I loved this experience so so much. I came on my own and quickly made friends with so many people. This got me out of my comfort zone allowing me to try new things and push myself.

Absolutely horrible experience for my daughter, inexperienced staff, very disorganised, it seems , they used this campsite for the first time. All my daughters things got ruined. Still not heard back from them after making a complaint! What a waste of money!

Great experience despite the rain and overall amazing fun. If you go with positive mindset you are bound to have a fantastic time. Good place to let your hair down and make new friends.

My son attended his NCS away from home experience alone. Initially he was apprehensive and very nervous and in the first half an hour he was wanting to come home. The NCS team spoke to him and provided reassurance and after that I didn’t hear from him all week, he was too busy having so much fun. He has come home saying it was one of the best experiences of his life and that he is so glad he did it. He has just turned 16 and he said he has so much more confidence now and has grown so much as a person. If your young person gets the chance to take part. Do it. I’m so glad my son did it and he is too! :-) thank you all at NCS. Special shouts to Katie who reassured me as a Mum, Emerald and her team who reassured my son and Joel, my sons team leader who my son said was ‘epic, the best’.

I personally really enjoyed the whole set of activities and really had a good experience I love the environment, I really appreciated the friendly staff, very approachable, and made great set of friends due to NCS. My only concern was the sanitation of things and how the cutlery was very dirty as well as the dishes around especially cups.Sadly the food was diabolical. And having to use showers or toilet felt as tho you had little to no privacy. But I would recommend this experience.

My daughter came back in a positive upbeat mood with an appreciate for life and family. She explained that she had a good time away and was glad she attended the programme. Thanks to all the organisers, such a brilliant idea for young people in particular to have something like this

Everything was well communicated from the start with a useful teams call for any concerns or questions prior.
My child loved his week away action packed fun, team building and challenges, comfortable sleeping tents, decent meals and great evening entertainment. For my usually negative child to come back feeling so positive and happy it was fantastic! Would absolutely recommend this super value for money week away.

My 17 year old daughter went with NCS to Milton Keynes last week.
She had a great time and it really boosted her confidence being amongst a broad range of other young people.
She enjoyed the tasks and activities and was well supported by her team leaders.

My son went on an NCS experience this summer, he absolutely loved it. It is a safe space for young teenagers to be away from home, with their friends and enjoy learning, outdoor activities and make new friends.
He was shattered when he got back but had positive things to say about it.
The only thing he didn’t enjoy was the food, but he had packed non perishable, healthy snacks for him so he didn’t go hungry.

A week a Canberra farm was fantastic. The staff were so helpful and engaged. We enjoyed every minute of the time we had. The food was fantastic, the activities were awesome, just wish it could have been longer. We all made new friends that we will keep in touch with. Such a great experience. It could not be better

My daughter went to YHA Langdale with NCS in July 2024. She had a fantastic time and really enjoyed all the activities- especially the waterfall scrambling- and felt very well looked after by all the leaders. She has made some lovely new friends and shared new experiences with some old friends. Everything was well organised, so didn’t leave parents or kids worrying about their time away. I would definitely recommend NCS as something worth doing.

My son had a great time on his recent NCS camp and enjoyed meeting new people. He said the leaders all worked well and he got on with them all has even talked about how he might like to be a leader himself in a few years time! Only negative was the amount of food for a growing teenage boy! Bit caught up when he got home!

it was the best week away i’ve had. it was enjoyable and well suited for my age. it gave me a chance to meet a lot of new people and for me and my friends to experience new activities and independence. the workers made me feel safe and welcomed which i think made my experience even better.

My daughter loved her experience with NCS and I would recommend it for any teenager-it really boosts their confidence and gives them a wider range of experiences.

My Daughter really enjoyed her stay with NCS she got involved with the activities, she spoke fondly about the key workers and how much they helped her and made her feel that she fitted in
It helped my daughter’s confidence because she’s a shy person
She was buzzing when I picked her up on her return

Normally, what goes through a 16-17 year old's mind when an event comes up is 'oh this will probably be really boring, can't wait for it to be over' and my initial thoughts were much the same. Much to my surprise, my two instructors (Michael and Ife) at the Inspiring Learning facility in Ashford, Kent were so relatable and understood our disposition much more than I expected. The structure of the days was also very well planned, where we had an activities day and then two lesson-like days, where some activities included ziplining and archery. Don't let the lesson days discourage you because even the 'lessons' were interesting and dynamic. An example of one is an interactive first aid course and another would be a multi-group debate on controversial statements. We had some fun leisure activities in the evenings as well such as a silent disco, which meant that lots of us socialised and became better friends and a puzzles challenge treasure chest during another evening. The days were packed and busy but always enjoyable and fun. I would not hesitate to recommend this to my younger sister and to anyone else who is sitting on the fence because you'll make so many new friends! GO DO NCS!!
