Well i havent used my Wimdu account in 10 yrs and wanted to restart using it, however could not find any login on their website. So i wrote to them more than 3 times to no avail. Lack of service and professionalism. 1 star is even too much, should be 0 stars!

Honest and clear performance and follow up of the bookings. Only improvement I can think of is that there is no Android App available to manage your bookings.

This company takes months to answer its clients and they have hidden fees which the client does not see when paying for the booking, not to mention all the scammers that are on the website.

Great appartment! Very nice welcome and a nice spot in the city centre! Just go!

Do not book thru Wimdu. Trying to book a villa at Ibiza we got in contact with a fake company - Kingly Rentals - and found out they steal peoples id's/pictures. Their web changes all the time - new names, new pictures. So be careful. Do your research - and for good sake - AVOID Kingly Rentals!!! They're fake.

They do not have phone contact and d'ont answer e-mail. I rent my house through them and they transfer my money (1750€) to a fake account. Do not trust this site.

it should be standard if hosts gave their mobile number just in case. I came to the apartment and nobody was there. i was lucky my host replied to my email like 5 minutes later.

Good service, well thought out. Communications first class. Well set up and thought out. Would use again.

Bad service Wimdu
From 7 to 11 December we had an apartment from Sue and Claude in Paris.
A 3 bedroom apartment on Rue de Veron. When we arrived it turned out that this apartment was nog available because of water damage. The host tells us by telephone that we had to go to another apartment on Rue de Gabrielle 1. This apartment was cheaper and it only had 2 bedrooms. There was not enough space for the 6 of us.
We said to the host/Claude that this wasn’t what we’ve booked. This man Claude was not reasonable and quite aggressive. If we do not agree with this apartment we could sleep on the streets.
Because there was no talking with this Claude and we had no choice we’ve stayed in this apartment.
As a result, had to 2 adults sleep on a sofa bed in the living room as old and bad was that you was lying on the ground. After returning home the two adults could go to the doctor because of back problems.
Within 24 hours we have contacted Wimdu and several times afterwards. The solution according to them a air bed ... well that was leak. So that wasn’t a good solution.
Because we want to enjoy the rest of our holiday. We email Wimdu and said that when we are home we contact them again to talk about a compensation.

When we are back home, we immediately contacted with Wimdu and their reply was you have accepted this apartment so we can’t do nothing. We had accepted the apartment because we had no choice. Do you want us to sleep on the streets?
Also, they already paid out the host/Claude. That is strange because this apartment was a lot cheaper than the other one.
This is not how you treat your guests. Because Wimdu and Claude treated us very bad and do not come with an proper solution. They also don’t want to give us the overpayment back so that’s why we put this on the internet and Social Media. With this post we want to warn future guests. Book no apartment from Sue and Claude in Paris. Also don’t expect too much from Wimdu when you’re having problems.

This organization does not check who the sellers are at their site. Anyone can set up an apartment and rent it out. Also not existing homes or that of someone else.
Wimdu gives no information to fraud. I am now still waiting for 1800 euro that has disappeared.
Do not book with Wimdu very dangerous

In searching for an apartment in Germany we came upon Wimdu. We found an interesting set of options, we made a choice and booked. We discovered that we got what was promised. A good website, many choices, a simple booking procedure and an organization that can be trusted. Wimdu: good choice!

Athens: Very nice room with upgrade to airconditioning. Cheap, but in the worst neighbourhood of Athens. Walking home at night did not cause any problems though due to increased police activity. Hosts were very friendly and warm, well organised.
Brussels: "Bed and Breakfast" did not include breakfast, which was a big bummer as we arrived in the evening. Very overpriced for what we received. Negative aftertaste because we paid way too much for the service (or lack of) that we received. Far out of the center.
Rome: perfect stay, upgrade to airconditioning in room (we got really lucky that our host was away for the week). Perfect to reach in the night, safe neighbourhood.

Overall I think Wimdu provides good service and value-for-money stays. If you pay 190 euros for 7 night for 2 persons, don't expect miracles. Online booking and direct booking are always without problems, and with many rooms canceling a booking is possible without having to pay much, or without having to pay at all.
Besides this, hosts are usually friendly! I recommend Wimdu.

Why is our reservation for 7december15 til 4 januari 16 on Ocean Front suddenly cancelled and refunded? By coincidence we saw on the bank account that the money was refunded. We were not notified at all, that this would happen . We can’t find your studio om the WimDu site anymore.
What’s the reason?
Can we still make a new booking please?

we were scammed by a property on Wimdu - which W said they had completed their 3 point checks. we were led onto a false/mirror website with payment details. Despite 2 families being scammed of €2500, Wimdu took no responsibility and wouldn't help investigate why their 3 point security failed. They have since removed the scam property BUT we are left without any cover. Really shocking.

Wimp worked very well, is easy to use and seems to be trustworthy. I had a very positive experience

Do NOT book with WIMDU. WIMDU supports fraudulent hosts. When we booked the apartment ‘close to the market’ from host JOSE in Valencia via WIMDU we received a booking confirmation from WIMDU stating that a deposit of 100 EUR was required. Directly after booking we were spammed and stalked by the host Jose via email, SMS and telephone to directly pay the security deposit. After payment the host Jose could not be reached again to discuss arrival time, etc. One (1) day prior to our departure on the 12th of October 2014, the host Jose cancelled the reservation, something we heard via WIMDU. We did not receive any communication from the host. WIMDU could not offer an alternative, so we were forced to book another hotel in Valencia. Since then we tried to get in contact with the host, to request our deposit back. However two weeks has passed and the security deposit has not been returned. The host is unreachable, apparently in the ‘hospital’. And WIMDU states that there is nothing they can do!

However you can still book the apartments of Jose in Valencia at the WIMDU site. No negative remarks are made by Wimdu on the site, although the Terms and Conditions state so. No warning is given to potential bookers that a deposit is only to be given cash and not upfront. And finally Wimdu provides no support to us to get our money back. Since the booking form states that a deposit is required, we hold WIMDU responsible and accountable. Basically WIMDU allows hosts through its system to continue their illegal practices. Do Wimdu and the host share the deposit? So DO not book at WIMDU. THEY support illegal practices.

Its been the third time i rent a house via wimdu and i couldnt be happier.
Its easy and fast!!!
And once in a while you ger nuce discounts on houses.
Since i saw their commercial on rge newspaper i never looked at hotela anymore.A house in a country you wanna visit makes it more of a home and you have freedom to do what tou want,wake up whenever you want and even cook your meals.
I suggest it to everyone thats whats to go on holidays!

Wimdu was a great experience. It is really nice to stay in an appartement in stead of a hotel
