Very disappointed with this company

Very disappointed with this company. We booked a cabin in Tennessee several months ago for late November. We were contacted on October 3 and told our cabin was “off program” and we had to choose another from their list of 3 cabins and we had to make a decision that day. After looking at the cabins and their reviews, we picked Little Bear Lookout but not before specifically asking if the fireplace was working because a previous guest said it was broken. We were told in an email that the fireplace was functional and ready for use. With this confirmed we chose this cabin. The day we arrived the fireplace was broken, sign on it said “out of order”. We called immediately and were told there was nothing to be done, the owner did not want to fix it, we asked if we could have another cabin and were told they could not move us because of the fireplace. Even though I pulled up the email from the company stating it was working. They did not care, very unprofessional. My husband called the next morning and they only offered us a $50 credit. Over $1,000 spent for a cabin in the woods with no fireplace as advertised in the pictures.

Hilton Head Retreats/Vtrips treats…

Hilton Head Retreats/Vtrips treats their property owners like crap. We sold our unit on 6/30/25. Vtrips was well aware of the closing date and still charged us a full year's linen renewal on 6/26/25 at $284. Then they tried to offer us $118 refund based on the "duration of ownership prior to the sale"... A linen renewal is for the upcoming year, not the previous year. Stay tuned

TRAVELERS BEWARE: VTrips Management Failed Us Completely Over July 4 Weekend

TRAVELERS BEWARE: VTrips Management Failed Us Completely Over July 4 Weekend

We reserved a beachfront condo at Shores Club in Daytona Beach for July 4 weekend, expecting a premium stay in a prime location. What we walked into was shockingly unacceptable.

The unit (9813 S. Atlantic Ave, Unit 807, Daytona Beach), managed by VTrips, was in disarray:

All beds were stripped with linens balled up on top
No pillowcases on any pillows
Dirty, wet cleaning rags left in the bathtub
Clean towels stacked on the living room table
No toilet paper
Gritty, sandy floors
Peeling wall plaster and dirt lining the master bedroom sliding doors
For context, we paid $2,119.90, which included $447/night, a $230 cleaning fee, $139 damage protection, a $213 tax, and a $196 service fee. What we didn’t pay for was to do our own laundry until 3 a.m. and hunt for bathroom essentials after a long travel day.

We reported the conditions immediately and submitted 13 photos, which VTrips acknowledged. Their after-hours representative confirmed there was no cleaning crew available and no alternate units, then told us to find a hotel—on a holiday weekend. That wasn’t a solution, it was a shrug.

I am the brother-in-law of the person who made the reservation. She is Latina and does not speak fluent English, so I handled the communications, stayed in the unit, and submitted all documentation. VTrips corresponded with me directly for five days—until I formally requested compensation. Then, suddenly, they claimed they could only speak with the “primary guest.”

Let’s be clear: VTrips had no issue taking our money, engaging with me repeatedly, or receiving photos from my phone. Only when it came time to make it right did they retreat behind policy. Eventually, they refunded the cleaning fee. That’s it. No credit for the lost night, no reimbursement for essentials, no meaningful apology.

VTrips manages dozens—if not hundreds—of units in Daytona and throughout Florida. If this experience is any indicator, they are overextended, underprepared, and unaccountable.

Your beachfront vacation shouldn’t begin with a trip to the store for toilet paper or end with hours of fruitless follow-up.

For travelers: Avoid VTrips. There are better-managed options nearby.
For VTrips: If you'd taken care of this the right way, this review wouldn’t exist.

Misrepresented property in Rockport

Misrepresented property in Rockport, TX. The website pics showed 2 recliners in the living room. My wife and I sleep in recliners so that was the main selling point for us. We got there and none of the pics were the same. There were no recliners and only one sort of reclining chair that was defective. We immediately called management and reported the above and have yet to get a reply (this is 3 days later now). Everything else was fine but this is a deal breaker for us. Will not ever return.

Left in an unsafe situation.

