I've traveled worldwide, and with my Vonage phone, people can call my local number wherever I am. It's a personal line, not a business line. The advantage is that you can be anywhere, and people think they are calling you at home.

Vonage automatically bills your credit card for the yearly subscription; however, they do not email, mail or otherwise notify you that your subscription is renewing. I have been a 19 year customer and when I tried to cancel they will not give any type of refund for the unused portion of the bill. I have a $313 yearly subscription that actually cost $493 after they add 'fees'. In my opinion it is bad customer service to have rules in place that ONLY benefit the company without regard for the customer.

I give Vonage Extensions a 5! Every representative is on point since they know their job very well.

This is the second month that we've had the Vonage Home service. It is great. Previously we had a landline but that service was getting poorer and poorer where we only had service on the weekend. Vonage gives us service every day and we are very happy.

obsolute garbage service. Do not get this service it almost bancrupted my practice.
I was one of the first customers and when they reached 300,000 customers my bill went down! It has stayed at a reasonable rate for over 20 years. You need a backup in case you lose your internet, but overall it's great and I'll stick with it.

I have used Vonage for 20 years in the UK and USA.
All companies have issues especially when providing a service but they always fixed any issue I had.
You can connect the phone to any WIFI outlet in the US so it is like taking the home phone with you.
You can add your cell phone so the landline forwards the connection to your cellphone if you are out and about.

BEWARE: Vonage raises rates to the point that I suddenly found myself paying $41 per month instead of the $9.99 rate on the website. They stopped sending monthly account statements in 2018 so they could hide their rate increases. I have been a loyal customer for 22 years, but their refusal to refund the overcharges drove me to cancel my account.
Note: After I posted this, Vonage contacted me through Trust Pilot demanding personal information. They appear to me to be trying to get negative reviews removed. This would inflate their score. Beware!

You call the customer support at 4:30 PM and no one is there they are closed for the day. What about the PST time...we are here. Then they say there is chat. There is no chat option on the web site to click on. Then you get to ask you question to AI. You know WE DO NOT WANT AI. WE WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE DURING BUSINESS HOURS. Preferrably some that can answer our question. Then if you want to post your review you HAVE to share all your personal information with Trust Pilot.

Vonage customer since 2009 - almost 16 years ! I use the Vonage World plan as I have family overseas and service was generally good until 5 years ago ... then the quality of service took a major nose dive.
I started having a recurring issue of one-way audio that affects all numbers called in a particular country. It then fixes itself after a couple of days, then a few months later starts up with a different country, and again fixes itself after a couple of days ... and so on.
The latest iteration though has persisted for two weeks with no resolution in sight. Raised a tech support ticket after the issue didn't fix itself. Was told the issue will be investigated and fixed in 3 business days and I will be notified. I call after 4 business days and was informed the ticket had been closed as "successfully resolved" ! WTF ??!?So - reopened another ticket (takes about 40 minutes to do this on the phone with support) and its been 2 days without any resolution.
Time to find a new VOIP service ...
