Birds of Prey Experience. Fantastic!

I received a Birds of Prey Experience day as a birthday present, this was my first time doing anything like this and I absolutely loved every second. Theo was so friendly, his knowledge about the birds of prey was fantastic and his passion for what he does really made the day special. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

Fabulous Experience with Birds Of Prey

We booked the Experience during our stay at Heaver Castle. Tom our Falconer met us with Cora on his arm. The moment we met Tom to the time it was to say goodbye was exceptional. Tom is clearly very passionate about his job. All the birds of prey we had the pleasure of meeting were fabulous. You could see the birds were respected and cared for. Tom chatted to our small group throughout our experience sharing his knowledge about being an experienced falconer and the individual birds of prey we had the privilege of meeting, and having on or arms. A wonderful experience. Thank you Tom and all the birds of prey.

£90 for nothing

Had an issue in my loft, called their pest team to take a look.

Someone showed up, poked his head up the ladder, and said they can’t help until we get the loft boarded.

He left within 60 seconds. They then harassed me for £90.

Useless, lazy, never again.

Absolutely incredible day today

Absolutely incredible day today. Booked in for the bird of prey experience and honestly what a memorable day it's been. Vicky was our wonderful host for the day, introducing us to the birds, telling us all about them, showing us the ropes and giving us a fantastic experience flying and feeding them. I am deeply grateful for this experience and will definitely be making a return. Please give Grayson, Luna, Owlfie and Ivy an extra piece of meat from us, we miss them already. Meeka, Baldric, Neo and Hatchet also deserve extra treats for being such a delight to see.

Whether it's through buy a gift or just a visit, a trip to Willows is a MUST for a true bird lover.

Vicky, thankyou so much for making today so special for us. You were a fantastic host and we are incredibly grateful to have shared today with you. Keep on being awesome! ❤️

Visited on 29 Dec and was very disappointed. The whole place seems very rundown with dilapidated, small enclosures for the birds of prey, that did not appear to have any nest boxes. The raven and macaw, both described as intelligent birds had no enrichment in their cages, leaving them both looking very bored.

As mentioned by another reviewer, the worst off animals were the guinea pigs - no hay/straw, no warm box to cuddle up in, dilapidated hutches, no fresh food or grass. The male, living on his own, does not even have the benefit of companions to huddle with against the cold and damp!
The pigs - walked past one of the areas for the pigs - very little hard standing available, distinct lack of bedding in the shelter which was falling apart. The majority of the pen was deep mud, at one point the poor pig was swimming!

A Great Place

Such a great place! Raising awareness of these beautiful creatures, whilst looking after them professionally. The staff obviously love their jobs.
I had a two hour private Birds of Prey Experience, and it was brilliant. David, my guide, was knowledgeable and great with the birds. I got to handle three birds. Should have been four, but the bird was unwilling and the bird's will rightly comes first.
I highly recommend this place. It needs more exposure as it is currently quite small and amateurish, tucked away at the rear of a garden centre.

Could not recommend this enough

Could not recommend this enough. We booked the 2 hour experience and handled a variety of birds of prey and owls. We also got to watch a variety of birds fly with their handlers. Nick (the main guy) is a great handler and you can tell he absolutely adores the animals and birds here. For the whole 2 hours he manages to capture the whole attention of the group and he is very entertaining. He is a credit to Willows. The other handlers were great too - they were all very friendly.
Our group ranged from small children to adults and we all held the birds. A nice day out and would definitely go again. We travelled from Essex to come here. The only thing I would recommend is to watch the weather forecast and wrap up warm as it was quite chilly when we went today!
We even ran over an extra half an hour with the time, which was no bother or concern to the team. It was a great day and experience. Thank you Willows :)

Great time in great surroundings

Had a wonderful day meeting and holding lots of the birds, learning all about them and some of the sad stories of how some ended up here. The staff are obviously devoted to the birds and their well being, the whole place is clean and well kept. The are staff friendly and know a lot about the birds and other animals in their care.
