Failed service and remediation
As others have documented, unable to use Sky vouchers and left with no alternative than to pay…similarly Vue not offering any compensation for their error…which, unhelpfully was not documented on website…which would have helped with the decision to travel to the venue. All round lack of accountability for failure of service.
Extremely poor customer service
Vue had a technical issue accepting codes... Had to pay full price and they won't exercise any discretion by refunding the original booking. Disgraceful!
Vue Exeter, The Roses
My son and I both tried to book the day before several times using the 2 for 1 Meerkat movies code, said error code try later. Gave up and just went 20 mins before show to book tickets. 3 staff 2 people in front. Took 15 mins to be served. Not able to book seats as systems down, couldn't tell us if there were any spare seats, couldnt scan the meercat code. Said we could go in and sit on any spare seat but would have to move if someone said tbey had booked the seats. Charged us for one lowest price seat👍 Sat on the seats that were not showing as booked on our mobiles. Didn't have to move. Sound was deafening throughout trailers but OK during film. Lift not working. Looked like there had been a water leak all over the downstairs carpet, dehumidifiers all around, hope it wasn't the toilets😩. Seat was comfortable. FIX THINGS VUE!
Pants website
Pants website, pants customer service, pants app pants pants pants pants!
Even the staff are Absolutely PANTS. Me and my partner have been trying to use our VALID vouchers for the pants... I mean past 2 days and it doesn't work. Can't even get through to customer service.
Just entered Vue Leicester Square…
Just entered Vue Leicester Square London. Standing like a lemon waiting to get served. One guy beside me getting served, three staff at the till not bothering. Dear Mr Vue MD - if my team dealt with the public like that they would be sent for re-training and moved back of house. Fortunately it’s a trip down from Glasgow for me, be glad to get back to my Odeon where their priority is customer first.
Vue Castleford
Went to the new Vue at Castleford tonight to see the new Fantastic 4 film with my parents, and it was pretty good! We were sat in the new EPIC screen (screen 7), and just before the film started, a member of staff came in to welcome us to the new cinema and screen! One slight niggle though, and that is that we ordered a large Pepsi Max, yet the lids provided didn't fit the drink! Will defo go again, especially as we get two free tickets per month via Sky!

Popcorn was fresh but the seats were ripped and uncomfortable. Could do with a bit of love, especially for the price of tickets/snacks!
Disabled access to car park poor
The cinema and staff were fine but having parked in disabled bay after the movie there was no access via Sainsburys (Sundays and the lifts weren’t working. I have a blue badge for a reason! No help available.
Very disappointing experience at Vue…
Very disappointing experience at Vue Cinema, White City Westfield.
The seats were filthy, the air conditioning was off during a heatwave, and the toilets were in a terrible state. I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone.
If I could give 0 I would
If I could give 0 I would. After several emails and calls to have refunded and cancelled gift cards that never arrived, one of them was finally used by someone who had obviously obtained them somehow. If vue had acted when I asked that would not have happened. Also I was never refunded the £60. No-one called me back despite my speaking to several agents who told me they would. I lost £60 to them and a whole lot of my time. This is illegal practice and I will never use this company again.
The Vue Cleveleys disgusting staff to my autistic son!!!
The Vue Cleveleys disgusting staff!
My son Harry is 22 years old he is non-verbal Autistic but he is the most happiest person ever! He wants for absolutely nothing! His things are visits to Blackpool tower and the pictures.. ever since we can remember he likes to video credits for himself! Not to upload onto any social media because he doesn’t have any! Or make any piracy’s videos to flock for extra cash 🤣
Unfortunately he had a bad experience at the Vue Cleveleys! while getting his phone out for the film. Yes I understand there are issues with this etc, we have had our trials and tribulations as a parent, 9/10 when explained that he is autistic and confirm he’s not filming to post or sell! these places are 100% supportive!
Well not today!!. They threatened to get the police on his Dad and wanted to take Harry’s phone of him to get the recordings and delete them! Which is a big no!
Unfortunately I was not there and lucky for them really!
I just want to spread abit of awareness about children AND adults with disabilities and not all are visible.. my heart aches how my Harry would have felt especially being surrounded and people watching him, because of the uproar a particular members of staff made. They then apologised and said they do not really understand and never come accross anything like this before.. but that’s okay because you got it out of your system 🙌🏼
it may not matter to most! but it matters to me as Harry’s Mum! Please educate people because he loves the cinema and I hate he’s gone through this today! So massive thank you to The Vue cleveleys! NOT
Refund
I complained to the Vue regarding a recent issue. I received an email saying the they would refund me for the tickets I brought to take my grandson to a film that ended up not showing. Other customers on that day were offered a full refund and was able to choose another film for free. How ever I was not given this choice. After complaining, I was advised by email, I would get a full refund and it would be in my account between 3 & 5 days… Guess what, the refund has not gone into my account, and feel that there was no intentions of refunding my money…😡😡😡
Absolutely unable to contact anyone
Absolutely unable to contact anyone in any way to discuss a booking resulting in a loss of over £30. Automated systems are next to useless, no phone number or email and even webchat not available. Poor service!
