Looking at 71 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with product quality, noting issues such as thin fillings, tasteless or oily items, and stale or hard bread. Some also reported dry, inedible baguettes and pastries that lacked sufficient filling, often describing them as flavourless or having an unpleasant texture. Slug found in sandwich

We had ordered 2 platters and had them delivered. When one of our team members bit into one of the egg mayo sandwiches, a slug was found within the sandwich.
I immediately called the local store and advised them of this and they asked if the 'slug was green'? and if I could send them a picture. Which I did.
I heard nothing further back.
I then contacted the head office and was given the speel of how they take food hygiene very seriously and said that due to the size of the slug, the team would have noticed it during preparation and only if we had returned the product for them to carry out a detailed investigation would they have taken this more seriously.
Well, thanks a lot!
Won't be using Wenzel again...

Terrible Service

London Rd, High Wycombe Branch: The service is terrible and its mostly down to one main member of staff. Regulars will know who l refer to. She has no customer service skills and looks irritated and annoyed whenever someone places an order. She also has the cheek to air her thoughts and make sarcastic comments aloud for everyone to hear...extremely unprofessional. I used to think it was quite funny watching and listening to her interact with customers thinking someone would eventually bite back. It happened to me the other day and l didn't put up with her nonsense. I just cancelled my order and walked out and into starbucks next door. I don't understand why company's put plebs with no basic customer service skills in customer facing roles.

I use wenzels at least twice a day for coffee and snacks but I won’t be going back, they have just increased the price of coffee from £2.40 to £2.75 and a baguette now costs £4.50. Just another prime example of greed and blaming it on the cost of living crap

I never got a refund from Wenzel for a latte I did not want after the woman making it picked her nose and the sleep out of her eyes. I found that revolting and have never been back since. Wenzel might refuse to refund me for the money as it was paid by card and the store does not come up as Wenzel but another name, but they will not get my business. Everyone has different hygiene standards and might not wash daily but picking one's nose and eyes while making my coffee is revolting and unacceptable.

Wenzel prices and quality

Wenzel food is very exspensive for what they offer. Not even good quality, cheap bacon and sausages , and how are they getting away with these prices. The cakes I rate which is lovely and at decent quality.
I find alot of staff in different branches are very rude ,as well as getting orders wrong, which can be dangerous for me. Eg : I ask for sandwich to be made without tomatoes as im allergic. They roll there eyes and say just take the one on shelf and remove them. I say no and reason . They grabbed one off the shelf and scrapped out the tomato???.
Please treat allergies seriously. Maybe some may need to understand stand how important this is.

Terrible customer service & lack of prep

The assistant manager at Colindale had terrible customer service and a stinking attitude. I use Wenzel almost everyday at various locations and like the food although it’s overpriced. However, this location was underprepared for an early start had nothing ready and were rude.

Yet another dry as a bone cake from Wedzels Basidon. It was so dry I thought I saw an oasis in the middle. It was so dry Jack Dee was impressed. I was so dry it should have had a warning sign saying 'keep away from naked flames'.
Genuinely unimpressed with the food every single time.

My first time ordering from there and my last, they couldn't get my order right at all, I asked for a muti grain roll, no butter, tomato sauce, I got white crusty, butter, brown sauce and the food inside was cold, not ordering from there again and why do you only sell big packs of sausage rolls? For the price, the order should of been correct and hot

Terrible stuff.

Went to the one in Hitchin, the guy (yashas) started to serve me and my partner. My partner was placing his order and then next thing, a delivery driver comes in, pushes in-front of us, not only nearly walking into my 2 week old baby. But, talks to the guy in their language. ( I thought that wasn’t allowed in-front of customers.) and then as I’m about to order, the guy tells me to wait ‘2 mins’ because he’s serving the delivery driver now. I don’t think that’s acceptable at all! Yashas was half way serving us but had to stop for the delivery driver. We confronted yashas and let him know he shouldn’t be doing that to customers but only a sorry. Not good enough. You need to re-train your stuff and customer service. Disgusting behaviour!

Not worth it

First time I have shopped here and really disappointed. I brought a cake and the cake was a little dry and so expensive. Everything in the shop seemed to be double in price compared to other places and I can't see why. The shop looked nice and was clean, that was the only thing. I wouldn't be spending my money here again.

Ordered a Jamaican Pattie today and…

Ordered a Jamaican Pattie today and couldn’t believe how horrible food could be. It was a hard crust incredibly dry tasteless and worse, virtually no filling. Basically disgusting and in edible, ended in bin. I have informed the company of my thoughts. Had so many from different food outlets over the years and even a few from this company previously which all though not as good as a West Indian take away, were certainly acceptable.

Never again

I’ve visited many Wenzels locations over the years. But in the last few years this business has now gone totally downhill.
The food is awful & staff are either rude or just have no clue when it comes to customer service.
This is what you get when you hire foreign labour & give no or little training in customer srrvice.
At one time I rated Wenzels highly & the staff were so friendly & interactive but that now all gone.
After my interaction today with Golders Green location in London I will never go back.
Wenzels you should be ashamed.
Food is now disgusting & expensive !!
Goodby

I have been coming to this wenzels in…

I have been coming to this wenzels in Ruislip Gardens for the past 5 years and always love the team there. They have always been so helpful and lovely.

However something has changed in the last month. The service is the worst. There is one particular employee who is the rudest team member ever serving at the front. I would never name and shame publicly, but she clearly has something going on outside of work or just doesn’t want to be at work. Either way her attitude is terrible.

I try not to complain about service as I appreciate some people may have an “off” day and work in the service sector. However her behaviour is appalling and ongoing. I actually feel uncomfortable going into the shop, which is very sad. I won’t be going in there any time soon!

Northolt Wenzels top class

Our family had a funeral reception in Greenford recently for my mother in law. Logan in the Northolt Wenzels couldn't have done more or being nicer. Thank you so much Logan on behalf of my wife's family for the quality of food and the sensitivity. Highly recommend them.
