Wells Fargo used to be a relatively…
Wells Fargo used to be a relatively excellent credit card company, but they're instituted an AI system, which works to their advantage not to yours. I've had to change my telephone number, and getting verified with all their CATCH 22 loop holes has taken me nearly this entirely whole week, stopping in at their locations, trying to do it over the phone (I've been on hold now for over 10 minutes) and trying to get back on line again.... I concur with the other reviewers at this point. And the thing is that like all CS people, most of them are overseas, many are entirely simpleminded, and we spend way to much of our precious lives only to the benefit of their stock holders and overpaid executives... that's endemic.
Btw, I'm still on hold and it's been over 20 minutes now... their AI system is truly antiquated and stupid, like their employees. But why should they care? They've amassed so much money, they don't give a rat's @!#! about their customers LIKE THEY USED TO.
I just found out that they used the wrong updated phone number, so I still can't get online, they have incredibly simpleminded intentionally stupid people with attitudes... you spend inordinate amount of time really because if you give 99% of people any control, especially over things as important as this and a job, they'll extort you.
They HAVE TO HAVE an eligible cell number on file, or you WILL NOT BE ABLE to get online to their website, for push notifications... so if you don't have a cell phone, guess what? My previous number with MintMobile was, for some reason with the same provider, this new number isn't.... so now I'm going to have to wait ANOTHER 3-5 business days to see my (accounts)... short of stopping into their banks, which requires a reservation now where I live in Ocala, FL and waiting for about an hour, and chances are I will need to pay a fee to just get a bank statement, while I wait for a new bank card, because I lost the other one... because of the shadiness of their staff, etc. Update: I reported a charge on my card that was fraudulent, and needed to report it again. I reported another charge that was taken over the phone to my checking account, and I answered all questions on a recorded line for both charges, and I don't see this online... I called them today, but their dispute dept isn't open on weekends. I know there's been dishonesty with Wells Fargo, that I have never experienced in the past. And, I have a very good sense, based on a complaint that was "investigated," and where I was called 3 times with updates, though I was told by one of their executives I would called everyday about it (I didn't really want to be called at all about it, that's their issue, not mine, I'm just trying to get a better service from them) and was sent a letter than those involved "behaved professionally." What I expected they'd say, CYA? I haven't got time for dishonest bankers, do any of you? I guess my next step is to report this to the ABA.
I made a trip back to that bank today to have a notary sign and was affronted I forgot I had written this review previously. I will now be contacting the ABA about this branch of Wells Fargo in Ocala, FL, the woman threw my paperwork back at me, with some lowlife standing over me. She was affrontive, and it's all on their video, in fact, as I have told others to review videos of this branch, but that I guess depends on who's going to review them and their level of ethics, omg, birds of a feather. I went to another branch and the woman there was so competent and nice, she was a notary, so I got what I needed. She asked me if I wanted to file a complaint with the other branch and I agreed to.
Went to Wells Fargo to do a wire…
Went to Wells Fargo to do a wire transfer into coinbase to put some money into bitcoin with OUR money after being denied for a week previously online. They refused to do the wire and called the cops for possible. We immediately switched banks and pulled all of our money. They are anti Crypto and treat you like a criminal. I will NEVER go back to WellsFargo, I remember when wellsfargo was busted for defrauding the American people out of Millions of dollars and they lost a class action suit! They have a lot of nerve treating their customers like criminals when it's actually THEM who are the crooks! Good riddance wells fargo!!!!!
Wells Fargo do not protect your personal information or money
I had a person call me from a Wells Fargo branch on my cell phone and said that someone from New Jersey is trying to zelle $3500 from my account and in order to stop the transaction I had to place a hold for 24 hours on my money and in order to do that I had to zelle it to the banks holding account. So now Wells Fargo is saying my claim is denied because the people were hackers and I willingly sent the money 😡
I recently had my direct deposit…
I recently had my direct deposit changed from Chase bank to my account with Wells Fargo. It is to start with my next payroll check on 7/17. Because of not having direct deposit started yet my employer United States postal service gave me my payroll on 7/7 in the form of a postal money order. Being the amount they gave me two money orders. I went to the local branch to make my deposit. I was told after I had deposited both money orders that there would be a deposit hold placed on them. I asked how long the hold would be and the teller stated 24 to 48 hours. The next day I received 275.00 and received a email stating the rest of the funds would not be available for 7 more days. When I called to speck with a manager about this all he would say is that’s their policy and he can’t help in any way get this lifted so I can have my funds. I understand there is policy’s and that the they just want to make sure it’s a valid money order but they can clearly see that I work usps and the money order was from usps. I don’t think it’s going to be a good relationship between them and myself if I’m going to have to wait for a week after payday to receive my funds. But the gentleman stated that I’m a very valued and loyal customer and there glad to have my business but can’t help in anyway.
