My experience with Weightmans LLP was nothing short of appalling.
They acted for GJW in what was clearly a no-fault boating collision claim. Liability was known and, accepted early on. Despite this, they proceeded to delay, deflect and obfuscate at virtually every stage of the process.
What should have been a straightforward resolution was instead dragged out unnecessarily. Communication was slow, responses were evasive, and progress only seemed to occur when pressure was applied. From my perspective, the approach appeared calculated to exhaust the process and minimise payout rather than resolve a legitimate claim fairly and efficiently.
Their handling of the matter forced me to issue court proceedings — an entirely avoidable step in a clear-liability case. Only once legal action was underway did matters move toward settlement.
In my opinion, this was an example of legal representation at its most obstructive rather than constructive. Inefficiency combined with tactical delay created unnecessary stress, cost, and time for everyone involved.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm to anyone seeking fair and pragmatic legal conduct.
Yasmin was very compassionate, thoughtful, knowledgeable and a great sounding board during a challenging period where children were involved. She helped get the best outcome for my children and gave great advice throughout the process. She is is a credit to Weightmans.

Reply from Weightmans Solicitors
"Absolutely appalled by the service I received. A CCJ was issued against me without my knowledge by someone who isn't even a qualified solicitor. The communication was terrible, and the lack of knowledge displayed was shocking. Avoid at all costs if you value your credit rating and peace of mind."
I had an absolutely outstanding experience with Weightmans Solicitors. My case, involving a commercial building, was complex and challenging, lasting several years — yet throughout the entire process, Simon Hartley and the team were nothing short of exceptional. Simon’s expertise, dedication, and calm professionalism made a difficult situation so much easier to manage. He was always available, thorough in his explanations, and consistently went the extra mile to achieve the best possible outcome. Despite the length and complexity of the case, Weightmans were perfect from start to finish, and I couldn’t be more grateful for their support.
This company handled my divorce some years ago. My wife had a serious illness and so did my daughter. They basically extracted money constantly from us, inciting conflict to keep themselves employed and cash flow continuing. About £90000 that could have gone to the mother and daughter who needed it. Writing unnecessary letters and unnecessary actions. Immoral and no integrity in the company culture.
This company encompasses zero morals as the are outright painstakingly subjecting and elderly couple with cancer to access their wills. Still refusing to speak to the elderly couple who have contacted them but solicitor refuses to speak to them. This company should be shut down, law society just as bad for allowing them to operate.
Mu mum at 75yrs of age requesting to speek to solicitors in leasing here will. They are refusing to speak to her & will not release her wills. Company is very difficult to deal with and are very unprofessional in their conduct. They manipulate your words and twist the truth in order to justify their legal stance. This are going into a litigation situation with elderly couple aged 75 & 85.
Unprofessional and bullying tone in email communications.
Horrible vile company, almost as bad as Irwin Mitchell. They chase disabled vulnerable people for multi conglomerate lying scummy companoes like Eon energy solutions limited. Keep trying scumbags. I don't have a penny, I own nothing, chase me you won't win. I can easily declare myself bankrupt then you will lose and not earn a penny for yourselves or your vile lying clients.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Younes as my solicitor, and I cannot recommend his services highly enough.
From the outset, Younes demonstrated exceptional professionalism, expertise, and genuine care for my situation.
He guided me through every step of the process with clarity, patience, and understanding, making what could have been a stressful experience incredibly smooth and manageable.
Younes consistently went above and beyond, ensuring that I was fully informed and comfortable with each decision made. His meticulous attention to detail, and dedication to achieving the best possible outcome were truly remarkable.
Thanks to Younes, I felt supported and confident throughout the entire process. If you are looking for a solicitor who is knowledgeable, approachable, and committed to excellence, Younes is an outstanding choice. I am deeply appreciative of his services and would gladly seek his assistance again in the future.
Very unpleasant ethos and style of communication, Late with deadlines. I have had to raise a formal complaint to the SRA regarding this firm. They are unethical and I would not recommend.
Younes is an incredible solicitor. He has been my go-to immigration lawyer for the past 10 years, and I always trust him to deliver.
Younes is always accessible, easy to deal with, and adaptable, and he provides clear and knowledgeable guidance.
I wholeheartedly recommend Younes to anyone in need of legal immigration assistance. His expertise and the client-focused service truly set him apart!
My partner and I had a 5 star experience working with Younes Ech-Chadli! Younes was originally recommended to us by friends when we started researching the UK Partnership Visa. Even though we already had a good feeling going into the process, Younes exceeded expectations with thorough communication, quick responses, and kept everything organized. He was a very calming resource through a naturally stressful process. 5 stars!!
Younes was incredibly helpful and informative during my consultation call with him. He went beyond the allotted time to answer all of my questions and gave me actionable takeaways. I appreciate his willingness to help and prompt responsiveness
I have consistently had a challenging experience when dealing with this firm. Each time their name appears on a new case, I am met with a sense of apprehension. Every phone call and email follows the same pattern, with staff often coming across as stressed, unhappy, and sometimes unreasonably aggressive. I believe this reflects the firm's overall culture rather than the individual employees themselves.
The firm appears to adopt a standardised, one-size-fits-all approach to clients, often doing the bare minimum required. Professionalism and courtesy—both of which cost nothing—seem to be treated as billable assets.
Every interaction with this firm has been marked by one of the following recurring issues:
- The assigned case handler is no longer with the business.
- The case handler is on extended sick leave.
- Weeks of complete radio silence in between the above.
While I have no intention of critiquing other reviews on this platform, I would encourage readers to apply critical thinking when evaluating the firm's online presence. Consider the following observations:
- A sudden influx of positive reviews from newly created accounts appears immediately after a single negative review.
- These positive reviews focus less on the reviewer’s experience with the firm and more on aggressively discrediting those who have shared negative feedback.
- Would a genuine business client be so invested in defending a supplier's online reputation, or would they be too focused on running their own business?
- The consistent negative reviews over the last eight years
I leave it to others to draw their conclusions.
Case handler changes every 3 weeks because the firm can't hold on to anyone.
I'd call this firm disorganised but that would be a compliment.
