We're Fluus, the creators of the world's first fully flushable period pad. We're on a mission to stop harmful chemicals against our skin, microplastics in waterways and permanent waste caused by period products. As well as being fully flushable, Fluus is the first truly microplastic free period pad in the world (we know because we built the world's first microplastic free, high speed manufacturing line). As well as respecting our planet, this means that there's no sweaty plastic against your skin. Made from cellulose plant fibres, Fluus is hypoallergnic and has passed skin and vaginal sensitivity tests, making it perfect for even the most sensitive skin. To make Fluus both absorbent AND flushable, we created our patented technology called Flushtec®. It is a combination of materials and first-of-its-kind manufacturing process which makes Fluus pads naturally absorbent, but they only start breaking down once they're fully submerged in turbulent water. Want to know how it really works? The volume and hydraulic action of the flush tear the pad apart. It breaks down even further as it travels through the drainline. The disintegrated pad arrives at the water treatment centre, having broken down into cellulose plant fibres half the size of an eyelash. Here it can safely pass through the screens where it is treated and converted into biogas and fertiliser, creating a circular product lifecycle. Conventional pads contain 90% plastic and take over 500 years to degrade. We believe companies should take responsibility for the complete lifecycle of the products they create. Flush and forget.

Blocked my toilet and soil stack completely backed up! These pads need some serious product testing or warnings about use. It was confirmed as the undissolved pads were removed from the stack.

Love the improved design!
I've received a pack of the new pads and I really do think they have been improved! They are sooo soft, a lot more flexible and I even noticed that the wrapping that each pad comes in looks and feels better. It really feels like the quality has improved.
I do find that although there is noticeably more glue, it still feels like they don't stick so well (so probably it's the glue itself rather than the amount), however this by no means puts me off using them - never in a million years would I think a better alternative would be to go back to using products with plastic, just because they'd stick better. I've found they stick way better on cotton underwear rather than other materials so that's one way to make it easier
Genuinely looking forward to seeing the range expand, e.g. would love to get liners etc

Love the concept but still needs some tweaking!
I absolutely love that these pads are eco friendly and sustainable, but I think the design still needs some tweaking! The wings don’t always stick properly, despite the glue being very sticky and often leaving residue on my knickers. For me personally I would prefer them to be slightly longer too. But a great starting point for what I’m sure will be a super successful brand.

This is the perfect pad.
It’s a no brainer switch! My girlfriend and I will never buy a plastic pad again. Apart from the obvious switch for the planet, here are some major upgrades that Fluus has on pads of the past:
- Absorbent and comfortable
- Breathable, not sweaty like plastic
- Stickier than a standard pad, it would stay in place all day if you wanted it to!
- The design and shape actually fits in your underwear properly
- It’s on a subscription so you’re never in a pinch

Our pads use a unique, non-toxic, water-dispersible adhesive, unlike conventional pads, so your experience of using them may differ slightly from what you are used to.
Our plant-derived adhesive may not stick like your usual brand, but it will stay in place with pressure! We suggest wearing underwear that contains zero microplastics such as cotton or bamboo.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your input concerning the pads blood absorption capacity. Our tests have shown that it can effectively manage up to 6ml of blood for 6 hours, designed primarily for medium flows. We recommend more frequent pad changes for better protection for those with a heavier flow.
The good news is we will soon launch our Heavy Pads which will be perfect for heavier days or night use. With a longer shape to give you additional protection.

Amazing products!
Aside from how satisfying it is knowing that the products are so environmentally friendly, they are an amazing quality and outshine other major brands I’ve normally used before switching to Fluus, the material is so comfortable and soft it feels like just part of my underwear and they are so much more absorbent than others. Oh and the convenience of not having to remember to grab some from the shops each month as they’re posted through my door and waiting for me with my subscription. So happy Fluus!

I love the idea of these
I love the idea of these and love that there’s nothing to throw away in the rubbish however after using them they seem to break apart when changing and leave a sticky residue behind. I also think there should be different sizes/flow levels to choose from and a nighttime version.

We're soon to launch Flushable Heavy Pads that have been designed to absorb a heavy flow and Flushable Liners for a lighter flow.

Brilliant for designing a pad that is flushable and working on it to make adjustments, so the wings can be applied to your underwear much easier.
Some constructive criticism would be to sell panty liners and night time pads sooner rather than later.

Game changer
Excellent pads, they perform as well as normal pads if not better, and with the added benefit of being flushable and biodegradable - why would you not use them! They are comfortable, hassle-free, and I haven’t experienced any leakage. I won’t go back to normal pads.

The pads are quite stiff and feel too thick. The sticky bits that are meant to stick the pad to your knickers somehow manage to be really sticky and leave a sticky residue in your knickers, but also not sticky enough so they don’t stay in place well. The tabs that cover the sticky bits are also really hard to peel off. It’s a great idea but I won’t be using them again.

Not a deal breaker but...
Not a deal breaker because I am sold on the ethos of this company and they do truly vanish when flushed. I get this is a new company so I will wait until design tweaks are hopefully made, which would make my experience using them a lot better.
1. They are not long enough for a heavy flow.
2. The wings are no way near long enough and don't wrap around knickers properly to hold on.
3. There isn't enough sticky glue on any part of them so they don't stick properly which is really annoying because the wings curl up and the glue on them starts sticking to other curly things... Ouch!
Patiently awaiting tweaks.
