There is no humor on this site. It's just a series of reposts from X, TikTok, and other social networks. Every third post is a reference to some pornographic site. Many years ago there was clever dark humor, but now there are only posts with the clear intention of preaching irrational hatred toward racial and religious minorities. I hope this site ceases to exist someday; it's an abomination of human existence.

Does not deserve even 1 star.

After a year of using this app to find funny memes, I finally got fed up with how poorly the content is maintained. I like dark humour and crude jokes, but the place is filled with uneducated imbeciles who think “dark humour” means anything involving someone with black skin. It amazes me that the mods allow all that racism to stay up, yet anything even slightly prejudiced toward LGBTQ groups or religious beliefs is removed instantly, even when it isn’t offensive.

Memes in other categories are like trying to find a needle in a haystack. One meme out of every 100,000 useless upload is actually funny. The rest are a complete waste of time and not even worthy of being called memes. The idiots on there do nothing but complain and flame others harshly and unmonitored, with zero filter, if a meme has been posted before — as if people are supposed to scroll through hundreds of thousands of images first, or they didn’t see it because some racist moron uploaded it and is already on their block list.

I was blocking hundreds of uploaders a day and it made no difference. There are just too many brain‑dead idiots on the site going unpunished for uploading things only an uneducated fool would find remotely funny.

If you’re a complete racist, a nazi, a homophobe, or have an IQ under 10, this site is perfect for you. Otherwise, avoid it. It should be shut down for allowing such mindless hatred and racism to go unpunished.

Dont get me started on all the political b.s or bots that infest everything.

Chinese bulls***

It's like they do their best to get rid of users. I deleted my account and app because it's become a cancerous community of political propaganda, but I still browsed every now and then from my PC. Now, every page scroll there is a pop-up forcing you to login. No thank you. I'm done.

Disappointment after disappointment

If I could give 0 stars, it would be the closest rating for this site. Having been around for over 10 years, I’ve witnessed the downward spiral of 9gag,

Content theft from Reddit and Tiktok

The use of bots to post threads, deleting real users who were active in the community. 9gag’s goal is no longer to create a community around MEMEs, but simply to generate traffic, in order to make money through empty ads, and various side websites promoting NFTs, or shady scams,

Pro-Left, Pro-Ukraine, Pro-Israel propaganda. Expect to be insulted, mocked, or even shadowbanned if you dare to have a different opinion,

A community based on the American incel movement, unbearable,

A new wave of content from the "new generation" with ADHD, it’s ugly, it’s insulting, and there’s no theme or coherence, just posting crap,

In short, 9gag used to be a great thing on the Internet, but it has become nothing more than an insult to MEME culture,

The same couple of hundred posts…

The same couple of hundred posts getting reposted daily by bots that are employed by the site itself.
Original content in very, very short supply; in fact it's debatable whether real people still visit the site anyways. Bots reposting and other bots hating on the reposts is a regular occurence. A lot of poltics, ofc maily posted by bots.

Site is de facto dead only kept alive by bots that repost stale old content from 10+ years ago. Strange that advertisers would pay for that, but what do I know...

Censorship of speech site and politically bias

Used this site about two years. Used to be allowed full free speech but lately they been going the way of Youtube and they shadowban your comments or outright delete them. Its become a full on propaganda site of the left and majority of users are nothing more than NPC parrot selling their political slogans.

This made me decide to delete my account and go find a different site that does allowed free speech without shadowbanning commnets because of feelings.

I use this App for over 10 Years now.

I use this App for over 10 Years now.
It is just horrible, the censorship is off the charts and every opinion that is slightly different and you are a Russbot automatically. A lot of salty and hateful comments, it was unbearable for me as a Woman. There is nothing funny anymore just an empty Eco chamber for angry Men.

Seriously most of your comments get instantly shadow banned without any indication.

They are just milking it for Add revenue now. Abandon Ship and never look back.

There are better sites. Don't go there

Shadow banning comments if you want to give context or prove your point (even links to wikipedia!! wtf?!?!) but propaganda all over the site is ok. Content gets worse and worse - would not recommend.
Deleted my account. Will search for an alternative.

9gag should be called 9propaganda.

9gag should be called 9propaganda.
Nearly every section of this website/app is spammed by mostly ukrainian propaganda and anti-russian hatred. There's russian propaganda aswell, but the ratio is like 25/1 for ukrainian propaganda. This propaganda includes aswell comments in those posts. Sometimes, it's even pornography or gruesome content. This is a platform full of HATRED. Very bad atmosphere. Even if people report those posts/comments, nothing is done. We see all the time the SAME accounts spilling their political bulls*t. And new bot/propaganda accounts appear everyday. Why not BAN via MAC adress or physical device (smartphone)?
It's a meme FUN website for god's sake. Not a political platform. There are better places for talking about politics. Like X or else. Political posts should be simply forbidden. Just remove "Political" section from 9gag, and dedicate some moderators to remove undesirable contents/comments and accounts, particularly in the "Latest news" section.
Because of all of this, I just LEAVE, despite the fact I've a pro+ membership than I won't renew, and the fact that I allowed all cookies and partners.
Extremely disappointing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
You want to have fun? Don't go to 9gag.

Heavy censorship

Heavy censorship. Your comments are made invisible in seemingly random fashion. If you double-check your comments you'll often see that almost third of them are hidden now regardless if you are saying positive things or don't break the rules.
Instead of fighting spam-bots and ads that still plague the website they implemented an extremely sensitive filters that get randomly triggered if you write more than 2 sentences. It feels like only certain narratives are allowed, creating a false image of a wide user agreement on certain topics and hiding any skeptical voices.
If you're looking for freedom of speech and an open forum to discuss various things, avoid. If you want to look at bot-provided cat pictures and one-sided propaganda, it's your best bet.

There is no war in ba sing se
