Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 85 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complain about the excessively high prices for mediocre and low-quality goods across multiple departments. Shoppers often encounter spoiled, rotten, or expired food items displayed on the shelves. Additionally, consumer service is frequently described as unhelpful, and employees can occasionally appear rude or dismissive when asked for assistance. Some reviewers were happy with certain staff members and specific store products. For instance, a few people praised exceptional employees in the fish and specialty departments who provide outstanding service. Others mentioned enjoying particular brand products or finding decent freshness in specific items, showing that positive experiences still happen occasionally.

Wholefoods gone warehouse

Online shoppers have overrun the store. They are rushing through the aisles with their big carts. Blocking the isles and bumping into customers. I had a horrible shopping experience twice this week, at the Glastonbury Wholefoods. My perception was validated by a nearby shopper who was also exasperated with the chaos and lack of awareness from the online shoppers. Wholefoods is no longer a pleasant wholesome place to shop and eat. It’s morphing into a warehouse experience with a high price tag.

I am very upset with whole foods…

I am very upset with whole foods HIGHLAND VILLAGE location
My review was blocked because of my honesty about the leadership and department management issues that keep going on.....first of all, we all have a first amendment right to freedom of speech, even if it seems to affect the overall experience with all whole foods customers. Team members at this location are treated so unfairly and severely underpaid.....whole Foods makes the decisions who can voice their opinions and who cannot. That's very unfair and a critical violation of freedom of speech and the first amendment rights

My opinion is that Whole Foods Highland Village location is terribly unfair and knowingly and critically violates Team members rights and gets away with it.....
Not so sure I want to shop at a big multi billion dollar corporation who is to scared and nervous of employees voicing their opinions......

I had a bad experience with them…

I had a bad experience with them recently, when you go to their store you are already aware of their overprices, however my wife found this APP toogoodtogo and a deal they had for $10 which to our surprise was a good deal from this place, however, after she bought it what we got was half of the food already spoiled, the other half wasn't in the best shape but eatable. I think spoiled food that smells bad should go to the trash not to customer because it could poison people. Bad Whole Foods!

I am a regular Whole Foods customer

I am a regular Whole Foods customer. Yesterday I purchased two 50% off sandwiches. 1. turkey and chedar 2. tuna fish. Both were terrible. Absolutely no flavor, stale bread, made me almost choke. Don't buy sandwiches at whole foods.

I have shopped at Whole Foods for years…w

I have shopped at Whole Foods for years. This complaint concerns store at 30th and Biscayne Blvd.

I have never had such a negative
Experience as this insulting situation.
I was harassed by a Scruffy white male who was unclean in appearance. I Needed to take two plastic forks from the dispenser, when this man walked up to me. Put his face near mine and said, "why don't you just take them all?"
I told him to mind his own business. He gave me the finger. This is not only insulting but threatening as well. When l complained to management and to Police officer working off duty security. Manager told the man to sit away from me,he refused.
Nothing more was done.
I asked for my moneyback.
Whole Food had and still has issues with the public.
One new issue. They approve of customers being harassed by people just wandering into the store to just hang out.

Fresh produce & meets aren't so fresh any more :(

This is for the Santa Clarita Whole Foods. Since Amazon took over this brand this store has gone down the tubes..Their "fresh" produce (fruits & veggies) have consistently been well past their freshness prime, wrinkled organic whole peppers, soft/squishy zucchini, summer squash and English cucumbers, lettuce soaked from their "misters" (which the slim it creates causes mold..gross) and their mushrooms are usually very slimy and dark brown (for their sliced & whole prepackaged mushrooms). I dont know if Whole Foods is not training their produce dept employees or now that Amazon acquired the business, has told them just leave the over ripe decaying produce on the shelves maybe it'll be bought. Needless to say, this long time Whole Foods shopper is starting to go elsewhere for fresh produce and lately even this store fresh meats in the meat dept. cases is looking pretty nasty (dar brown for chicken breasts/cutletts due to air exposure). I just am saddened Whole Foods sold their excellent product to Amazon knowing that their claim "fresh organic food will be made available to all at better prices" was a crock of sh÷+...Their organic and/or fresh food is now old and past freshness and really the prices have not really dropped here in Santa Clarita, CA. What a shame!

