Written by the company

Women's Consortium Working towards strengthening valuable lives Women’s Consortium offers free training, therapy, and other activities that promote wellbeing, foster balanced mental health, and enable people to reach their goals through advice and counsel. Women’s Consortium believes everyone is valuable and aims to encourage every individual to maximise on all their personal strengths and build on their potentials. Our mission is to promote wellbeing of everyone and provide accessible opportunities for all people to enter society without judgment and bias. The vision is to create opportunities in the community for people to access a range of services to create a restored lifestyle. Recognizing a lack of facilities fully focused on addressing the needs of women, Women’s Consortium began by providing services for women only and then expanded to provide services for all people. As many women feel safer and more comfortable in women exclusive environments, WC continues to some offer services and program for women only. We offer an array of services from therapy, both clinical and alternative, to fitness classes, and a variety of workshops. Our fundamental aim is to enable people to reach their goals and empower people to realise their self-worth. The workshops have been so successful that local business and later larger organisations have requested that similar training be offered for their staff fulfilment. This created the opportunity to expand our services by providing bespoke training to organisations upon request. Women’s Consortium seeks to support everyone to go from where they are to where they want to be in life. As the motto says, we want to strengthen valuable lives. A variety of trainings are offered to businesses at a competitive rate. We offer a range workshops from soft skills such as confidence building and public speaking, to social workshops including Equality and Diversity, and more practical workshops like Business start-up. Whatever your company is looking for, we can help.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Caroline for the incredible support she gave me during one of the most difficult periods of my life. I was going through a very hard time after a traumatic relationship experience, and it felt overwhelming. As a psychologist, Caroline supported me with great patience, understanding, and genuine care.

She helped me see my own strength when I couldn’t see it myself. Through her encouragement and guidance, I slowly began to believe in myself again. She helped me rebuild my confidence and reminded me that I deserve to live a happy and peaceful life.

Caroline also went above and beyond to support me in practical ways. She did a lot of research and helped me find helpful contacts for housing and different organisations that could support me. This made a huge difference and helped me feel less alone during such a difficult time.

Thanks to Caroline, I found the strength to move forward, heal, and start building a happier life. Her kindness, dedication, and compassion truly made a lasting impact on me, and I will always be deeply grateful for her support.

Life-changing EMDR therapy

I found the EMDR therapy Ambrose Koryang performed to be of enormous benefit in allowing me to start to process the trauma I suffered in a more rational manner. I feel the treatment has been life-changing and perhaps life-saving in helping me to start to move forward in my recovery. A truly fantastic therapist and organisation.

Helped me with unresolved trauma in a short space of time and had left me with techniques that I can continue to use over time to gain independence with understanding and what to do with my feeling and thoughts. Service was warm and friendly, knew what I required and delivered it swiftly. Was very happy to hear that number of sessions was adapted around me as an individual. Overall therapist was honest and kind, great at communicating what I needed and how to achieve that in the time I was given.

Great experience, very worthwhile

I had a great experience doing CBT with Iqra. Having done therapy before through a different source, the difference was obvious and I really felt listened and catered to for what I was struggling with.

I had come in with a prior understanding of why I think the way that I do, so she adapted to focus on how I can become better equipped to live alongside my issues as I had asked her to.

I am very grateful for her hard work, and chatting to her always felt very worthwhile :)

I did have some admin issues; I didn't receive any e-mails prior to our sessions and my triage session was attended by someone else(?). This meant my therapist had incorrect information going in, but it did not meaningfully affect my experience overall.

I was referred by my GP to Women Consortium. At first I was hesitant but after meeting Iqra it was the best decision ever. Iqra is kind, caring and patient. She made me feel comfortable around her in our sessions and I did not feel judged. Iqra has helped me a lot to get to the to stage where I am at now and I am really grateful for her support. Womens Consortium, Iqra Qasim

I worked with Iqra Qasim for CBT to challenge my social anxiety and low self-esteem. She was amazing from start to finish and never felt like I was working with a trainee. She helped me through working on real vs. hypothetical thoughts and I now feel more equipped to deal with my emotions in the future. She was kind, sensitive and helpful every step of the way.

Iqra was amazing

Before CBT, I often felt a victim of my anxiety and felt that I’d never be able to escape it. I was constantly overwhelmed and struggled to navigate my own thoughts and emotions. I got referred to Womens Consortium by my GP, and had 12 weeks of CBT with Iqra.

Iqra really helped me understand and learn how to control those feelings within our sessions and with the exercises I was given to do. There were many eureka moments throughout my treatment, with the interactivity and homework tasks I was able to take these lessons into real life and really make a change. It really helped having someone who was as empathetic and relatable as her take me through this, it made therapy fun and engaging, not the daunting or even scary thing I thought it would be.

I couldn’t recommend CBT and Iqra enough, it never felt like she was a trainee, she always had a great balance of professionalism and personality. Thank you!

CBT with Iqra was amazing

I have had 12 weeks of CBT with Iqra qasim from living consortium . At the beginning of my journey I was overwhelmed all of my emotions was uncontrollable I often cried and got very stressed in situations, as each week passed I become more aware of myself from the support and guidance from the tasks I was set. I was challenged in a positive way to respond to my actions and thoughts how I have never before.
Iqra is patient, understanding and such a lovely human who really made me feel heard and listened to everything I had to say without judgement. I am now on a journey to put all the pieces together what I have learnt and I am feeling positive towards the change that this therapy is making on my life.
