Cancelled 1hr before boarding.
Cancelled 1hr before boarding.
Not sure what the problem was, but given the 10hr delay, one could build a plane or walk back to Bogota in less time. Never again, Wingo. The only ones who win are the company, not the passengers.
Airline is cheating customers
The airline did their job in requesting the migration form for domenican republic and gave me 5 mins.
I completed in 3 mins and after that they told me to late airplane left.
They are cheating customers which is unacceptable. Despite of the gate employees managing international flights don't speak English. What a shame for an international operating airline.
A story no one should have to live…
A story no one should have to live through.
I’m 18 years old. Just a kid who wanted to go back home. I paid 1,500€ — my last money — for a ticket from Medellín to Greece. I arrived at the airport three hours before departure. I stood in line patiently, holding onto nothing but hope and my boarding pass.
Then they told me: “Wait, you’ll board last.” So I waited. And waited. Watching other passengers go through. No explanation. No update. Just waiting.
And then — right in front of me — a lady simply closed the boarding gate. The flight left. I was left standing there, shocked, alone, and completely ignored. No one from Wingo explained anything. No one spoke English. No one took responsibility. They just shut the door on me.
Imagine being 18, stranded in a foreign country, broke, exhausted, and humiliated. I had to beg — literally beg — for money just to find a way back to my own country.
Shame on Wingo for hiring staff at an international airport who can’t communicate in English. Shame on them for showing zero humanity or professionalism. You didn’t just cancel a boarding pass — you crushed someone’s only way home.
MOST UNTRUSTWORTHY AIRLINE
The most untrustworthy airline at all! When I tried to check-in online I notified that I didn’t have a seat. When arriving at the check-in in the airport they told me there was no seat for me available and that I had to wait until volunteers wanted to give their place in return of free hotel and transport. The personnel was very rude and not even willing to be friendly to tourists and willing to help at all. Very stressful moments of not knowing if you will be able to get on the flight or not. TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT!! Bunch of pocket thieves. 0 stars!!!!!
Met with unprofessionalism and lies
Denied boarding then the employee checked me as a no show even though I was there begging to board. The reason for denying me was that I didn't have a return trip booked yet. Employee told me that I could book one on the spot and be allowed on if I could do it in 5 minutes. I managed to do this and I was still denied. Very unprofessional and basically ignoring me looking straight ahead when I tried to reason with them or ask for information on what to do next and who to talk to about changing my ticket. If you can, avoid them.
SCAM!!!!!
You cant call yourself an airline. You are worse than a fake taxi!!! THE BIGGEST SCAM IN MY LIFE!
Worst Airline there is
Worst Airline there is. They send you emails with many information at the bottom is one small sentence that says you have to check on online or you have to pay a fee. Really annoying.
Avoid this airline at all costs
I tried to check in on the way to the airport and it said my reservation had been canceled. When I got to the desk I was told the same thing - they told me my credit card did not pay them - I showed them the proof of payment Wingo sent to me, as well as the charge on my credit card statement and was told the bank never gave them the money. When I asked why I wasn't notified, I was told it's not their responsibility to tell customers that they have canceled their flight. I was left stranded at the airport. They gave me a customer service number to call, which I have tried for the last 4 days, but it keeps disconnecting and now I am having to try to go through my bank to get my money back. This airline is an absolute scam - they got the money, but did not provide service or refund
Never Again!
I will never ever ever travel with this company again.
I was able to check in at the counter upon departing Mexico for Colombia with no charge but was charged $200,000 COP just to check in at MDE Airport.
Also, make sure you pay for extra baggage upon booking…if you try to add it to your booking later, it will allow you to add items but will say they can’t proceed with payment. (It’s only $25Us online and $150US at the counter) so obv there is going to be a “glitch” with the online payment.
All in all, the tickets are cheap….but the experience isn’t worth all the BS.
DO NOT FLY WINGO AIRLINES
DO NOT FLY WINGO AIRLINES. APPALLING
My wife and I were not permitted to fly from Colombia to Panama. We were refused entry onto our flight in case we absconded into Panama illegally. We have been travelling the world for a year and a half. We showed our tickets from Panama to Australia but that wasn't good enough for the disgusting manager and Wingo staff. They wanted to see USA Estas as well ( the free transit certificate to use LAX which i didnt need yet). The Colombian Copa Airlines manager said Wingo were being ridiculous. We lost $509 usd and the staff at Wingo were smirking as we purchased the same flight 6 hours later with Copa Airlines without any ridiculous Esta requirement or even ongoing flights !! WORST AIRLINE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED
Couldn’t check in online - got charged 500 USD
Got charged 50 USD because I couldn’t prove that their checkin didn’t work. Now I arrived 2:50min before the flight and was still charged because I wasn’t there 3hrs before the flight when the internet checking closes.
