My very old Villager stove had reached the end of it’s life, and Wendron Stoves was on my hitlist as one of the local stove specialists to visit and suss out their offerings and service.
At the well kitted out showroom I was met by Gary, who demonstrated the many stove options suitable for my needs. The stove is my main heating system and a big investment for me, so it was very important for me to make the right choice. I had many questions, which Gary accommodated helpfully and knowledgably.
My preference was the classic style Jotul F200 wood burning stove. There was no pressure make the deal then and there, which was greatly welcome. We made a non-committal site survey appointment for a few days later.
At the site survey, Gary was able to answer my new extensive list of questions, and we agreed he would send me a quotation, which arrived the following day.
As a self confessed worrier, I decided to make a second visit to the showroom the following week for a full demonstration of the stove ‘in action’ from lighting to fully burning. Again Gary patiently answered my further questions to the point I was ready to confidently agree to the installation, with a date set for a few weeks later on 14th March 2025.
The installers Nigel and Kian, arrived on time, and set to work in a friendly and professional manner. What they found up my non lined chimney was nothing less that shocking, with a massive build up of creosote (even though it was swept annually). Undaunted Nigel set to work to dislodge the offending build up and to my relief the stove and flue liner wire successfully installed with everything left clean and tidy. Following the installation a fire was lit to ensure everything was working properly. I was told I would be contacted by Ashley who would arrange a commissioning visit.
Between installation and the visit, the ways of using a modern stove took some adjusting to. Ashley was really helpful, and with her further advice and I can confidently say I made the right choice of stove and the right decision to choose Wendron Stoves to instal it.

An engineer (James) came to do a service and sweep on Friday and completed a first class job. I was super impressed with his thoroughness, professional approach and attention to detail. Fantastic.

An engineer came to fit a new collar on my stove. He did not support the register plate while he removed the stove resulting in the lining that goes up the chimney coming off the cowl. The engineer then lied and said the lining had split and showed me an image of the inside which clearly showed it was not split. I said it looked fine but he said I didn't know what I was looking at.
The manager at Wendron said it was my problem because the split had been caused by me not servicing the chimney every year. When it turned out the lining had been pulled off the cowl he still refused to pay for it to be reattached.
Disgraceful lack of care for the customer. I have taken the matter up with trading standards and will have to resort to legal action.

An absolutely amazing team that really took the time to listen to what I wanted and then worked to make sure they made it happen. The team that arrived to build my fireplace were courteous, friendly and extremely tidy, clearing up at the end of each day. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone.

From the first visit to the showroom in Truro, to the final installation, the whole experience was excellent. We were kept informed throughout the whole process. The installers worked incredibly hard, were courteous throughout and cleaned up very well after they had finished and all of the work was completed ahead of schedule! We are delighted with our remodelled fireplace and new gas-fired stove and I would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending Wendron Stoves to anyone thinking of buying a new stove.

Wendron Stoves has a nice showroom on the outskirts of Helston. We visited in January 2022 and were well assisted by the ladies that work there. We ordered a stove - with a carefully planned March installation date - to coincide with our central heating system being replaced. The Sales Director initials GH go involved for some reason, ordered and delivered the wrong stove (nothing on any paperwork to alert to us to the error) - a stupid error on his part caused by lack of attention - which caused us massive issues - and left us with no heating for 7 weeks during the coldest part of the year and incurring costs to heat a room with fan and oil heaters. GH could barely bring himself to say sorry - did absolutely nothing to try to mitigate or help - failed to return calls and completely dismissed any notion of compensation (raised politely) for the financial loss we'd incurred as a direct result of his error. When threatened with legal action he offered us a few bags of logs. I really don't make a habit of taking suppliers to court but this guys 'don't give a damn' attitude so rankled that I felt that I had no alternative. Interestingly his own fitters indicated that this was not the first instance of his incompetence and lousy attitude to customer service. We also discovered that 3 of our acquaintances have also had negative experiences of his bizarre attitude and behaviour. Avoid while GH is working there.
