The GUI is a bit basic, but they're alright.
The GUI is a bit basic, but only because the sheer number of different sub-accounts overcomplicates its usability. You have to mentally attune yourself to their logic (of course, a node-based system would be the ideal solution, but that's another story), but after a few months of active use, the system is actually quite usable and reliable. I regularly use their bank card for purchases, and I've transferred money both to and from the account. Customer service has always been quick and efficient in assisting me.

Volet Reality Check: 10%–21% Fees and Internal Transfer Traps
Despite marketing "Zero Fees" and "Mastercard Rates," the actual costs inside the account are predatory:
Wallet-to-Card Fee: To spend your own money, you must move it from your wallet to the card, which costs up to 11% ($1.28) for a $10 transfer.
Small Transaction Trap: A $1.00 purchase resulted in a $1.21 total debit—a staggering 21% commission.
Hidden Fees on Grocery Runs: A 95.74 MDL grocery bill (approx. $5.63 value) cost $6.23 USD total.
The Math: Between the stated $0.48 fee and hidden markups, the real commission on a standard grocery trip was 10.6%.
The $10 Barrier: Any operation under $10 is blocked, effectively locking smaller balances in their system.
Verdict: Volet lures users with "free" promises but bleeds balances dry through internal transfer fees and fixed POS charges.

1. “Zero fees” claim
We do not advertise our cards as having zero fees. All applicable charges are clearly disclosed on the card selection page and on our fees page. Card top-up from a Volet.com wallet is charged at 2.5% + 1 USD per transaction. When topping up 10 USD, the fixed 1 USD component will represent a higher percentage of the amount. This does not mean the fee equals 11 percent. It reflects a fixed-fee structure.
2. Wallet and card structure
The Volet.com wallet and the cards are separate products. Your card is issued by a licensed financial institution. Funding the card is a top-up operation and not a free internal transfer.
3. $1 transaction example
A fixed POS transaction fee of 0.48 USD applies. When applied to a 1 USD purchase, the percentage appears high, but it is a flat fee and not a 21 percent commission.
4. Currency conversion
The issuing bank does not apply its own foreign exchange markup. However, merchants or acquiring banks may apply their own exchange rates or dynamic currency conversion. These third-party charges are outside our control. The card performs most efficiently when used in USD.
5. Minimum transaction limits
Minimum processing thresholds are set by the issuing bank and payment networks and are standard across international card programs.
All fees are publicly available before ordering the card. If you believe any transaction was calculated incorrectly, please contact our support team with the relevant details so we can review the case.

We’re sorry to hear that our fee structure felt frustrating. All applicable fees are clearly listed on our website, and there are no hidden charges. Like most fintech platforms, we apply standard service fees that are disclosed before and after registration.
Regarding the inactivity fee: it is $1 per month and applies only after 6 months without any transactions. We notify customers in advance so the fee can easily be avoided by making a transaction or closing the account.
Importantly, the inactivity fee is never charged to accounts with a zero balance. It does not create debt and will not result in a negative balance.
Maintaining inactive accounts still involves operational and compliance costs, which is why this policy exists. If you’d like, we can review your specific case and clarify any charges.
