Great garden centre, lovely friendly and helpful staff. Amazing aquatics centre and an onsite coffee shop, what more could you need!!
I needed a water pump on a budget for my son's fish tank to run a chiller so called Acres and was told that they had some that did 600+ l/hr which would have been perfect. I asked about the price and was told "twenty quid". As it was mid afternoon I asked about the closing time and was told 4pm everyday. I arrived at 3:45 and was harassed about how they were trying to close up and basically told me to be quick. I explained to the man who was in the aquatics section (which looked like an upturned skip) that I'd called recently and came for the water pump that did 600+l/hr for £20. His exact words were "no way, we don't do them for £20", so I asked what have they got in stock. I was shown pond water feature pumps all over £20. As I was on a tight budget I asked what have you got for around £20, and was told in these exact words "Nothing that's good quality, I can sell you some Chinese sh!t that won't last you 5 minutes". Really helpful when all I'm trying to do is keep our axolotl healthy.
Eventually I conceded and had to part with more than anticipated because of the heatwave. I ended up with a 1000l/hr pump and being told at the till by another member of staff "Don't bring it back!" because I was given a generous £2 discount!!!
FYI the pondXpert pump is rattly and noisy as hell so will be replacing it as soon as funds allow however I certainly won't be sourcing a replacement or anything else from Acres in the future.
If I could give a negative 5* review then I would.
I can't recommend enough that everyone avoids this place.
Ordered topsoil to be delivered. Location was a bit awkward and involved lifting bulk bags over a hedge. Driver was very helpful and achieved what i wanted. the soil was excellent. i would highly recommend this company
Great staff, great value for money and a pleasure to deal with. We will be back!
I would never ever use this company either through their website or through Amazon they will not send your order
