I feel compelled to write this review after what has been an extremely disappointing experience.
After using Dyson products for around 20 years, I decided to try a different vacuum based on the recommendation of one of the sales staff. I was initially considering another model, but a salesperson who told me he also owned cats convinced me to purchase the Akitas Pro, describing it as a mid-range vacuum with excellent performance. Unfortunately, my experience has been anything but excellent.
As a cat owner myself, one of my main requirements was a vacuum that could effectively pick up cat hair. Unfortunately, this vacuum has a very frustrating problem: when I vacuum forward, it picks up the cat hair, but as soon as I pull the vacuum back, the hair comes back out of the brush head. I raised this issue with the salesperson, who blamed the rug. However, I have used Dyson vacuums on the same rug for years and never experienced anything like this.
Unfortunately, that was only the beginning. The vacuum was accidentally dropped from a height and broke in half. I fully acknowledge that the damage was my responsibility, so I paid for a replacement of the entire main upper section of the vacuum. Once the replacement arrived, all I had to do was attach the tube, and I essentially had a brand new vacuum.
However, the replacement has its own serious problems. It makes an extremely loud whistling noise, to the point where I cannot comfortably use it while my husband is working from home. There also appears to be an issue with the suction, which is simply not performing as I would expect from a vacuum at this price point.
I am genuinely disappointed as I had high expectations when purchasing this vacuum, particularly after taking the advice of a salesperson who assured me it was an excellent performer.
Sadly, this has been nothing but a frustrating experience. I would not recommend the Akitas Pro, and after this experience, I will not be returning.
