I Contacted Mike with regard to servicing my Seiko Pogue watch. I had tried other watch repairers with no luck. Mike serviced my watch, it had a new glass and a polish. It came back looking like a new watch. I can’t recommend Mike enough, his Emails were prompt, polite and informative. The price was very reasonable and I felt Mike was honest in his opinions, I would definitely use Welwyn watches again.
WW provided a first class and very informative service in the repair of my watch. The work was excellent and the watch returned looked and performed much better than before. At every step of they process I was kept informed of issues and what solutions could be applied. Also I thought very fair in the pricing of the job. Communication was good throughout. Highly recommend WW as a trusted craftsman. Will be using their services again on my other watches.
PS - I read the other reviews after I posted mine. Happy to see that we all had the same experiece with Mike.
I have two Seiko 6139-6002 watches from the early 1970's. One mine and the other my late father's. Both were in need of a major service after being left unused for many years. When I tried a local, well regarded, authorised service centre, they refused to touch them, saying spare parts were no longer available.
An Internet search came up with Welwyn Watches, and their website had videos of similar watches to mine being serviced. So I contacted Mike last year and sent one of them off. The result was remarkable. The watch came back fully functional, keeping good time and looking great.
I took my other one to Mike last month and in a week it was done. Again, fully functional, new glass & polished case.
I cannot fault the service Mike provides at a reasonable cost. His communication is also brilliant.
If you have a nice watch that needs repairing, don't hesitate, contact Mike at Welwyn Watches.
If there was a 5 star plus option to give I would have selected that!!
Mike is just superb! Fast in response and repair !!!
I enquired with multiple watch repairers for fixing my nans watch to be told could be this should be that maybe it’s this and maybe it’s that it was exhausting and I was getting nowhere and feeling defeated! Then I noticed Welwyn watches and made my enquiry. Mike was quick to respond and gave me a guide price for postage and repair and told me what the cost would cover… simple as that! I am based on the Wirral and had reservations on sending my nans watch for repair but upon speaking with Mike I felt very assured and confident that my nans watch was in good hands so I sent it off!
Watch received back today all fixed sparkling and looks good as new! I am absolutely thrilled and my Nan will be too!
Highly recommended in a heartbeat and massive thank you to you Mike!!!
I initially reached out to Mike at Welwyn Watches to see if he had a set of hands that would fit my watch, which needed a new set. They fitted perfectly when I attempted to fit them to my watch.
I then had a vintage watch that had broken, an issue with the click spring and seconds pinion. I sent the watch off to Mike to have a look at, and he serviced the watch to a very high standard… getting it back to me in less than a week!
I would be more than happy to get him to take care of any further repairs I may need for my watches in the future!
The great reviews here are I am sure all true.
My 80’s Seiko was wrecked when taken for a battery change then I was told the watch being antique parts can no longer be sourced. A phone call to Mike relieved my disappointment when he assured me the watch can be fixed. A few days later the watch was returned up and running and my old friend looks like he did originally although fitted with new movement, hands and crown. Mike worked wonders for me so
I would also strongly recommend him.
Mike recently repaired my Omega Seamaster 300 which was keeping poor time and consequently was not being worn. It is now running perfectly and I wear it every day. Mike also gave it a sympathetic polish and it looks amazing. Several people have commented favourably on its appearance. Mike is undoubtedly a ‘watch wizard’ with great skill and knowledge. He also takes great pride in his work. First class in all respects.
I asked Mike if he could service my Grandads old watch. He replied promptly, was upfront with how long it would take (no unrealistic promises) and how much it would cost.
The communication was excellent. He told me the best way to send the watch, when it had arrived and then kept me updated on the progress of the service. Which as far I can tell was excellent as well. I’m currently wearing it and it’s keeping good time!
Finding Mike has meant my fathers old hand-me-down watch lives on! Not only does Mike work his genius on watch movements, but also on watch cases, which is a skillset hard to find. I’m thrilled to bits by Mike’s work on my old 1958 Tudor Prince. Moreover, his communication was excellent, answering emails quickly and including photos with updates. He also clearly knows the history of watches and movements, and was able to shed light on a few things for me. And, best of all, his prices are very reasonable and totally worth every penny. I cannot rate highly enough.
From first contact and getting my basket case of a watch down to Mike at Welwyn Watches to receiving it back fully functional Mike kept me up to date with progress and the issues he found along the way. I can’t praise his workmanship enough excellent service can thoroughly recommend!!!
Sent Mike my dad's omega for a new crown and a Tudor I picked up on eBay that was pretty banged up.
Mike sourced an era correct omega crown for a fantastic price and the non running Tudor came back running perfect and looking amazing.
Fair prices, quick turnaround and super friendly to deal with!!
I noticed a recommendation for Welwyn Watches on a local Facebook page. I emailed for a quote to change a gucci watch battery and got a response the same day. The price to change battery and clean the watch was a third of the price the jewellers in town quoted. I dropped the watch off and it was ready for collection the next day. 5 star review given for price, quality & professionalism. I'll definitely use Welwyn Watches in the future & recommend their services.
Great service throughout
From my initial email enquiry through to receiving my Rado back by special delivery, Mike kept me updated throughout. He did a great repair to an old watch, at a sensible price, and made the process easy. Thanks!
Thank you so much for the prompt return of my Seiko watch. I am delighted with how it looks with the new glass and thank you for your excellent service and excellent communications.
I will certainly use you again, should the need arise.
WW provided an excellent service for repairing my 30 year old smashed glass Tissot watch. They gave me an estimate subject to seeing it. When they examined it they found a suitable glass (Tissot no longer supply the glass) and additional internal parts and made a only slightly larger final quote, then sent it back in very good packaging by SD. Would recommend WW to others needing their watch repairing. Very helpful throughout and v competitive pricing, far cheaper than the high street. My watch is like new.
Mike knows what he is doing, quickly finds out what has gone wrong and rectifies being as economical as possible. The watch came back looking like new! Thanks
