The lessons on VR Creator Academy are solid if a little dated. The community is Awesome, and I know Justin has reengaged and is working to take things to the next level.

Really well structured and thought out program. I came in as an already well structured programmer, and still learned new things.

I recently went through the "Unity VR" course by Justin Barnett and wanted to share my experience. The course's content was up-to-date with the latest industry standards and practices, which I found invaluable. This academy's course builds fundamental Unity VR development essentials for beginners. It is a well developed course and I highly recommend my friends to take it.

The VR Creators Academy is a really awesome course. The community is great, the lessons are helpful, and the knowledge you get can be applied to everything in Unity, not just VR. If you're a complete beginner, or you have years of experience, there's something for you to learn, and there's like-minded people you can connect with. Additionally, they're always working on new lessons, improvements, and are involved with the community.

VR Creators is a top-notch course and great value for the money taught by the best of the best in VR. The site is easy to navigate and training has superb video and sound quality as the videos are easy to follow.

A handful of items set this Couse apart:
1. Specific sections for Multiplayer, Optimization, Publishing, XR and Oculus Integration. Other trainings barely scratch the surface where VR Creators goes way in depth.
2. Justin does a great job of telling a story when he teaches which keeps the user engaged. As you follow along there are challenges where you can pause the video to try it by yourself before he shows you his solution. I like this method of teaching as I am a kinesthetic learner.
3. Most unique feature is the super friendly community comprised of knowledgeable team members and advanced users who create a positive, helpful and vibrant community.

If you enjoy videos by Justin, Valem and Andrew's videos - then this course is a no brainer!

The community is one of the most exciting part of the learning journey. You do not feel alone when learning.

After trying to learn how to develop VR games from just YouTube, I realized that there just weren't enough resources for me to properly learn. Then I came across the Justin P. Barnett YouTube channel and he instantly became my favorite person to watch and learn about VR development because not only were his videos very high quality, they were also straight to the point and I was able to learn quickly from them. When I found out he had a VR course I was very intrigued so I started researching about It. From my research I found that this course is the only good course on the market that's actually up-to-date. All of the other courses are using older systems, and since VR is advancing so rapidly, what they are teaching becomes obsolete. This course is also very beginner friendly, so even If you know absolutely nothing about game development, he will teach you in a way that makes sense. One other huge thing that I need to mention is the community. Anytime you have a question or want an opinion on something, there will always be somebody replying to one of your comments because there are hundreds of other people in the course learning just like you. All in all, if you want the most up to date, high quality course on the market, with an outstanding community to support you, then this is definitely what you're looking for. Nothing else out there can compete.

After getting most of the way through the example project, I pause, took a week and built my own mini game. I was quite proud of that. That was the first game I made on my own and would have succeeded without the knowledge I've picked up in this course.

The tutorial does a great job of making me understand the basics of designing a VR application from scratch in Unity using the XRI Interaction Toolkit. The videos and steps are very clearly provided and allows me to work at my own pace, and follow the code and design accordingly. Justin does a great job of explaining the concepts and details for each section thoroughly, and highlights what components are important and why.

His knowledge of programming and making scripts is highly organised and I like how he divides scripts between behaviour, service, and manager. This makes the development of any VR app streamlined and organised and it is something that I have also begun taking with me in my development. Overall the course if very enjoyable and I am lookign forward to seeing the other videos and tutorials of developing VR in Unity using Oculus toolkit, etc.

I have a great time in doing the vr development.

As someone who has essentially no experience with VR development this course took me from what is unity (the program that this course utilizes) to being able to walk around and interact with an environment that I designed in my own HMD in a very short amount of time. It is well paced, starting with the basics of game design, but progresses quickly enough to keep you engaged. I would absolutely recommend anyone who is looking to try out VR development to consider this course for the start of their journey.

A few months ago I had a call with Justin about VR development. I had no coding experience, no unity experience and no idea where to start. The creator academy walks you through everything you need to know about getting started and gradually gets more advanced as your skills improve, the community is also extremely helpful and supportive, if you hit a roadblock you will get support and Justin also helps with any questions you may have if you reach out via email. Joining the academy was a great decision for me and I can definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get started with VR dev

It is an ideal course for everyone who wants to introduce or improve the experience in virtual reality. It's hard for me to follow some parts because I can't spend as much time on it as I'd like, but I see that it's very well designed and the parts that don't involve programming are easy.
I don't participate in the VR chats, because my English is not good enough to follow it.
In conclusion, frankly recommended.

The best part of VR creators academy is the community! I think the course modules are really good, well explained but I feel like some more simple stuff could be added like how to access the object's/particle system's/animation's properties in a script, or how to work with cameras to generate a small video. Apart from that I am learning a lot, since I'm a complete noob on Unity and even not fluent in English I'm learning and improving a lot my skills with this course and specially with the community's help. Not to mention there's content being added constantly which is amazing.

This is an amazing and under development course! As an beginner in VR development it inspires and give the tools needed for developing VR applications. The instructors is easy to follow and got good performance abilities that makes it not boring to follow and listen too. The course also gives you an community that is there to assist and push you to harness your new skills. The commitment from the classmates pushes me to keep on developing and brings my joy when sharing my projects. By being able to assist other classmates gives me pride that I learned things from the courses. The driven instructors that shares ideas, news and plans "Game Jams", shows that they take pride in their students learnings and development. I don't regret getting this course!

The course has been a informative and guidance heavy experience whilst also maintaining a sense of genuine connection rather than a teacher-student dynamic.

Over the few months I have been able to speak with Justin about more than just VR game dev and have discussed in lengths about aspects surrounding how to progress in the field and move forward in terms of careers aspects. These talks have covered topics such as portfolios, evaluating studios, interview preparation and building networks. We also covered many of the topics expected in this VR accelerator course including multiplayer frameworks, voice chat integration and more advanced particle system techniques.

Justin's style feels very informal and gives you a lot of freedom to express and discuss. It has never felt difficult to talk to Justin about any problem in the project or ask questions about things surrounding VR dev in general. One to one sessions with Justin are easy to book and the specialized learning tutorials are easy to navigate and follow.

The course has given me tremendous confidence in both my technical ability and my personal development for setting up a career in game dev in general. It's been very validating to show my work and have an industry professional be impressed but also provide relevant feedback and suggestions for solving problems in a way that isn't condescending.

This course is great for devs looking to push their skills further as well as connect with industry professionals.

The course is ideal for anyone who wants to learn or keep up to date with VR software development. Although you can find a lot of information online and learn a lot from the Unity tutorials, it's hard to find information that is current since everything changes so fast in this field (and the Unity VR tutorials are outdated...). So it's definitely been a great investment for me. The recordings are really well paced with just the right amount of information and I have enjoyed learning a lot of things about game development that I wouldn't have learnt otherwise, even though I'm pretty good at searching and finding solutions on the internet. It's just that sometimes you don't know what to search for (or you don't even know that certain methods exist), so learning from the pros is definitely worth the investment!

Well put together, easy to follow and understand. I just started coding games and it helped me immensely. Just finished my own game alone because of it.
