Very happy with the service level and attention to detail

We had been very unlucky with buyers and 3rd time lucky but each time we lost a buyer White and Sons helped us through and we are very grateful for their expertise and friendly staff who went above and beyond to help us get to the stage of exchanging contracts. Thank you to all staff at Horley White and Sons, particularly Steph.

Cedric and his Team are exceptional and…

Cedric and his Team are exceptional and go the extra distance to make the selling experience as smooth as possible.
They All spent time to make it a personal touch, rather than some of the larger Estate agents. I would not hesitate to use White & Sons for any buying and selling properties.

Inflated Deposit Claim – Over 75% Rejected by Adjudicator

I had a very disappointing experience with White & Sons regarding the handling of my tenancy deposit.

At the end of my tenancy, they attempted to claim £1,244.80 in deductions from my deposit, covering cleaning, decorating, and alleged damages. The scale of this claim immediately felt excessive and not reflective of the actual condition of the property.

I challenged the charges and the matter was referred to the Tenancy Deposit Scheme for independent adjudication. The outcome speaks for itself — the claim was reduced to just £315, meaning over 75% of what was initially demanded was rejected. Most notably, the entire cleaning charge was dismissed.

This raises serious concerns about how the original figures were calculated and presented. Had I not challenged this through the proper process, I would have been expected to accept a vastly inflated and unjustified deduction.

As a tenant, you rely on agents to act fairly and reasonably. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with very little confidence in that process. I would strongly advise others to scrutinise any proposed deductions carefully and not hesitate to escalate disputes where necessary.

This is an extremely unusual situation. In the unlikely event that a tenancy deposit has been referred to the TDS we have historically had all claims upheld. We need to investigate this situation further internally. I would like to reassure you that this process is a well-trodden path and we endeavour to remain as objective as possible with very transparent procedures. We can only apologise for the confusion this situation has caused, we will be taking this up with the TDS.

Lucy at the Horley office has been…

Lucy at the Horley office has been wonderful and extremely accommodating with any issues that have arisen during the sale of the property. The whole team there have been very helpful and Lucy has gone over and above with her professional approach and liaising with the solicitors involved, so 10/10 White &Sons!!! Will definitely recommend!

Moving to the countryside

From start to finish the whole process was made so easy with regular updates both via e-mail and telephone of the property purchase. The professionalism of Jack, Cedric and all the staff has been exemplary, it's been a pleasure to deal with them.

Close to 9 years as a tenant in a White & Sons managed property. Throughout this time, their service, support and communications has been absolutely first class. Regular visits to ensure all was well and any maintenance issue was attended to promptly and efficiently. No hesitation in recommending W&S ... 10/10 in all areas

selling with white and sons.

I recently sold my flat with White and Sons.

I appreciated the initial meeting with Andrew he was super polite, professional and really respected my reason for selling and my property.

Rebecca T then became my point of contact at the Reigate office and again super professional throughout really was helpful and genuinely impressed with how she approached the sale.

I enjoyed the updates, they were only prompted when necessary and not pointless calls.

Andrew came out to the flat with marketing strategies and I honestly appreciated the hard work.

If I was to buy or sell I would use W&S again. Thanks to the whole team. Great effort!

Positive viewing experience

Poor and dishonest communication

Absolutely shocking with their communication to shareholders. One of the Directors, Debbie W, outright lied and when I called he out and asked for honest and transparent comms, she ignored me. Laughable, if I wasn't contributing to the 'service' costs...