Whole Foods is Whole Waste

Whole Foods has a yearly revenue of approximately $6B but chooses to landfill product instead of donating to local food banks. I recently landfilled 942 cases, 8,478 lbs, of privately labeled product valued at $52,208 because the product has been discontinued and Whole Foods refused to allow donation to food banks. These large corporations must be held accountable for the disgusting waste of resources and the complete disregard for humanity by choosing their private label over feeding the homeless. The material is a "waste" anyways, why waste it at a landfill, when it could be used at a food bank.

Religious vegan discrimination

I am a religious strict vegan. I had placed an order with Whole Foods through Amazon today. In the notes, I stated that I am a strict religious Vegan and please do not place any food that is not vegan into my cart (or bring it to my home). However, and I don't know how this happened, but it doesn't matter… I was delivered animal carcass hot dogs. I contacted Amazon Customer Support and explained the situation and that I am appalled and repulsed by this action that brought an animal carcass into my Vegan home. I had to dispose of all the groceries and had asked for a full refund …and that the tip for the fulfillment has been reversed.

I was advised that they would not do anything about this other than refund the amount for the hotdogs.

These are the two people who might dealt with:
Liz - supervisor
Hadold - customer support

food is disgusting

food is disgusting, has become worse and worse, stopped eating there as would get sick after eating from the buffet, none of the locals eat ,from there anymore since a long time, it has such a bad reputation in terms of food and staff, no idea who they are catering for, the foodnis like one imagines prison food to be like, sheer slop. last time there wanted to buy organic salad asked a petitie woman working in the section, she said, oh we don't do that anymore, as she walked away, I looked, and the organic lettuce clearly on shelf . I have to wonder if these people are OK or if they just don't give a hoot. none of the. buffet foodnis organic or the freshly made juices/ frozen fruit is used and they have done this since the day the opened. the security staff target people of a certain demographic for no reason and don't seem to know their job at all. the dining area is full of strange people/ homeless and people sitting all day there , its noisier than McDonalds,Locals just avoid it now/ all their branches/ I suspect it will close down soon / as other places you can buy exactly the same products and with good staff service

Just Because it is sold at Whole Foods does not mean it is healthy for you. Make wise decisions!

I thoroughly enjoy shopping at Wholefoods and visiting with the staff. My Whole Foods Market is like home to me. The way I shop in Whole Foods is a bit different. I am there not for packaged goods, but live foods, Kombucha, and nourishing live organic foods. Several years ago, before the Amazon Merger, I taught nutrition classes at my local Wholefoods. It was a treat for the shoppers. After the merger, those classes were discontinued. Shoppers need to be observant and not assume that WHF is a health food store. It is a grocery store. Get off your cell phone, pay attention when buying any fresh, live foods. Don't assume its good because you are shopping at Whole Foods. Ask questions, research products, read labels, eat clean and most of all don't believe it is "Whole Food" because you purchased it at Whole Foods. I love WHF, I love the staff at my local store, our management team is awesome, available to answer questions and appear to work well with staff and customers. I will always be a Wholefoods girl.

Whole Foods Customer Service fails to deliver

Yesterday at Whole Foods at 808 Columbus Avenue in NYC where I shop all the time (5 days per week)--after checking out and beginning to exit the store, I felt something wet on my ankles, and I realized I must have a leak in my bag. I stopped, looked down and saw a leaky trail from the bottom of my Whole Food recyclable bag back to the checkout counter. I went back to the cashier I had just left. The bottom of my bag had gotten soaked and ruined by the amount of Whole Foods 365 Glass cleaner which had leaked inside my bag because the nozzle wasn't firmly screwed on the cleaner. I asked if Whole Foods would replace my Whole Foods recylable bag which I had bought from them a while back (they don't give them away). I was asked to migrate to the Customer Service line to plead my case where the man there informed me that if I had put the groceries in my back pack, they wouldn't be able to replace that. However, I had not put them in a backpack--I had put them in a recyclable Whole Foods bag that I had purchased a year or so earlier. And I was pretty sure that if it had been a paper bag that I had purchased at check out, and the bottom had become soaked through, they would have replaced that! The open Whole Foods product (the glass cleaner) had now rendered my bag unusable. Not only would he NOT replace my $2.19 bag (plus tax), he CHARGED me $.10 additional for a paper bag in which to put my groceries to get them home after a Whole Foods product had rendered my recyclable bag unusable. Even though I had brought my own recyclable Whole Foods bag which I could no longer use because the glass cleaner had saturated it, he still charged me $.10 for the paper bag. They took ZERO responsibility for the fact that their product leaked into my bag and made it unusable. He never apologized for the bottle of glass cleaner having leaked in my bag, or the fact that some of it splashed on my leg, or that it ruined by recyclable bag, rendering it unusable. No--he was about charging me $.10 more for the paper bag and the $2.19 + tax for the purchase of a new Whole Foods recyclable bag. No wonder Jeff Bezos is worth $238.2 billion dollars if they're that hard line about shopping bags at Whole Foods. I came home and contacted Whole Foods, who did nothing about it other than listen. One girl at the Whole Foods help line stated that it was not possible to replace the recyclable bag without my repurchasing it. I was not trying to pull a fast one on Whole Foods. I've shopped there years without incident, and I spend about $300-400 there per week which is not nothing (15K to 20K annually). But if this is how they treat their customers, I can just as easily go to Trader Joe's at 670 Columbus Avenue, Key Food at 733 Amsterdam or Westside Market at 2589 Broadway. And will.

