Satisfied customer.
Bought a sofa and Queen Ann style chair from Guildford store. The whole experience of choosing the right style sofa and fabrics was made most enjoyable thanks to the friendly informed and caring manner in which I was treated by Laura (borrowed from the London store). I also had curtains made from the swatch book where colours were all important and now the finished product looks fabulous. I made a mistake in the curtain measurement, and for a small extra payment all was rectified. The careful wording of letters made me feel that I was an important client, and they were genuinely pleased to help.

I have recently taken delivery of a …
I have recently taken delivery of a couple of sofas ordered through the showroom in Bristol. I have been really pleased with both the quality of the product and the service throughout. In particular I found Jane at the showroom in Bristol to be knowledgeable and helpful throughout; she was always on hand to answer questions and resolve minor admin issues. I have only held back from offering a 5* rating because of a couple of occasions when the Head Office and the Bristol showroom got their wires crossed creating some confusion over delivery dates. That said, in each case the wires were quickly uncrossed (thanks Jane) and potential problems went away. Overall this was a very good experience and I recommend both the product and the service.

Great customer service and craftsmanship
Great customer service and craftsmanship at Wesley Barrell, in particular from David and his team at the Manchester Deansgate store. I had an old Oxford sofa stripped back to the base, rebuilt and recovered and it is beautiful. We love it!

I am so disappointed in this company
I am so disappointed in this company. They charge so much for supposedly handmade and superior products, but what they deliver is rubbish. And their customer service is laughable. We bought a bespoke Alexa sofa in March last year. The order process and deliver was fine, but when the sofa arrived it was not as expected. It is the most uncomfortable piece of furniture we have ever sat on! It looks nice, but you slide off it as soon as you sit on it - the feather pillows are so badly designed they create a massive hole where you’ve sat and then you start sliding. You can basically only sit on it if you have your legs up on the coffee table - otherwise you end up on the floor. And it smells! Like wet dog. It’s been nearly a year and I still feel nauseous sitting on it.
I have emailed, called, left messages and sent more emails. No answer. Or I speak to them and they promise to call back but never do. They haven’t even bothered to send anyone around to look at it. Kate and Keith at the head office should be embarrassed at their customer service skills.
Don’t waste your money with this company. I prefer my Ikea sofa that’s 10 years old. Says a lot!
Update!!! I did indeed get a home visit, with a very lovely man who told me he agreed - my sofa smells and does not have enough stuffing in it. That was TWO months ago and since then not a word from Wesley Barrell about what they are doing to fix it. So Wesley Barrell, if you read this, please get in touch. Publicly shaming you seems to be the only thing that works!

Indifferent customer service!
Some six years ago we purchased direct from Wesley-Barrell what for us was an expensive suite which we thought would last us many years.
Having recently moved from a cottage with low light levels to a much brighter house we realised how badly the arms in particular of all three pieces had faded so I sent photos to Wesley-Barrell asking for their opinion.
Initially they requested samples of the cloth for testing but when I pointed out that as manufacturer and retailer they should surely have a view on whether the level of fading on a six year old suite was acceptable they advised that the manager from their nearest store would visit. Despite several reminders nobody contacted us and eventually Wesley-Barrell advised that HST Fira would telephone us with a view to visiting and examining the suite. Again although I sent a number of reminders to Wesley-Barrell we received no contact from HST Fira.
By this time we realised that Wesley-Barrell were simply "fobbing" us off and had no real intention of looking into the matter so we have had to have the suite re-covered independently.
It is sad to see a long standing company that once had a good reputation now so uncaring about it's products and customers.

The worse customer service ever received after faulty chair
I have never been treated with such disrespect by a company ever. Chair made to order, delivered with a broken leg. Customer services told me it would take just a few weeks. Rang up constantly to see where chair was 4 weeks later and no one called me back ever. It turned out to be sitting in the warehouse all along. I asked for money back, said they would arrange, waited 8 weeks for refund to be told they wouldn't give me one and they had adhered to their contract of making the chair to spec. 6 months from ordering I have given them around £2,000 and still have no chair. I will never pay in advance every again. I will never use this company again. Shame as before it was sold this company had great customer service and generally cared about customer satisfaction and outcomes.

Crooks! charged £5000 for a sofa stuffed with filthy, collapsed old mattress.
On returning from years abroad we needed to re-furnish our house and went to the Wesley Barrell showroom in Whitney. We had bought their furniture in the past and it had always been high quality and long lasting. We spend over £9000 on four stock items and a bespoke sofa, which itself was nearly £5000. We specified the covers and fillings very clearly. When the sofa was delivered the main seat cushion seemed to be in a state of collapse and the filling was so poor that the fabric was loose and folding around it. I unzipped the fabs to find that the filling was a filthy dirty, thin piece that looked like it had been used as a tramp's mattress. I complained to the salesperson and he organised a new falling to be sent. This was four times the thickness and at least new. They said a 'rogue filling' had found its way into our £5000 sofa! Whatever that may mean. No compensation was offered. I also complained that the cushions had a filling that was totally the wrong shape for the cushion. Their answer was that I should go to one of their shops with the six cushions and complain personally. I wrote to the MD. This was ignored, I have never received any response. They used to be good. Now they act like crooks, trying to stuff old, used rubbish into new and very expensive furniture and they could not care less about customer service.
