facebook Currys laptop scam

Like someone else, followed an ad on facebook (for a laptop from Currys as overstocked!) they took a first payment of 9.95 then the ad changed and asked to fill in bank details again (stupidly I did; who doesn't want a new laptop at that price?) then I found I had joined a book club but cancelled that right away with no trouble; there was absolutely no sign that I had changed sites. Laptop didn't arrive, surprise surprise but I had forgotten about it by then. Today I get called by Halifax to say they've refused a payment of £48 to welfare4bizz. Thank goodness for them as I don't often check bank balance and I have no record anywhere of any interaction with this firm. Have put date of first scam transaction.

Scam company and website

Scam company and website, my bank picked up the usual payment request for £9.95 and £48.50 and blocked them, based in USA so probably trying to avoid trump's tariffs. 😁

Facebook scam

I answered a Facebook link offering a pallet of garden soil from B&Q. I paid welfare4bizz before being asked to reenter my bank details for an extra £1.99. I smelled a rat and reported it to my bank. I have since been charged £48 but I’ve no idea what for. It’s time these people were found and jailed.

Company operates a scam that picks up…

Company operates a scam that picks up unconsented extra payments from your account. I bought a £1 item on an unrelated Facebook advert for delivery but days later suddenly your bank account gets hit for a subscription from Welfare4bizz to which they claim they will cancel but actually you don't get a refund at all as they illegally misrepresent the refund policies.
