CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SH*TT
They keep trying to overcharge me each month. At his month they overcharged me and I called them that day to complain to them about refunding me back what they overcharged me. So they supposedly had started a request for a refund.. The next day they called me saying that I haven’t payed my monthly bill! I was mad af! So I had to call corporate and talk to one of the workers there and they were being d*cks! After arguing with one of them for a while they realized I was right and tried apologizing. After this they realized their mistake and I got told they had canceled me payment from the day before, so I payed them the bill thinking they were gonna refund me the money. After two weeks and I still didn’t receive me refund, I call to customer service (again) and tell them that they haven’t gave me my refund. This lady was trying to argue with me saying that I didn’t pay twice and that I was going to have to email proof to customer service (eventhough I already had a reference code from western dental). After her basically calling me a liar I asked her if she was dumb and she hung up. I ended up calling corporate and they right away realized that they did charge me twice (I already knew I was right). And they told me if I wanted to use it towards next months bill. I recommend for people to stay away from Western Dental, there’s other local Orthodontists who will do better work and for less. Save yourself the stress from dealing with petty customer service and mal practices from this company.
Went to.Western Dental for a check up and cleaning
Went in for a check up and cleaning, it took the assistant 45 minutes to take xray and photos. Because of Covid, I wasn't able to get any dentist to see me for a year for my regular 6 month checks. Told the assistant upfront about my tori, 2 surgeries elsewhere and they grew back. Last Oral Surgeon told me not to.have them removed any more unless I need a partial or dentures. Luckily, I have all 32 of my own teeth. She asked me about braces, geez, I'm 64 years old, not interested. I recognized the sell was on. When the Dentist finally saw me, he spent 5 minutes checkin my teeth and gums. Not a word about my.tori.nor braces, so he asked me if any dentist talked to.me a mouth guard. My answer was no. He said I had staining on cracks on my teeth, indication of grinding during sleep. I have been treated with.deep cleaning in the past because I had early gingivitis. Note, I purposely never.mention this to test the quality of care. The dentist says guns are healthy and no cavities. I was shocked! But not really surprised. Not able to sell me braces, they rather I loose teeth and need oral surgery, a partial or dentures and make money through this route.
Checking out at the front desk, the employee tried to sell.me a mouth guard; $1,000 through my insurance or $300 cash price. Gee, thanks. These dental appliances are $20 at drug stores! Bye bye. This corporation are Flim Flam
scammers. Finding another in insurance network dentist are my cleaning, though choices are slim.

The office staff is rude! Dentists don’t talk to you . It’s just not a professional office, it’s the fast food of Dentists. I wish I had read reviews prior to making my appointment. I now question if the information I was told was accurate. I was told my insurance doesn’t pay for crowns. I recently had moved to area, broke a tooth and with COVID could not get into a real Dentist. This morning I got a call from “collections” telling me I owed 1100.00 plus my check of 568.00 bounced and wanted me to pay. I knew my check hadn’t bounced but called my bank.

Do not even waste your time with this garbage place!! They are a complete scam and they’re not going to help you at all. They told to come in for an emergency tooth extraction. I had an appointment and they made me wait over 45 min. just to tell me that they couldn’t pull my tooth and wanted over $750 for X-rays and a bone graph. I have insurance and they made up some lies about not being covered. They also violated HIPAA laws and make calls on speakerphone so everyone can hear your personal info. Seriously avoid this place!!

Customer representatives fermin wouldnt release company I'd or reference confrontmation just an case we would get off the line loose contact and then asked me me for personal info than transferred me to katherine who stated she working at the corporate office... she wouldnt transfer me to an manager to talk about poor representation of company policies of customer personal information... it took literally 10 to 15 mins of conversation and had me waiting for manager which later she stated they would give me an callback later on today... she was very frustrated about giving an company I'd or reference number... I look like she trying to protect her job than the concerns of the customers