Excellent Customer Service
I have been a customer for about a couple years. I went in to my branch in Ft. Lauderdale 7/8/26..as I was doing a balance transfere..being 71 im not that technically inclined. I went into the bank no customers..saw a few associates..a young man Fabian Olivero approached me and asked what I needed. I explained to him I recieved an offer for 0% for 15mos..he downloaded the app for me and got me started showing me the Wells Fargo app . The kindness of this young man was the best! I understand why customers do online banking paying bills and so forth. As now days the Postal is getting slower and slower..Thanks again Fabian!
Wells Fargo Fraud
In 2022, I opened a company checking account at a Wells Fargo branch, using a cashier's check of $7,500. I obtained from my original bank, which is citibank. The following day, I had a call from someone at Wells Fargo headquarters saying that my account is being closed because the cashier's check is a fraudulent one. They closed my account and seized my entire funds without any proof of fraud. Citibank told me the money did transferred to wells fargo without any problem. Wells Fargo won't contact citibank, and vice versa, in order to resolve this matter. My bank account reflects a debit of $7,500 debited to create the cashier's check. I have been in touch with both banks to resolve this matter since 2022 to no avail and it is July 2026 today. I am getting a lawyer and sue both banks for defamation: both Libel and slander, and also for pain and suffering, as well as attorney fees and interest on money.
Wells Fargo is the worst bank ever!!!!!
Wells Fargo is the worst bank ever. They are big LIARS and THIEVES!!!! Please don't ever do any type of business with Wells Fargo. If you are looking for an excellent bank. Please go to TD BANK!!!!
I’d give zero stars if possible
I’d give zero stars if possible. We have continually been disappointed by the service at Wells Fargo. The branch in Eagle Idaho is the WORST! We recently had 2 parents die and they could not help with anything. We made so many trips to that branch and had lots of frustration. We are working with an estate lawyer so we know what should be done and had all the correct paperwork. We had much better luck with the branch in Butte Montana. However, we are continually getting new charges and zero support. Most of the staff doesn’t know how to answer simple questions. We couldn’t even get a simple notary done. It took 5 minutes at our credit union. We have renamed this bank to Hells Fargo. We will be out of this bank entirely as soon as our dealings are complete for our parents. Don’t even consider this bank!!! Especially in Eagle Idaho.
Totally inept and clueless customer service – do not use as unfit for purpose!
Wells Fargo is the most useless and frustrating bank I have ever had to deal with, and their customer service is completely unfit for purpose!
I am a US/UK dual national residing in the UK; for over 30 years, I have shared a joint checking account with my mother, who lives in the US. She set this up for me to make it easier for her to deposit money in my account, and I also receive USD dividend payments from some stock shares I own into this account. Although I have physical proof Wells Fargo has written to me by post at my UK address previously, they yesterday claimed not to have my UK address anywhere in their system!
Although I only recently used my Wells Fargo ATM bank card while in the US in April, having lost it recently over the July 4th weekend here in the UK, they are now claiming – in fact, refusing – to send me a replacement bank card! This is because supposedly: a. their systems aren't configured to add a verification stage for anything other than a 'US-registered device' (I asked 3x for an explanation of what exactly this means, eg cell phone or app, etc, but got no answer); b. despite initially being told they could send a text for verification to my partially sighted mother who shares the account with me, they could not even manage to sort this out while she was in branch with a staff member yesterday because the staff ‘had never had to deal with this before’ – even after a full hour of the three of us being on the phone in a three-way call and me supplying everything needed to verify my identity, etc; c. I then tried to phone back on the international customer service number to get help with this myself, and was kept waiting on the phone for another hour and a half while speaking to at least two staff, neither of whom were able to resolve this in any satisfactory way – the only thing they achieved in all that time was supposedly to update my records to include my UK address, which they actually already had; and d. Not only were they utterly useless, but they actually lied to me and/or contradicted themselves SEVERAL times over the course of our conversation, emphatically claiming that yes, they could send a replacement bank card to my UK address, but then suddenly denying they could do this for some illogical, incomprehensible and effectively inexplicable reason.