Trust me, avoid this airline. I have been flying with 100s of airlines and this is the worst one by far.
Avoid, they will scam you out of your money.
Scammers
Wingo cancelled our flight tickets without letting us know, no email anything. We found out cause we tried to do check in and couldn't find the booking. The customer service agent told us to book another flight, which we did, and then ask for refund. We asked refund and 2 months later we are still trying to receive refund. We have been contacting Wingo for the last 2 months and all the time they say that they escalate the case....
Wingo overcharged me 139 cad for…
Wingo overcharged me 139 cad for luggage where it should have costed 50 cad according to their website. They are thiefs
Terrible service at gate and check in.
10 hours before the flight we tried several times to check in. The app wiuld let us check in. The previous flight we manage to check in online.
At the airport the staff was really rude about this. And said: we have to pay to check in. We explained that we tried several times. But the only answer was: you had to make screenshots.
They said it in a really inpleasend way!!!
At the gate the same persons were there. They didnt say anything and were really rude to us.
I will not recomend this to anybldy.
If wingo wants the name of the employés they can send me an e-mail.

Screenshot your check-in attempt
Oh, where do I even begin? Silly me for not realizing that in this ultra-modern, high-tech age, the absolute best proof of a check-in attempt is a good old-fashioned screenshot. I mean, it's only 2024, after all. Who could possibly expect systems to have reliable records or even the capability to troubleshoot issues without that precious screenshot?
I should have known better. Clearly, the onus is on the client to foresee any potential hiccups and document every step with detailed screenshots. Because why would the company want to make their own process foolproof when they can just rely on us, the ever-vigilant clients, to do their job for them?
Next time, I’ll be sure to have a camera crew on standby to capture every single interaction, just in case. After all, it's not like I have anything better to do than to document my every move. Thanks for the enlightenment!
A happy customer
Before I booked my first Wingo flight, I read all the terrible reviews and was very hesitant. However, now I have flown with them twice, (Lima to Bogota, and Medellin to Santa Marta), I wanted to report I had a very good experience both times! Flights were on time and clean. I read all the instructions carefully and had no issues whatsoever. (Well, one minor glitch trying to check in on line, but was resolved after several attempts). Wingo was considerably cheaper than Latam, Avianca and Jetsmart. I travelled with carry on only and knew the rules (no checks were made on the weight or sizes). Would definitely travel with them again.
LUGGAGE DAMAGE NO SOLUTION
I travelled from Cartagen to Bogota with a new luggage that I bought just few days before my trip. The luggage arrived with multiple cracks where it is not possible to be use again since one of the wheels was also broken. I reported the problem with pictures as evidence since it looked like someone dropped it from a height but I was told nothing can be done because that is a minor damage. A minor damage where as a new bag can not be used again? A minor damage where I have to pay a credit for a bag that I will never use again? They have no office at the airports so all the damages and complains have to be done by email and the answer you get is like a robort gave the response or someone just copied and paste without investigating the case.
AWFUL service. SCAMMERS. BEWARE!
Terrible service. First, the response time and clarity of the resply is terrible. The resolution of my case was carried out by an incompetent group of people who do not have the decency to answer the questions you ask them. Aside from that, more than 2 answers by bots, and only 2 INCOMPLETE answers by "humans" who do not take their job seriously. Having to resource to the call center to get answers, and even so the agents of said call center do not even have an idea of their policies or do not even have the power to solve the issue. All the refund policies they have are absurd. Charging withholdings, not being aware of the payments made by the user, and not responding to questions or giving the user any options is an insult, especially when the cancellation and refund request is DUE TO ILLNESS, a reason that is beyond control of the costumer.
Seriously, this has been the WORST experience I have ever had with airlines. That being the case, if I were the owner of this company, I would close my offices and dedicate myself to another profession, because the lack of training, the lack of seriousness, the lack of information, the lack of customer service, the lack of honesty, does not deserve to be witnessed by people who take the time to give a new airline a chance because "it may be good, it may be worth it", and simply have all that trust torn apart and thrown away because of the lack of respect that they have towards the customer.
Wingo is a company full of useless workers and jerks. What a disappointment, and I hope this company never prospers, because no one deserves to have such a despicable experience with this service.

Now I’m out $500 and need to find another way back home.
Think twice before buying from Wingo. I purchased two tickets from the Wingo web site. Panama to Cartagena Colombia. Never received tickets but they did take my money. Wingo claims I never purchased tickets, now I have to make a dispute with visa to get my money back . Stay far away from Wingo