Negligent Customer Service
This review is in regard to deceiving business practices and negligent customer service provided by Western Dental & Orthodontics. My experience with this company has been an absolute nightmare. The first incident occurred when I was provided with an incorrect address of the first dental office. When I arrived at the new correct facility, before I even spoke with a dentist and unbeknownst to me, I was up-sold on expensive dental trays that the dental office is well aware are not covered by most dental insurance plans. After a dentist took less than two minutes looking into my mouth, the dental office totaled up a receipt with nearly $3,000 worth of out-of-pocket procedures. I was shocked and agreed to pay $1,500 of that bill in order to get started on my procedures. I quickly called Metlife (my affiliated insurance group) to go over my procedure list and found that the dental trays would not be covered and are usually not on most insurance plans. I called the WD office located in Pasadena, CA to cancel the dental trays on Sept 10, 2020. At that point, I realized I was owed back somewhere between $800-1,200 from WD and have yet to receive it months later. I have called WD nearly a dozen occasions to get information on the process of receiving my refund. For example, I contacted WD on Sept 30, 2020 to begin their billing/ auditing process, only to call back on Oct 21, 2020 to find out that nothing had been started on this process on my account. Furthermore, I made phone calls in November, December and January only to have the same result, no action and no update on my refund. The last customer service supervisor I spoke with was named Melissa on January 28, 2021. I have also filed a claim with the BBB on Oct 30, 2020. If you take a look at their BBB case rate, TrustPilot and Yelp reviews there are hundreds of unsatisfied customer reviews with similar complaints. STAY AWAY FROM WESTERN DENTAL AT ALL COSTS!

The events are below for two appointments. Not only are we disgusted with the insurance and booking processes, we are utterly ashamed and appalled at the treatment they gave my 82-year-old uncle! NEVER EVER GO TO WESTERN DENTAL! EVER!
Three days ago my husband broke his tooth, so I reached out to Western Dental to schedule an emergency appointment. I also scheduled an appointment for my 82-year-old uncle to have an issue checked out with one of his teeth.
They called to confirm the appointment and about insurance for my uncle. They said they would call his insurance company and call me back this morning, on Monday, to confirm that my uncle's insurance was doable since he was from another state. They never called me back. This is not the big issue, but an important one to consider if we don’t want to waste our time on an appointment if they don’t see us because of insurance.
They also called my husband today to check on his insurance. They were convinced he did not have insurance despite the fact that we confirmed with our own insurance company that yes, we definitely have insurance. Then they wanted my social security number. This is unwarranted and in 25 years of going to the dentist and having a group plan with my family, nobody has ever had to have my social security number to use their own benefits.
Because of this issue I took time on an extremely busy work day to contact our insurance company and they sent me confirmation that yes in fact, my husband is covered. I called the Western Dental office to confirm with them that we had documentation that he was covered, and they STILL insisted on having my social security number! They also said that they couldn't see him unless a fax came from our insurance company confirming that he was covered. I told them I HAD THE INFORMATION FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY. I told them I would fax it. She finally gave me a fax number (while chewing on food, rustling papers in the background, taking the phone away from her mouth so I had no idea what she was saying to me…extremely rude).
I asked repeatedly where this fax would be going because it was confidential information and I wanted to know for sure who would be receiving it. She arrogant, rude, snippy, and in the end I canceled my husband's appointment because he was standing right there listening to this conversation. We didn’t want this situation to prevent my uncle from being seen, so we moved forward with his appointment UNFORTUNATELY.
We cancelled my husband's 3pm appointment but kept my uncle’s 3:30pm appointment so they should have been able to see him without any issues. My husband and uncle arrived at 2:50pm. They did not see my uncle until 4:15pm!!! So they made my 82-year-old uncle wait for all that time in the car outside before they would be willing to see him. Then they had him wait inside for another 20 minutes. Then they wanted to have him wait outside again for another undetermined amount of time. So he saw the dentist for maybe 10 minutes and wanted him to wait for hours to get any kind of documentation about what was needed.
My husband said he was not going to make him wait any longer and guess what the lady said! She said, “Well I have a paper here for him, do you want it or not?” My husband said, “What makes you think that we want to pay for an appointment and not get the paperwork?” He then tried to help her understand that she was being unprofessional and that he was uncomfortable with making our uncle wait so long. She turned her back on them and walked away!
WTH???
The lady was so snippy and rude, my husband who is the kindest and the nicest man you could ever meet was even frustrated! Here is a man that donates and volunteers every moment of his life to helping others and you will NEVER meet a nicer guy in your life. And this is the guy who walked away so frustrated at the treatment they gave both he and my uncle that we will never, ever, EVER go back to ANY Western Dental for the rest of our lives. EVER!!!
Everyone we spoke to was rude, impatient, and treated my uncle despicably. Here is an older gentleman, a retired vet, who deserves much better treatment than he received.

