Hidden monthly subscription fees

Be extremely careful with this service. The checkout stated that a one-month subscription was included, but I was then charged €34.39 and enrolled in a recurring monthly subscription without this being made clear.
When i purchased the book it said 1 month subscription included. I don’t need the subscription.
Show mw where I’ve agreed to purchase a recurring subscription after the first month which you dcded to bundle with the book.
I’ve not opted in to purchase further subscriptions (required in EU), unless the information was hidden somewhere along the text, in which case this is not in line with EU law.
Alternatively, refund me the money.
The responses may be fast, but they appear to be largely AI-generated, with the same generic replies used for different questions.
In my experience, the checkout process is misleading and designed in a way that can result in unexpected monthly charges. Check everything carefully and monitor your bank account, because they may continue taking €34.39 every month.
After a lot of perseverance, the refund was issued. In the end, I was right. They are breaking the EU Consumer Law as they cannot sell you something without opting in for it.

Liked the topics for new parents and that the book is personalized for the baby and parents. My suggestion for someone purchasing this as a gift to the baby and parents. Not to make them pay for a subscription that the buyer will not be using. It’s just an extra step the buyer will have to remember to cancel after the trail period, which they won’t be using. Maybe include the information in the book for whom will be using it.

SCAM: Hidden £24.59/month subscription attached to a baby book
I bought a physical baby book while pregnant. Hidden in the order was an app subscription — no price shown, no mention it would auto-renew. I was charged £24.59 a month for over 18 months for an app I never even downloaded. No renewal reminder, ever. Like most new parents (their exact target customer), I didn't spot it for a long time.
Support cancelled it and refunded only 3 payments, citing a "90-day window" — while twice ignoring my actual point: UK law requires recurring charges to be clearly disclosed BEFORE purchase, and this never was.
Many reviews here describe exactly the same thing, and the company always replies "email support." I did, twice, in detail. It didn't resolve it. The matter is now with my bank and reported to Trading Standards.
Welcome Baby: refund the remaining charges and I will gladly update this review to say you put it right.
Everyone else: check your statements, cancel in writing, and dispute the charges with your bank.

The purchasing process was unnecessarily complicated, with numerous upsells, add-ons and prompts to navigate through. Despite being careful during checkout, I still ended up with an unexpected additional charge of around $50.
The book itself was expensive, and after spending close to $200 in total, I was expecting a premium level of service to match the premium price. Unfortunately, after waiting around a month, I still have not received my order and had to chase updates myself.
Based on my experience, I would think carefully before ordering again.