Do not bother with a gift voucher.
Do not bother with a gift voucher as Vue do not accept it for on line bookings. I got one for my birthday from my grandson. I tried to book online for £5.99 a seat but they will not accept it, you have to go to the cinema and see if there are any seats available when you get there and if they say yes they charge you £6.99 because you did not book it online and that is your fault even though they will not let you use the voucher online.
Staff was lovely but not worth the price
We got there about 15-20 minutes before the movie. Ordered our snacks which was expensive, I think it was 5.99 for a drink, very small amount of popcorn, and chocolate bar probably that was okish, but then 8 for nachos and dip... I didn't ask for the price and the menu board move so fast, I knew it was be overpriced but not at 8 POUND! That is so rediculous!!!! We then had to wait for the theatre to be cleaned, but the staff was very kind and helpful.
Dirty facilities, uninterested staff.
We went to see The Naked Gun tonight which we all enjoyed. My husband and his friend wanted to take a beer in. They were at the front of a fairly long queue but it still took at least 10 minutes. They changed the cinema we were booked in but didn't make any announcement so we waited to be let in until we had to go and ask. The ladies loos were filthy. There was mould on the tile. One loo was blocked and overflowing. They were dirty and there was no soap. The general, overall feeling was none of the staff cared or had any pride in their work. No wonder cinemas are struggling.
I've been going to Vue Cinema's for…
I've been going to Vue Cinema's for over 15 years, especially this location. However, due to being very busy person working 7 days a week running my own company, I struggle to take the time out of my day to get over to the cinema to catch the latest releases. Also, I felt the films on offer from last year and even to a certain point this year, not warranting enough effort for me to go and see anything due to the convenience of streaming.
Today, I wanted to go view the new 28 Years Later film; directed by Danny Boyle. Although, I've find out today that the gift card is expired, bearing in mind it has never been used. I'd understand if it had been used, and then there's a 12 months period to use the remaining amount on the gift card. I wouldn't agree with it, but there you go. As a result, I do find not only Vue's stance on this hypocritical, but the film industry as a whole.
As they say in a story; there's plot holes in their narrative. They moan and complain that not enough people go to the cinema due to the Marvelization, there being no real movie stars/poor offerings and the rise TV boxsets and home streaming. Yet, they are happy to con you when purchase a product from them, that can only be used in a limited timeframe. Not even Disney would pull a shameless trick like that for one of their theme park tickets!
I hope the head office of not only Vue, see this review but the other Cinema chains, film studios and the UK film industry. I was regardless if the gift card had any remaining balance, next week going to pay and watch the new F1 movie. Not anymore, as I have bitter taste in my mouth over this ordeal. I will wait till it is out on streaming and then eventually purchase used on Blu-Ray; if the films warrants me owning in a physical format.
In conclusion, I want movie theatres to survive, I want the choice to go and see a new release on the big screen. It's the occasion, ambience, escapism and the excitement of viewing a new release. But, you can't pull stunts like this; then complain and question why you're not getting the revenue. I've not even mentioned the prices of a ticket or even the ridiculous cost of beverages... I hope you recognise that you can't bite the hand that feeds you, because the inevitable will happen.
Probably the only cinema I will go
Probably the only cinema I will go to. Seats are the best. I go to Newcastle under lyme vue and the staff are always friendly. I didn't give 5 stars because the toilets could be better and maybe have some more down the bottom so you dont miss so much of the film.
Parking is not the best and I do wish they got more merchandise when the big films come out.
But I would give other cinemas in the area 1 and 2 stars. If they improved the toilet situation and merch then it would be a 4 star. 5 star If they do something special.
Fantastic 4 cups and popcorn buckets would have been excellent!
I love coming here to watch movies
I love coming here to watch movies. Staff are super friendly and very catering towards individual needs.
Great disabled access too. Autism friendly
However the cleanliness needs addressing a little in the screenings.

I recently visited Vue in Cambridge to watch Lilo & Stitch, and I was thoroughly impressed. The picture quality was crystal clear. The seats were really comfy, and the cinema itself was spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and efficient, making the whole experience a breeze. Definitely my go-to cinema now!