It is completely beyond my comprehension how this bank (formerly Wachovia) – which as mentioned I have had this joint account with for over three decades now (all the time of which I have resided in the UK) – could suddenly have managed to ‘lose’ my UK address and/or to make it impossible for me, as a valid, 100% verifiable customer with money in that bank account, to access my own money. They have effectively told me that the only way I can use their bank is if I actually reside in the US and have a US cellphone – but as I have been banking with them (or at least with the former bank, Wachovia, whom they took it over from) for over 30 years, why is this only now suddenly a problem? Surely they must have other US expat customers elsewhere in the world, or some mechanism in place to offer actual and functional assistance to anyone in my circumstances?
It has only taken me a few minutes to sort out replacement bank cards for my UK banks. This really makes me wonder if the US has now become such a corrupt and/or third-world entity that it is completely unable to match that level of service and efficiency? I don’t know, but I certainly cannot recommend to ANYONE to do business with this bank!
I have been banking with Wells Fargo…
I have been banking with Wells Fargo since 1977. I have managed multiple business accounts and personal accounts during that time. Balances weren’t huge, in the low to mid 8 figure range.
A man did work for me recently and I tried to pay him $500 from one of my WFB accounts. The balance in the account was > $10,000. Overall my active account balance is greater than $500,000.
I spent several hours on the phone today with Wells Fargo asking them to honor my $500 check.
I think I might be done with Wells Fargo.
I’d score lower if there was a option…
I’d score lower if there was a option for it.
Horrible and unreasonable Service
After Spending 2 hours on the phone trying to resolve a simple issue I found unhelpful phone representatives who could not make a decision without approvals, and overly complex automated systems. I finally got in touch with our account financial manager who directed us to a colleague of his at a local branch who resolved the issue.
BTW, we were told that there were no local branches that could handle the issue. All we needed was a letter stating the our business account was active and that there were no holds on the account. Will most likely relocate all of our funds to a different bank.
Wells Fargo in Highland Springs is…
Wells Fargo in Highland Springs is great. They are honest. They know their customers. They do all they can to accomodate. With so many all on line banks to choose from, Wells Fargo is worth the fees to be able to go to a BRICK AND MORTAR bank to get or deposit actual CASH, get a receipt, and actually deal with a live PERSON.
I opened an account online
I opened an account online, talked on the phone giving info I already typed in, just to find out i have no account 10 days later. Go anywhere else!
Worst bank for customer service
Wells Fargo is a joke!!!! 20 people in line and 2 tellers. Oh and you are supposed to put the customer first???? Doesn’t seem to be the case.
Wells Fargo doesn't protect the…
Wells Fargo doesn't protect the everyday man; they protect the companies. Good riddance WF!!
I am soooo sick of wells fargo!!!!!
I am soooo sick of wells fargo's practices!!! I called almost THREE months ago to dispute a charge for a hotel room/stay for one night! The room was absolutelyyyyy deplorable because they didn't want to give me a nice room (for reasons i wont say here) so i didn't stay in it long and slept in my car...but i explained to them everything in full detail and even took pictures and videos of the room...during that time i was dealing with a mental health issue beyond my control and the stress this hotel was causing me and my family..it caused me to have another spontaneous health issue to occur...and it was very traumatic! But before that happened, and i called about the room--the representative voluntarily gave me a provisional credit..which i was going to turn down because i knew how they got down..the person assured me they most likely wont take it back after an "investigation" of my situation, so i agreed...butttt literally today--THEY TOOK IT BACK OUT AFTER ALMOST 3 MONTHS WITH NO COMMUNICATION AND NOOOO INVESTIGATION!!! NOW BECAUSE OF THEM MY ACCOUNT IS IN THE HOLE!!! SHAMEFUL SHAMEFUL SHAMEFUL!!! I ALREADY HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS ORDEAL AND WELLS FARGO DID ME DIRTY AFTER LYING. Like whyyyy??? so pretty much i lost money twice..i have nooo words for this company. I'll definitely be finding some other bank.
Nothing works
Every time I try and use ANY of their online services they NEVER work. It ALWAYS requires going in person where they try and sell you something.
Quitting Wells Fargo after 25 years
I've been a customer of Wells Fargo for over 25 years and today they charged me a $5 maintenance fee after I moved money from my savings to my checking account, unaware of the $300 minimum balance. When I called, they said they couldn't reverse it because their "computer algorithms" didn't allow for that. Apparently like 25 years and only one past reversable the entire time doesn't make me a valuable customer in their eyes. I've decided today to end my lifelong service with Wells Fargo and switch to a different bank that offered me $500 to join and 3.5 interest ongoing.
Wells Fargo has never given me any substantial interest or benefit in my entire years with them, which is stupid on my part to have not switched before. I had heard that they were a s***** company and have been in the news for defrauding their customers, but I stayed because of the convenience. Not anymore.
