writing this review because my other one has been appealed by woop, maybe they dont like people reading the truth about them..
August 2019 paid £1824 for my son to insure his car(17 and new driver). black box was fitted and all was ok until we moved house in december.
WOOP said for change of address we now have to pay £1414 and if we dont they going to cancel the insurance.
I explained that there is 3 other cars in the household and each respective insurance company has charged approx £30 per vehicle for same change of address..
WOOP replied "you have moved to a high risk area,,£1414 outstanding to pay or we cancel your insurance.". I appealed their price rise, and surprise surprise their own loss adjusters agreed that £1414 was a fair price to pay for a change of address.
We moved within the same town and similar NE24 postcode..
we have cancelled the WOOP insurance and have reported them to the financial ombudsman service..we also got my sons car insured again for less than what WOOP wanted for an address change.....
the dictionary states the meaning of the word WOOP
"a loud cry of joy or excitement".
They most certainly shout that when they charge£1414 for change of address..I would have given zero stars if I could.

Please read this review before parting with any money..
My son passed his test and we did a search for the cheapest car insurance,,WOOP was the cheapest with telematics.. £1824 for the year, in august 2019 we took out the insurance.
There was a few occasions when my son got a notification on the app for braking severely.. ( emergency stops to avoid people pulling out at roundabouts, they didn't even ask for an explanation just told him he was driving badly and it would affect his future quotes).
In December of 2019 we moved home from an NE24 area to a different NE24 postcode area, we have 3 other cars in our household, we each informed our respective insurance companies and paid the usual documentation fee most insurance company's ask,,£29.50 for myself, £30 for my other son ( 18 and only been driving for 1 year) £ 0 for my wife( lucky ).. WOOP on the other hand wanted £1414.. yes it's not a misprint £1414 for change of address,,they would only say we were now living in a higher risk area ( helmland province in afghanistan is probably less)..when asked why other company's didn't charge thousands, their reply was
"its a higher risk area now pay up or we will cancel your insurance." We appealed, their own loss adjusters said it was fair price to pay. We now have this case at the financial ombudsman service..We now have insurance from a very reputable company and are very happy with TICKER. So my advice would be give WOOP a big NO CHANCE and use someone else,,anyone else,,You have been informed,, now make a choice..I would have given no stars if possible,, But am unable to..

could've offered a better deal
I’ve been driving for over 6 months but still didn’t get a choice to drive without a black box (would’ve happily paid a little bit more) but still not a choice, but offered me a cheap price with a box and a good deal

Poor customer service
I’ve been trying to get in contact about cancelling my insurance for 2 weeks by ringing, emailing and sending letters but cannot get through! Awful customer service- wouldn’t recommend.

Took 4 weeks for my box to be fitted
Took 4 weeks for my box to be fitted , had to phone multiple times to get them to correctly send my details to the installation company . And now it's installed I Can't access the driver portal to see my score as they didn't send me my login details. The website they use to see the scores barely works aswell. Not worth the hastle .

I wouldn’t suggest anyone to use this company
I recently had an accident, woop has changed to another company now and they are not helpful& very rude . Every time I called regarding my accident they said they would call me back which they didn’t. This dragged on for 2 weeks n I didn’t even have an idea were my car was, when I called up they said my cars not with them. So I was fuming & I told her to find out because that’s her job and then she said my car was moved around so that’s why they didn’t start the job on my car and she didn’t know we’re my car was. This lady called Sophia said I will get a compensation after the end of the claim because they messed me around. It’s been few days, yet no one has bothered calling me regarding my compensation. I’ve been with them for 2 years and this is the service I receive. I don’t think anybody should use the woop telematics. Normally their fine but the claims team are not helpful and that’s the first person you talk too.

They have taken 2 deposits out of my account yet have failed to provide me with any insurance documents and haven’t given me any indication that my policy has started, I’m assuming I am under cover as they have taken my money

Very competitive prices for new drivers but shockingly bad aftersales service. We reported a claim on 1st August, and are still chasing them to respond to our numerous calls and emails some 4 months later. Hoping this poor review may prompt a response.
