Not sure why ppl are complaining about not being covered re covid19 situation if you didn’t bother to take out a policy when you initially booked your wedding then that’s your issue. You can’t take out an insurance policy to cover yourself AFTER a pandemic has been announced. So far I have found this company easy to deal with. They respond to emails or call you with a response within a few days. I haven’t had to claim from them yet (wedding due in sept) but hopefully I won’t need to. Then we could see what they’re really like

We sought wedding insurance prior to the covid pandemic to cover any possible monies lost due to wedding postponement.
We have since rescheduled our wedding and notified the insurance company in relation to deposit money that was lost to suppliers who couldn't reschedule their services for the new date.
We were then informed that we would not be entitled to claim any monies that were lost due to postponement. I fail to see the purpose of wedding insurance if the company don't provide cover when needed in unprecedented circumstances.You would think that that is the sole purpose of seeking wedding insurance to provide much needed cover in extraordinary situations!

We bought insurance well before the outbreak of Covid 19. With the 1st part of our contract saying we were covered for the outbreak of a virus, I presumed we would be covered. I was wrong! They have said that the fine print at the bottom saying “that if the wedding venue is closed due to government regulation they will not cover”. They have told us that this clause comes into effect and so they are not going to pay our claim. Avoid this insurance company at all costs!

I appreciate that the company is busy at the moment with queries from customers who had already purchased insurance before the Covid-19 pandemic however as a potential customer I could certainly have been made feel that my business was a little more valued and appreciated. I had not gotten a chance to purchase insurance before the outbreak but had intended to. I work in healthcare myself so had been quite busy and not seen the posts on a wedding group that I am stating that the company would only be covering Covid-19 for policies bought until x time x evening. I had a few questions I needed to ask before purchasing as I had not seen the section on the website (which I found later myself) detailing what exactly is covered on each policy. I emailed with a few questions, as any prospective customer would do if they had questions, and the reply I received back was short and curt. Nonetheless I purchased the insurance after finding the part on the website that gave me the information I was seeking as even though we would not be covered for the Covid-19 outbreak now it was still worth having insurance anyway, as I expected and as I had intended to look into purchasing before the infectious outbreak was of such a huge concern to everyone and before the company stated that all new policies would not now be covered for it.

They don't cover anything arising from Covid-19. Still trying the cancel the policy and get a refund but I can't get an answer out of them.
Underhanded and poor customer service
I'm not getting married until the autumn but I contacted weddinginsurance.ie on the 9th of March with a query regarding the current COVID situation. I tried the phones but couldn't get through. Emailed and I got no response. I purchased wedding insurance on the 12th because I was anxious about the situation and hadn't heard anything from them. On the 16th of March they e-mailed me to say that as of the 10th they were no longer covering COVID in their policies. However, this notice was not available on their website on the 12th when I purchased insurance. They backdated without any notice of when they would be changing their policy. At least other insurers had the decency to give their customers prior warning and a chance to purchase cover if they wished. I would query how legal it is to back date a change in policy like this.