The single most important thing that would keep me from renting this cabin or any other that is represented by VTrips company is the danger we were put in due to company unresponsiveness and total disregard for our well-being. There was a winter storm the night before we were scheduled to depart and while I know the roads are not the company responsibility, the driveway is VTRIPS or the owner responsibility. We contacted the VTRIPS office and told them of the problem and they said there should be salt and a snow shovel. We informed them the county cleared the road but we there was no salt, and we needed it driveway cleared. The only response we received was if we were not out by 1000 there would be additional charges. No one ever called back, nobody came to clear the drive or bring salt. I am almost 70 years old and should not be clearing their driveway, especially at the rates charged. I did make a path the best I could and tried easing down the driveway, my 4x4 suv in hill descent mode immediately lost traction and was sliding fast down the drive. It is important to note the perpendicular road at the end of the drive is narrow and on the other side a drop off into the woods and down the mountain. When I cleared a path, I put the removed snow at the bottom of the drive as a last resort to slow my suv down. I am glad I did because it was just enough to slow me down and allow me to make a slide onto the road and away from the other side drop off. VTRIPS total disregard for our safety and well-being is wrong on many levels. Makes you wonder what else they might overlook or disregard when a family on vacation is looking for a safe environment. Others need to be warned about their disregard for guest safety. There are many good places to stay that will help you and look out for your family safety, unfortunately this does not appear to be one of them.

Vtrips is not a very compassionate organization

Vtrips is not an organization that I will return to. While they were prompt to fix a couple of issues ( the maintenance man was great) there was nothing personal and warm about the company. I have rented the same property, same time period, in St. Augustine, FL for the past 2 years. When I called them to inquire about renting again next year, 2025, I was told it was already rented! No consideration or first right of refusal was even asked. When I asked them why we weren't informed or asked if we would be interested again in renting, all that was said was sorry, it's booked. No customer service for returning customers. It's all about greed and who can get the most money. Very disappointed with Vtrips. Beware of using them.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR VACATION RUINED

I reserved a condo through them in July for a four night stay in Sawgrass FL for the March 2023 PGA tournament. They contacted me yesterday and advised that the owner now wants a 7 night minimum. We can't make that change so our reservation has been abruptly canceled. The closest accommodations are now several miles away in Jacksonville.

Hi, T M! Thank you for telling us what happened, and I'm so sorry you had to adjust your itinerary. It's our responsibility as property managers to follow the instructions of our owner-clients, while serving the interests of our guests at the same time. So we hope you'll give us another chance, as I'm confident we can find common ground.

Vtrips did a great job and we had no issues of any kind so I thought they deserved 5 stars. Apparently they have new owners and managers...

Terrible experience with Vtrips through Jackson Mountain Homes

Booked a 3 day vacation with my daughter in the Tennessee smoky mountains, through Jackson Mountain Homes, now owned by Vtrips. I am local to the area and have taken several vacations through JMH before being bought by Vtrips so I believed that my safety and comfort as a guest would continue to be of great importance. I could not be more mistaken. After arriving at our cabin, I proceeded to drive up a very steep and treacherous driveway, with an embankment dotted with trees on one side and a sharp drop off on the other. I almost reached the top with my Buick when it slid back uncontrollably hanging off the embankment and stopping about 8" before 2 very large trees. The tow truck driver who arrived to winch my vehicle out said that I was much luckier than the vehicle he towed off the embankment on the exact same property 1 month earlier! Being a local and living in the mountains I am quite comfortable with steep, winding roads but this was beyond dangerous. There was no mention of this issue in the description of the property or photos. I wound up spending the next 2 days walking up and down the 300+ ft driveway despite having knee replacement surgery because I couldn't drive my vehicle up to the cabin. When my husband called JMH customer service was non existent. They would not even have the courtesy to have a manager return his call! Is this the way Vtrips handles customer safety and concerns? My husband and I travel frequently in North America and beyond, and the way we are treated by businesses that we deal with is paramount, especially when it comes to our safety. It is shameful that you make erroneous statements that safety is also important but don't even bother to follow-up with customers who have faced potentially serious injuries on property you endorse.