The guy at Amazon return counter

The one star goes to the unprofessional, uncaring individual who handled the Amazon return desk on the 9th of July, 2025. His mishandling of our returns to Amazon causing us to file a dispute with our credit card company. When my wife went back to ask for his help, he refused and he was also very rude.

Bad experience

I have shopped at Wholefoods for over 20 years. I used to drive from Fredericksburg, VA to the Springfield, VA Wholefoods because there were no stores near me.

I now live in Richmond, VA and shop at both Wholefoods; mainly the one that is blocks from my home at 2024 W Broad St.

Last evening I stopped at that store to pick up dinner items and a bottle of wine. I was asked to present my drivers license which I did and I also pulled the temporary paper license out stating that my license just expired on my birthday July 7, and I had not yet received my new license. I am 61 years old and do not look like I am possibly younger than 21. My expired license showed my age and photo and the temporary license showed the new expiration date.

A manager was called over to authorize my purchase of the wine. He told me the store policy does not allow approval of the expired or temporary license. I said that was ridiculous. He said I am sorry but it is store policy.

I spends hundreds of dollars at Wholefoods every month on groceries. That ended yesterday. I will no longer patronize a store that does not accept a valid DMV document as a form of I.D. and that embarrassed me in front of a line of customers and inconvenienced me by causing me to drive to the other side of town in order to purchase a bottle of wine to serve with dinner.

Shame on Wholefoods. I will be sharing my experience with all of my neighbors and writing reviews of this deplorable experience.

This Whole Foods no longer safe

The large and luxurious Whole Foods in the newish Hudson Yards neighborhood of New York City is now allowing booze in its cafe, which means the store is no longer appropriate for children. On Saturday, a grown man, well dressed and waving an open bottle of wine, screamed the c-word at three different young girls, calling them "white c---ts," prompting the obviously terrified father of two of the young girls to abandon their food, buckle them in their double-wide stroller and flee, yelling at the top of his voice for security, which when it finally arrived took no action against the perpetrator, in fact treating him like a valued customer. When security walked away, the perp turned on me and my 11-year-old daughter, screaming obscenities at us and threateningly swinging at us an open bottle of wine. Security did zero.

The Hot Bar Food Has No Taste

The hot bar food has no taste. I got smoked collards and mixed veggies with tomato sauce—no taste whatsoever. It's like a hit or miss. The peanut butter cookies are good, and I have one with lunch if they have any. They know they run out easily. Please keep them in stock. Very disappointed—Whole Foods off Peachtree Industrial. Ga.

I reported a serious incident involving…

I reported a serious incident involving mistreatment that strongly appeared to be racist and discriminatory by an employee in the seafood department. What shocked me most was not only the behavior of the employee, but also the store’s refusal to take any meaningful action or even acknowledge wrongdoing. According to the manager, I will receive neither an apology from the employee nor any follow-up from the store. He would not even attempt to verify what happened while I was still physically present in the store. If this is indeed Whole Foods' policy, then it explains why such racist behavior is allowed to persist.

To the employee: If you do not want to interact with customers respectfully, why not work at a place where you do not need to deal with customers? That way, you will have no opportunity to mistreat customers, and more people will be happy.

To the store manager: I hope you and your family will never be mistreated like that in any place by any employee like yours, and if that unfortunately happens, the issue will be resolved effectively by a good store manager—not like you.