Not a good dentist
No one should have to be subject to a run down old equipment office just because they can’t afford dental insurance. This place is a prime example why this country has the worst health care in the world. The front office staff is very kind and helpful. The woman who did my X-rays was also kind. The dentist is not good. He stood behind me and hastily introduced himself. He’s busy I get it. But his exam was really half assed. I made an appointment for a cleaning and the X-rays took a long time. I was told he didn’t have time to do a cleaning. After talking with him I didn’t feel good at all and applied for care credit and went to a friends dentist. I had to get my X-rays. If you want them go early and don’t leave till they email them. I met with my new dentist who did a full exam and found many more things I needed as well as told me the X-rays were overexposed. They take payments and are really good. I would have had to come back for a cleaning then a temporary crown then crown fitting. Overall this is a terrible place as far as the dentist goes. My exam was hasty and he was not reassuring to my concerns. I would not go there ever and I am sorry that are only one of two that Medi-Cal is taken at. Everyone deserves a good dentist.

During COVID they made me wait outside one hour when I was on time for my appointment. They hassled me over the paperwork I did ONLINE before the appointment which supposedly is an option. They finally found it on their crappy system. The security guard looked like a gang member and he was high on something and barely moved. The staff was rude and barely spoke English. I then had to wait in a chair ONE HOUR AND A HALF. I Fell asleep in the chair and I coughed upon being woken up. When I coughed they threw me out because of COVID. The rudely threw me right out I waited for a long long time and got only some xrays and i needed a tooth extracted. The paperwork I did before that never even asked me what was wrong. Horrible business. Horrible California. Horrible state. Looks at what this has come to!!!!! 3rd world crap hole!

I recently received a letter from Western Dental stating that I owed $1400.00 to your institution. It is to my knowledge that this account was settled with WESTERN DENTAL back in March 2020 based on the bills received from WESTERN DENTAL. I was sent a final bill and made my final payment per the bill I received; all correspondence had stopped at this time. Why wouldn’t I believe this account was closed! Fast forward to OCT. 2020 when I receive a letter stating I owe this amount or I am going to collections. Of course, I called right away several times to all numbers provided and I could not reach anyone, to this day still no calls back. After trying again several times I finally reached someone who stated my “original contract was for the amount I paid plus this “$1400.00” the gal on the phone informed me that that is the balance based on my contract, I told her well according to the billing I had paid in full around $3300.00 dollars! THERES NO WAY TO TRACK PAYMENTS OTHER THAN THEIR STATEMENTS. I asked her if I owe more than why did the bills stop, she had no answer…I requested a transaction listing from her which she said she would send. She even verified my email and said she would email me a transaction listing. I went to my local office to request a copy of my contract they gave me paper work with a number and no signature!! I have had nothing but issues with your Institution to the point where I had to call every month for 6 months to let them know they kept sending my bill to the wrong address! 6 months. Ridiculous! I have not received justification of this debit. Just a letter months after balance is paid for a request for $1400.00 more dollars and a unsigned contract copy.

