Information provided by various external sources

Wild Idea Buffalo is unlike any other meat company. We began with a vision of actually improving the eco-system of the Great Plains. Our buffalo are raised on the wide open spaces of South Dakota where they eat only the native grasses beneath their feet. They spend their whole lives roaming freely on thousands of acres, and never see a feedlot or slaughterhouse. The result is better lives for the bison, the restoration of over 100,000 acres of the prairie, and sweet, delicious red meat that is actually good for you. Not such a wild idea after all!

great quality

I was a little apprehensive about ordering from a company I knew little about but really wanted to try there product. The shipping was extremely fast, accuracy of the order was spot on and the product was incredibly good. Great flavor, and texture. I would recommend this company to everyone I know

High praise for your products

At the request of a friend I went online looking for Bison as our local source was no longer in business. My friend is very familiar with Rapid City so you were an easy choice except....we found another local source too! So I placed my order with you because the information was so clear and well written. Your products arrived in record time and in perfect condition.
The meat and sausage is delicious and I plan to order more around the holidays.
Thank you, Ruth in Bellingham Washington

First time customer, mediocre impression

After my order arrived, I had a question regarding one item. It was a strip of buffalo steak, however it's exact label was not on the sheet included with the shipment. Some items are precook end, others are not. To get a clarification, I sent an email to the address shown on the web site. In the email I apologized for being a neophyte but was not sure if I should eat it or cook it first. The label did not indicate which. I did not get a reply. I have gotten promotional stuff wanting to sell me more, but no answer to my question. Conclusion: they must not want little guy customers like me. I grew up in Nebraska and really expected them to be friendly Guess not

I have tried many suppliers of Buffalo.

Extremely pleased with the timely delivery, quality of products, packaging and price.

I found the ribeye more tender than the strip steak. The pepperoni surprised me as to the taste being comparable to the non buffalo ones that i have eaten over the years.

Try it I believe you will not be disappointed.

First try...

Well, I bought 2 packs of buffalo hot dogs and 2 oz of the kippered jerky. The package came within 2 days of shipping, well packed and still frozen solid. We sampled the jerky right away and it was very tasty, soft and easily chewable. Never been a big fan of the jerkys you have to battle to taste. We grilled up a package of the buffalo dogs. The skin was crisp and not chewy. However, the flavor of the dog itself fell a little short of my expectations. I've had other types of buffalo and bison meat and this was actually a little bland and not particularly juicy. Though they were definitely not your conventional hot dog, I don't know that I would buy these again. Sorry... Now, I could eat a pound of the jerky so maybe that's the next purchase. :)

This is the good stuff

It's getting increasingly difficult to find quality organic meat, raised on pure, GMO-free grass, and these guys have it. The difference is absolutely clear in the taste and nutritional value.

Ok meat!!!!!!!!!

Not too bad for my first time,it's always good to experience something healthy,I had the sadness of having one of the package cut opened due to the hardness of how it was frozen when it arrived, I smelled something anusual than I'm use to , but I ate it anyways...and also I had the bad luck to over cooked the fine meat, it is pricey for what happened to me. I'm not complaining about the company at all, I know it was my fault, except for the cracked package.

So Happy!

I'm so happy that my buffalo arrived 99% frozen with standard 3 day delivery to Arkansas. It's fall, the temps were probably up to 80 in the day and 50 at night. I just had some of the ground bison yesterday and the 95% lean meat agreed with me wonderfully. I'm so glad I found Wild Idea Buffalo Co!
