruined her very expensive pump and more importantly made her very ill.
With travels to over 57 countries in my…
With travels to over 57 countries in my lifetime , this has got to be the worst airport ever . Just drop the lack of facilities and seating . The staff are the just the rudest people ever . From bar staff to security they are just plain rude . Peace and love and I hate posting bad reviews but rudeness is not acceptable.
Disgusting airport
Disgusting airport. Tiny, cramped, dirty, minimal facilities, charging ports don’t work. Oh and the security staff are horrible people. Would pay any amount to go to a different “Parisian” airport. Abomination of a place.
A level-headed review
Having spent far too much time of my trip to Paris looking at reviews of BVA and becoming convinced that I'd definitely miss my flight/my luggage would be pulled apart/I'd have to stand for 4-5 hours with no rest, to say I was pleasantly surprised by my airport experience would be an understatement.
Beauvais is a hub for budget airlines. No one should be under any illusion that you're flying out of CDG or another mega airport in a capital city. Could the departure hall use a lick of paint? Probably. Could a few more benches be put in? Absolutely. But as a functioning airport with many flights departing at similar times, it manages the best it can. We arrived at the airport early due to all of the fear-mongering in reviews, but it allowed us to see that the airport tries its best to manage the flow of traffic. There are screens over security confirming when you'll be able to go through passport control in relation to your flight time (approx. 2.5 hours for us, in line with the bag drop opening), and from there through to the end of security, it was barely even 5 minutes until we were in duty free. As I removed my liquids and electricals in advance (as nearly all airports expect and clearly have signposted, as is the same in BVA), there were no issues with security. Duty free is admittedly sparse, but there were signs up confirming that maintenance work was ongoing. The toilets were adequate, and there was a café open for use, as well as vending and hot drinks machines. There were plug sockets (FYI - not usb ports) and, in the grand scheme of things, a fair number of benches - there are 5 departure gates, and 2 of those are in a separate area, so the space is distributed fairly.
In fact, the only issues that I could see occurring were from fellow passengers themselves! People with luggage double the size of the restrictions were being asked to pay the fee at the gate, but this should not be a surprise for anyone who spends even 30 seconds looking at their boarding card information. Likewise, an outgoing flight was held, but this was due to passengers being late to the gate (the call was done in English, French and the language of the flight destination, so there really were no excuses). If people try to blame the airport for this, then they should be taking a longer look at themselves.
I'm ultimately reviewing BVA for what it is; a budget friendly space to travel for those of us who don't want to break the bank.
The worst airport I have ever been to
The worst airport I have ever been to! They checked my underwear, clothes… even i separated liquids, and computer apart.. they even opened my handbag and open a chewing gum box that was unopened. Also, my sunglasses… really unprofessional! The computer did not mark any kind of alarm but they were extremely bored and were looking even at the bras… after unpacking the baggage, they left it open without returning things back. Plus, they do not speak english, spanish or any kind of other language, just french.
One of the worst airports I’ve been in
One of the worst airports I’ve been in! Completely unprofessional and disrespectful staff that creating its own rules. Nobody speaks English, we had a delayed flight and they didn’t allow us to get out, even when the airport was completely full that there was no place to stand or to sit.
They took from us chopped meat by claim that it is liquid…
Worst airport I’ve ever been
Worst airport I’ve ever been. Airport closes at 11 pm too… we got kicked out and now we’re sleeping in the cold weather outside .
I definitely don’t recommend flying from here
AVOID at all costs. Worst airport ever.
I would give this no stars if that was possible. Actually the worst airport that I have ever been to. Herded in like cattle. Not enough seats. Not enough floor space to sit for everyone. Dangerously over crowded. There was a gate sitting empty but we were not allowed to sit at it (even though it was our gate). No reason given. No common sense or humanity shown by the staff. I would advise none to fly in/out of here. Pay the extra and go from CDG. This place is literally hell.
