BEWARE - they cost way more than they say

I would not recommend Brightside Moving group for the following reasons:
1. The guy I spoke to when I first called got me a very low quote based on the fact that he only listed boxes for what we would be moving instead of including the furniture I mentioned. The low quote is what got me to book with him in addition to what I thought was good customer service. When I asked if things could be added He said ‘you can add a golden elephant and a grand piano and the price won’t change’. Turns out that was absolutely not the case.
2. When another guy, Mitch, called to go over the specifics of our move the price doubled…he said that we were now taking up too much space in the truck and the cost is per cubic foot. That was not what the original guy had said. We could not afford to pay more. He said he gave us a discount and was able to bring it down some. We went over all furniture, including measurements of each piece, box count, etc. we agreed to the new cost.
3. When the actual movers got there they said we were over the estimated cubic feet Mitch had quoted us which is very concerning as we had gone over everything in detail. We were over by another $2k, which is not what we had agreed to pay, this brought the new cost back up to double the original quote. When I called to discuss Mitch said someone would reach out soon. Someone did call and say they would ‘see what they could do’ but then never called me back…when I called customer service they also said someone would get right back to me which no one ever did.
4. The bottom line - DON’T book with these people unless you are planning to pay double what they quote. They are very sneaky and give you the hard sell to get you to book with them and then bait and switch when you actually move.

Awesome job!

Absolutely brilliant service, very professional cannot fault it. As our completion got delayed by a day, this company were very accommodating to our needs.

Hideous customer service

Hideous customer service. Several furniture items and valuable art pieces arrived broken. Was told to contact Nicole in customer service for reimbursement. It became a game of cat and mouse. I’d call and be told she was “unavailable.” That she’d call me back. Never did. I’d call and be told there was no job # in my name. That I wasn’t “in the system.” I’d call and manage to catch Nicole herself on the phone, only to have her tell me she’d call me back and/or email me the reimbursement form. She never did.

Thousands of dollars paid to have them move me. Thousands of dollars in broken items, only to be treated with zero respect and zero reimbursement.

Run from this moving company, don’t walk.

Brightside Moving Group provided…

Brightside Moving Group provided excellent service to us in a cross country move that was completed today. Communication with Scott was also very helpful to work out the logistics our move required. The moving van driver, José, was a Joy to work with! I would highly recommend Brightside Moving Group for your relocation transportation needs!

I had a great time working with this…

I had a great time working with this firm. It was smooth from booking to delivery. The final bill was also really affordable, and Daniel provided me with a cost breakdown. I'll use their movers once again!

Bait and switch Doubled my quote at time of moving

Make sure you do not ever ever use this company/moving broker. I originally spoke with a sales person. I had pictures of my house on Zillow. We went through all the pictures and find all of the furniture. He gave me a quote and I paid half. a few days later, I got a call my customer service rep who told me many things were not on my quote like boxsprings and tables, etc. they told me the Mover would be there on certain day and then the day before the move they called me and said the mover was coming that day. I was not available to do that when Mover actually came it was not Brightside moving but a company called map movers. It appears Brightside is just a broker got there which was the day of my move and this was an interstate move. They told me my cubic feet was half of what I needed on the quote and told me they would have to add another $3000 to my $3500 quote I was helpless and there was nothing I could do. I had to pay it when I told the guy and explain the situation. He simply said if you don’t want it, we leave now which would’ve left me unable to close out my house. I called Brightside back and they had no explanation very little apology and no resolution. Both of these companies are , highly unethical do not use them under any circumstance

Hi Scott, we are sorry that your move did not go as planned. I think a fair amount of this may be due to miscommunication which is understandable. Moving is a time in which everything is changing and there's lots of paperwork for work, housing, utilities and of course the move itself. For example, you actually reviewed and signed paperwork for Map moving when this was initially put together with you original paperwork. When it comes to the inventory I believe you were referring to your Quality Assurance call. So you initially put together an inventory with the original coordinator, reviewed the paperwork, signed off and made your deposit. Closer to the move we have a Quality Assurance department who reaches out before the team comes out to confirm and see if there are any changes. Unfortunately i think you were very busy because it seems there were a couple rescheduling's and the actual call took place while you were outside of the home. So many of the things you were adding to your inventory were left off the list. This caused a surprise on pick up which is something we try to avoid. As far as resolutions go we are somewhat at the customers mercy regarding inventory. We can only prepare for what we are told is being moved. We apologize for the issues you've encountered during your move. We are working daily to improve our processes. Your feedback is an important part of that. We appreciate your business and wish you the best in your new home.
