I've been buying groceries from A&C for some years now. Customer service has been outstanding, and the many gifts of wine, olive oil and other pantry staples have been much appreciated. There are good... See more

At Abel & Cole, we’ve trailblazed sustainable shopping since 1988 – doing food right from day one. What started with selling organic potatoes door to door has grown into a network of trailblazing farmers, sustainability experts and dedicated shoppers who all share the same passion for the planet. For over 35 years, we’ve delivered delicious, planet-friendly food, drink and more to homes across the UK. When our shoppers unbox their delivery, they can trust that it’s filled with top-quality groceries. Like high-welfare meat from award-winning farms. Responsibly caught, MCS-rated fish. Artisanal bread from family-run bakeries. And farm-fresh fruit & veg grown as nature intended. All ethically sourced from growers and makers who put the planet first and sustainably delivered in our returnable, reusable boxes. We’re proud to have built long-standing relationships with our farmers. We commit to paying our growers fairly, never squeezing them for profit and planning our boxes around their seasonal harvests. That means our iconic Fruit & Veg Boxes are always filled with the freshest, organic crops – grown sustainably with zero artificial pesticides. And for every Fruit & Veg Box we deliver, we donate fresh fruit & veg to fight food poverty through our One Box: One Portion charity initiative. We go the extra mile to make every shop sustainable for our customers. We say no to pointless plastic – that’s why there’s 77% less plastic in our Fruit & Veg Boxes than the same items from some of the biggest supermarkets. Our growing Club Zero collection gives shoppers over 100 zero-waste refills to choose from, slimming their bins even more. And as part of our Packaging Promise, we’ll always take back anything that can’t be recycled at home. Even collecting our customers’ flexi-plastics from any shop through our Plastic Pick-Up Service.

The range of products is large and those weve had have been good. Their commitment to recycling the packaging is a stand out point

I've been very impressed with the veg boxes, everything has been fresh and tasted good. It's also good to be able to buy other staples I find hard to find elsewhere that I like.
Their delivery driver has been parking his truck in my garden for which I have spent a lot of money on. Over the course of time my block paving has been damaged. Only found out when I caught him yesterday, although had suspicions. He has also been swinging the door open inside my garden which has damaged my fencing. Why park in my garden when I live on a quiet side street that has plenty of layby parking?
If you value your property, don’t order from these cowboys. Why should I have to cough up the damage you have caused?
When I complained, they didn’t take it seriously. No remorse. Just told me they would pass it on to the relevant team, never heard anything since. Disgusting.

You have a very good service. I am happy in every way. Thank you for providing me with the best and delicious food at the right time and day.
Able & Cole is simply a fantastic food provider. The quality of the produce is exceptional, deliveries are always efficient and reliable, and I really appreciate their strong commitment to sustainability. Great products, great service, and excellent value for money, highly recommended!
I had prior warning of the approximate time of delivery. That's important, when the weather doesn't always make it possible to leave the packaging out overnight.
Then the delivery/collection was on time.
The fruit and vegetables are good quality and taste good. The Fruit / Vegetables boxes have plenty of choice and the option to swap if you don’t like what’s in there. In my opinion far superior to a supermarket if you’re looking for organic fresh produce. I like the fact that a lot of the items are in paper bags and not all wrapped in plastic. I like to buy the venison as it’s not available in my supermarkets. The yoghurts and kefir they sell taste delicious and come in glass jars. The website is easy to use.
Would recommend to anyone
Very good customer service when veg quality wasn’t as good as we expected

We have been with Able and Cole for 2 years now. The produce is always of the highest quality. They have excellent customer service. We have had some produce going off and they refunded with no fuss. We also had some products that we didn’t like personally and they took care of that no fuss as well. They have a wonderful variety of products to shop from. I always look forward to the weekly box 📦. Can’t praise Able and Cole enough!
I placed an order whilst I recover from surgery.
Abel & Cole in their wisdom decided to deliver my order and dump it outside the communal door of the building, ironically beneath the intercom system without calling it.
35 minutes after the alleged delivery, I received a text message stating my order had been delivered.
As a result, I tried to look for my order yet there was no sign of it. Eventually I found it outside of the communal area of the building.
I lifted the order as there was nobody available to assist me. This resulted in me having to seek medical attention due to the surgery I had recently undergone.
I then raised a complaint with Abel & Cole, only to then receive an email three hours after the delivery to state the order had been delivered with a photograph of it left outside!
Having raised this with Abel & Cole customer services, I was told that there were no instructions on my account at the time of delivery to suggest Abel & Cole were allowed to disturb me prior to 7am.
However, prior to placing my first order this year, a member of staff categorically stated that orders will be despatched from 4am and that I should expect to be called at the point of delivery regardless of the time. However, he also told me that based on other orders in the area, deliveries were generally made after 7am!
Following the lodging of a complaint, I was then contacted in respect of the matter.
I was offered a credit of £100 on my Abel & Cole account and a reimbursement of today's order.
Given that I was intent on the deletion of my Abel & Cole account, I declined the £100 credit.
Instead, I requested reimbursement of my taxi fares to and from the hospital as a result of the injury I sustained due to picking up the delivery.
The advisor then sought to investigate this further and obtain guidance from their manager regarding the reimbursement of my taxi fares. I was subsequently called again and told the order had been reimbursed but they weren't able to reimburse the taxi fares which were significantly less than the proposed £100 compensation.
I was also told the advisor who advised deliveries resumed from 4am hadn't physically actioned this on my account and that my account had been activated following that conversation.
Despite being told to reconsider my Trustpilot review as it does not apparently reflect Abel & Cole fully, I reiterated that I was only confining my review to the facts of what I had experienced.
The customer service advisor was apologetic and showed a great deal of sympathy for the grief I had endured.
I have since requested deletion of my Abel & Cole account and submitted a right to be forgotten request under GDPR. I certainly won't ever utilise Abel & Cole again nor await for someone to empty their basket with the unrealistic hope I could ever purchase a pack of their biodynamic eggs!

Quality produce - started using Abel and Cole over 35 years ago when they had just started and organic produce was not a big thing. Restarted using them during Covid and have continued. It is useful that they provide a range of products including dairy, cleaning which I can use to top up.
Great tasting, healthy and sustainable produce, and fantastic customer service (the best I’ve seen honestly). Could be less pricey, hopefully if more people join.
As a repeated customer, I have only love and gratitude for this company. Starting from customer services, then the prompt delivery, competitive prices and quality food.
Many thanks!
Fab fresh food, fab customer service - highly recommend. Get away from the supermarkets, you won’t regret it!
The products are great. Just the boxes are so bulky, it is a pain to store them each week. Can I ask to get deliveries in a paper bag/bags? I can return those for reuse too…
