Definitely not worth it for me

Definitely not worth it for me. I joined because the excited hype drew me in, but a few months in I have got nothing from it at all. The only things I may have found helpful, it turned out you had to pay extra for. I'm not sure what I was looking for when I joined but it certainly isn't what I'm getting.

A Great Children’s Writers Community!

WriteMentor is a positive, developmental, supportive, friendly and uplifting community for Children’s writers. The force is definitely with them, they’re all so lovely and I find Stuart’s videos so honest, down-to-earth & warm, like he’s everyone’s friend.
They really are good people.

Support AND Instruction

The most supportive community for writers of children’s literature. All the free information, podcasts, and interviews on various social media is amazing. I was so impressed with that, and with WOWCON, that I recently joined as Hub level two member, as my birthday present. Now I’m even more impressed with the support, encouragement and writing resources and help available there! The team are just amazing.

Supportive and friendly community

The WM community and resources are fantastic—I have a really supportive critique group through the Hub and enjoy sharing the ups and downs of writing life, as well as feedback on one another’s work.

I enjoyed the WMLit course, particularly the ‘catching an editor’s eye’ module with Simran Sandhu, which was a brilliant opportunity to learn from an editor at Macmillan children’s books, as well as receiving an individual opening edit. Having a tutor group led by an experienced author was fantastic for asking hundreds of questions (Lindsay Galvin was really open, honest and supportive) and I enjoyed Liz Flanagan’s book analysis course, which had an exciting reading list and some lively discussions. I personally preferred the zoom sessions to those run through slack, but I love that there are different formats, which helps make the offering accessible to people with different styles of learning and communicating.

The WM team is always really helpful and friendly; when I had an invoice issue it was resolved really quickly. I love the WM ethos that ‘writing can be lonely, but it doesn't need to be’ and I’m really glad I gave it a go.

Essential for aspiring kidlit authors!

Hands down one of the best resources out there for anyone wanting to learn about/break into writing for young people. Such a welcoming, inclusive, supportive community where agented/published authors offer their expertise to those less experienced. A wealth of learning available, some of it free, all of it excellent value - courses, mentoring, tons of information about every aspect from craft to querying and beyond. And most importantly, just a lovely bunch of people :) Highly recommend!

Write Mentor is invaluable to chidren's writers

Write Mentor is a great community and learning organisation that's invaluable to children's writers. Run by passionate and caring writers who genuinely want to help other writers, it has consistently been the most accessible community for writers even before lockdown forced companies to become available online. They were the first to run an online writing conference weekend - WOWCON - and continue to run these annually along side daily opportunities in their friendly helpful hub. Their prices are always more affordable than most without any loss of value, and they even award places to increase their inclusive aims. I couldn't recommend Write Mentor more.

Wholeheartedly recommend

I would wholeheartedly recommend Write Mentor to anyone who writes for children - from picture book through to YA. It is an incredibly friendly and welcoming community - I'm honestly not sure how I got by before joining in January this year. There's a huge amount of information available through webinars and workshops, with access to published authors and agents who are so generous in their sharing of advice and tips. I've also found an amazing critique group of kind, clever and supportive people. It has been an absolute revelation. A brilliant forward-thinking organisation that seems to care deeply about its members.