Went in in late 2019 for wisdom tooth evaluation. Appointment for extraction was set for April/March, that’s fine.
Then COVID happened, cancelled my appointment and closed their doors without telling me. Wow kind of unprofessional, but I get it.
Came back in July to get new X-rays for wisdom teeth. They did that, sent in to my insurance for the extraction. Everything was rolling. Called me back a day before my extraction appointment and told me they no longer had an oral surgeon, so they would have to reschedule me and I would have to do the procedure while awake.
At this point, I was just ready to get them out. I agreed, made the new appointment. Waited a month, called the day before my appointment to see what I would need to bring.. lady on the phone told me “well, you can come in, but we aren’t sure we’re going to be able to remove the teeth. Your teeth are a severe case and we don’t know if we can do it. You can come in though, and the dentist will look and see if he can do it”
Umm... instantly uncomfortable..
Told them OK, please transfer all of my medical records to your Banning, CA office so that I can get it done by an oral surgeon. It took them 6 days to do that.
Banning got my files, sent in for insurance approval.
Never called me back, but when I did call them they told me that insurance only approved for the 2 bottom teeth, because that’s all that was sent to them by the other office.
Luckily for me, I had already been in contact with a private dentist and planned to pay for the extraction out of pocket because of western dentals incompetence. Told them to please cancel my appointment. I won’t be coming.
Flash forward to this morning, got a call from them confirming my appointment. I told them no, I told your receptionist 2 weeks ago I needed my appointment cancelled. She argued with me, and then cancelled it.
Got my wisdom teeth removed by a wonderful, gentle, and caring private dentist today at 3pm. My appointment for WD was supposed to be tomorrow. The best decision I have ever made was getting my teeth removed by someone OTHER than western dental. This is literally the McDonald’s of dentistry, right down to the receptionist, hygienists, orthodontists... you name it. Don’t come here. To any of the locations. ESPECIALLY PALM SPRINGS. Not only will they give you half-assed, reckless care, but they will charge you up the hiney.

I have Denta Cal I went to western dental, they sent my appointment to the wrong office so when I got there the 1 hour and a half that I spent on the phone setting the appointment and filling out all the paperwork was sent to the wrong office. I can deal with that but the big deal is they lied, tried to scam me out of $4000, and told me a "60-year-old man" that Denta cal covers root canals but not the cap that goes over the tooth and I needed two caps. They also told me that 2 more caps that I had for 20 years were temporary caps and they needed to be replaced. Denta cal does cover caps after root canals Western was just trying to rip people off. If I had listened to them I would have pulled my tooth, instead, I am going to another Honest dentist that will do all the work.

Most unprofessional dentist office I've ever dealt with in my life. Today is the 2nd time that they have not honored an appointment made through their customer service.
1st time, they said that I was not on their calendar. The receptionist insisted that they don't have me on their system. After a few minutes, someone from the inside counter said that I was on their system. They have to move my appointment because they were overbooked.
2nd time today! I was again informed that they cannot take me because they weren't able to leave a message on my voicemail to confirm my appointment. They could have easily eMailed or even texted me.
On both occasions, I received an eMail reminder. They said that they didn't send it. The eMails were from their corporate office the receptionist said.
Why in heaven's name are their corporate office not in sync with their office on 5756 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA 95207.
PLEASE DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR. AVOID GOING TO WESTERN DENTAL OFFICE ON PACIFIC AVENUE BY ALL MEANS. YOU HAVE BEEN FOREWARNED.

My horrible experience is with the Billing Department and not with the actual facility which they are amazing workers and very welcoming. I hate to transfer dentists as we have been with them for many years, but I am done with Western Dental, period. Long story short, my son had 1 filling done March 2020 and they charged us for 2. We were supposed to get our refund for that one filling that was not done. Fast forward to August 2020 after calling several times, customer service representatives are extremely rude and I feel they do not speak English. Manny, Katherine, Josseline, etc. I wish I wrote all their names down were extremely rude. The last call I made and my final call they said its a dispute with the bank and I have to take it up with them. WHAT!!!!! I don’t mean to sound like such a complainer, but that refund money can pay my bills! Anyway, today my kids had an appointment, this was their last appointment as I am tranferring out, I wanted to say good bye to the ladies that have been good to us all these years, but I am so annoyed writing this Im going to cancel and start with the new dentist I found.

This company is a rip-off!! P&S! Their game is to not completely inform, or to be completely honest about your health, or their services. They practice in Low-ball pricing for subpar care. They make you feel a sense of urgency to get you sucked into choosing their inferior dental care. My opinion is that Western Dental is suspicious and may be fraudulent. I will NEVER go there again! Their staff is trained to deceive you along with the Dr. who could not give me an explanation as to why he didn't address a cavity when providing me care. "We overlooked it I guess when we were doing your other work". Don't take your kids there, don't go there, they are a scam organization!
