Biggest regret purchasing this lawnmower. And I did do from a local guy but to no avail. Heading to woodies to buy a cheap machine that will less frustrating.

I am a professional gardener and…

I am a professional gardener and have had 3 Weibang mowers now and my most recent will definitely be my last as I keep coming back for more punishment thinking the next one will be better but it never is

I have a legacy 56 pro that the self propelling mech repeatedly goes wrong, the machine clogs up at the drop of a hat, the pull cord breaks, and is generally very flimsy. It leaves a nice finish when the conditions are perfect.

The main issue being large mechanical faults such as the self propelling mech which Ernest doe wanted £400+ to fix because of it wrecking a part inside. I decided to scrap it.

£1800 for 2 years use and about 4 fixes.

I also have a Virtue 46, which was the cheapest and ironically the best of the 3, but even then it still suffers from constant pull cord snaps, and propelling issues.

That and any hope of warranty or anything being covered is pointless as they always find a way that that particular issues wasnt a covered issue.

Absolutely had enough of this company now and am moving back to Hayter.

The first 6 months were hassle free. Then it has had breakdown after breakdown. Nothing to do with fuel as the sales man kept repeating. I have had the machine repaired three times now at cost to myself and I've finally given up. It still doesn't run.

Broken Weibang Aerator

After using my Weibang aerator constantly for two weeks. The fixing fell out the handle that lifts the wheels. I messaged Weibang UK through Instagram. Also sent images. The message was just ignored.
You spend over £2200 on a machine then no one has the manners to give after sales service.
Maybe next time I will buy a Camon.

Caretakers view

I bought this weibang 537 about 6 months ago for our school. The build quality is exceptional with a powerful loncin engine. With some fairly large sections of grass and even a 20% gradient hill it cuts with ease. It is crucial to change your oil after about 7 hours of use. Highly recommended.

My weibang mower won't start again once…

My weibang mower won't start again once you stop it to empty the grass box, I have to leave it for several hours or the next day before attempting to start it again which makes mowing a nightmare as you have to stop it to empty the grass box, I have decided not to use the grass box. It has done this since day one, does anyone know if this is a common fault.

WB 537 SCV BBC PRO clutch broken

We have a fairly large lawn - about 3000sqm - but wanted something industrial that would last years. After many recommendations we went for the expensive option - a WB 537 SCV BBC PRO. Very happy for the first few months, but then at the beginning of June (2nd time using it this season) the bottom dropped out - blade, springs etc. Contacted the dealer as it was only 11 months old at this stage, they told me to send it to service. Now I am told that repair to the clutch will cost me about £250. I pointed out that it is still under 1 year old, and I have 4 years warranty. But no, they're not budging, apparently it's my fault as it's 'mechanical' damage so not covered. I wonder, on a machine, what is not 'mechanical' damage?! Can't believe I spent so much on a 'PRO' tool only for it to be unusable after less than a year. Gutted.

It’s a great mower when the power drive works on my 56 pro.
It has just stopped again and it’s going to need its 4th replacement in 5 years
My repair bills for roller and drive’s would have purchased another mower.
Fed up with expensive repairs and down time in the middle of cutting season

Test before you buy

Have had mower for a year, it is undoubtedly robust but has usability issues.

The machine is very heavy and this causes issues navigating around obstacles. Also pull starter needs a lot of effort even after service. Will buy from another manufacturer in future.

My review of my latest Mowers

My help from head office was not very good
We cut grass etc professionally.
We had a 21"WB537SCV 3in1 which I thought was great till the drive cable kept breaking (even though the thing weighed a ton (alloy deck) , eventually the dealer stopped repairing it as it was out of warranty, and I was getting sick of the half hour drive each way and having to leave it there every time for about a week, So I repaired it myself by all sorts of methods, but now the gearbox has gone so now its a push mower for my garden. We also had the 20" roller mower that was ok but big and heavy again the drive was good a bit slow, even after I speeded it up

After much research we bought 2 WEIBANGS WB506SC v-3in1 (PRO) I was a bit doubtful about them after the last carry on with cable breaking etc, and they have a plastic covering over the drive belt under the mower which for me was a big no no, I looked at new Hayters which I`d had for the last 20 years but now they seem poor quality and expencive and 4 point height adjustment which is a faff, We looked at all sorts of makes and drove all over the place looking at mowers and time was going by and we had no mowers my old hayter 3 in 1s were really hard to start and were burning more oil than petrol,
Anyway... These new Weibangs have been the best mowers I`ve ever used, They have metal decks, starts first time (gentle pull), The drive is great, they have about 6 gears that work and in top gear your running, single height adjustment, and they mulch well which is our main use, bag collection is good, nothing has gone wrong yet, They get used hard and long all day, some jobs 2/3 hours non stop, and mulch/chew up everything (thick hedge cuttings etc), seem good on fuel, large tank. Only thing so far is yesterday when sharpening the blades I noticed both drive belts need replacing asap so thats my next job, never been serviced, ok we change the oil etc, SO I would recommend this mower, we`ve had them just over a year now....hope this helps someone decide what mower to buy.
ps the plastic belt cover has been fine no problem so far.

Weibang Legacy48pro issue

Bought a Weibang Legacy pro just over 5 years ago for our 1/2 acre garden. Researched all suitable mowers and this one seemed so reliable even though heavy. Imagine our disappointment when the gearbox which description states would last a lifetime failed. I have tried to source the gearbox but it does not say part number online. Wrote email to Weibang still waiting a response 24 hours later which is probably not long but meanwhile the grass is growing. I rely on my son cutting the lawn as my husband is housebound and can no longer tend to the garden he so loves. We had Honda lawn mowers and an Atco which lasted many more years than this has done. In fact we got rid of the Honda when it was still working well just to get what we thought was a better quality mower.

bought this last end of 2021 july to replace my trusty husgvana ..so far this year oil cap flew off 3 times( no haven't over filled it} it covered everything in oil i check oil everytime i use it & check cap resulting in smoking until its all burnt off .(i do wash it down).t
battery says its full (green light on) and then it stops after a short period of time ( 10mins this time) & its red!!!!! cant believe the battery needs replacing after less than a year ( 5 months use)
sometimes if you stop it wont start again for about 10 mins .
the only good thing i can say is its much easier to push around .not happy with it

This is a very robust mower but…

This is a very robust mower but unfortunately it is much too heavy to manoeuvre around a lawn that is not flat. And despite its power and robust shell it will not cut wet grass any better than most mowers as it clogs up easily even with the mulcher on. It will cut out easily, even though it is brand new.

I bought my mower one year ago

I bought my mower one year ago. The other day my self propelled stopped working. It turns out the drive belt needed replacing. The problem is the manual that comes with the book doesn't say anything about the replacement drive belt. Do I get a 21 inch or a 22 inch. It's frustrating cuz now I have to buy both and drive all the way home to see which one I need. Then drive all the way back to return the one I don't need. I looked for a number in the manual and it gives me a fax number...really!!!
The ONLY reason I'm giving it four stars is because it's a great mower when I'm able to run it. Looks like I'm going to have to pull out my cheap $119 mower from Walmart that always is reliable. Too bad it isn't self propelled.
