These reviews are missing the point! I love this!
These reviews are missing the point, i LOVED the service, it feels very hand-crafted, and i loved the little handwritten letter I got with it! So cute! I enjoyed about 95% of the albums i received and I really loved how all of the albums i got were colored vinyl.
Yes, it was a little slow but I am patient and enjoyed getting them scattered throughout my year. (also it wasn't THAT slow, maybe like 1 & a 1/2 ish months per 3 albums) Some people are so negative with these harsh reviews! love what you guys do at this company, keep up the good work!
Ironic Architecture > Music
I asked for a gift subscription to VNYL, as I was under the impression the service was for down-to-earth people who are passionate about music. Instead, they "curated" some high school band's crappy album from 20 years ago, that has no relation to my musical interests at all. Even worse, the note included with the record had no mention of the band, their genre or style, their influences, etc. Instead they wrote about the ironic and vintage house the band lived in during the recording.... Absolute hipster drivel nonsense. FYI just because you work at a record store doesn't mean you know anthing about music.
Scam Artist
This company's goal is to buy-out all companies related to vinyl and basically charge everyone and not provide the service. Recently, Bandbox was bought-out by this company and they find ways to keep charging extra for something that's already been paid for.
They simply find ways to trick the customers into subscribing, making it sound like a good deal. But reality check, you don't get what you pay for and they keep charging you.
Subscribed and didn't like the…
Subscribed and didn't like the curating. Easy, I'll cancel the subscription, right? Wrong!
I left multiple messages, sent multiple emails. Never got a call back as promised, I'd have waited on the line if the call didn't automatically get disconnected. The emails I sent to the listed emails came back as undeliverable....each time.
I ended up going to my bank to dispute a transaction; because I was clearly stuck. Today I got an email from them saying I can't just dispute a charge; here's the fun part...because I never tried to cancel. Oh I did. You best believe. Which is exactly what I told them. At any rate no more transactions are allowed to be charged by them. Stay FAR away.
SCAM
Paid for a 3 month subscription, never received anything but still charged. No one has ever responded to me and I have had to involve the bank to try and get the money back. It’s over £100 so not cheap, have tried emailing multiple times and messaging on Instagram but just ignored. PLEASE AVOID.
Rip off
Rip off. Music is poor. Connection is poor. Start charging you asap without permission even if it’s a gift. Would never use them.
VNYL is a great service, but...
VNYL is a great service, but there are a few things that could be done better. I've loved most of the records they sent, but as other reviews say, some of them don't feel very curated, so that could maybe be improved on.
Another thing is their subscription cancelation process, where you have to call or email about it (or you can use privacy.com cards, which is the easiest way), which takes a while. In my opinion, there should just be a cancel button.
All in all, great subscription, but could definitely be better.
Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible. After filling out the artists and genres I like in detail and including access to my Spotify I was sent 3 albums that weren’t remotely related to anything I said I enjoyed or listened to. After receiving my shipment I tried to cancel my subscription by calling. Nobody answered so they sent me an email to address my concerns. I emailed back to say I wanted to cancel my subscription and after sending multiple emails they still have not replied. Since then I have been charged for two more months and have yet to receive my shipment from the first charge. Their entire service feels like one big scam. You are much better off shopping your local record stores or using discogs to get something you actually want.
When you give someone a gift through…
When you give someone a gift through VNYL, they will make them add a credit card to your account and keep charging them past the gift date. There is no way to cancel your account online. They make you call or email, and no one picked up during business hours.
If it sounds too good to be true
If it sounds too good to be true, it is. This is easily the worst vinyl subscription service. The whole premise is a straight lie. No integrity, no creativity, no worry. They send what they want and make up some half ass rain for what they sent. You can't return or exchange, either. It's like the reverse of city trash services. They bring you the trash instead of taking it and it's yours forever instead of forgotten about
I was given a gift for three months
I was given a gift for three months. They use your credit for future purchases for themselves. I cancelled. They billed me for 4 months, claiming gifts were auto renew.
Do Not use them. This is a scam. I purchased nothing and they billed me $159.66. This was a gift like a gift card The vendor does not re bill it each month. Their records are people you never heard of and probably don't want to hear anyway. Instead of promoting their company thru gifts and having people renew on their own.. They rather steal your money rather than having you join them. They get the gold finger award for worst customer service ever. I received no refund.
Do not use Vnyl they are a rip off!
Worst company ever
Worst company ever. They literally just take your money every month and if you forget to get on their site and “pick your vibe” they ship nothing, collect your money and there is no way to see that money again. It’s a scam. Cancelling is impossible. I finally just signed up a cancelled card so they can’t take my money anymore

it is a scam...lost hundreds of dollars to them...they never answer. i cancelled and they still charged my account.e
This started out as a great product.
This started out as a great product. You pay for your membership, and then you pay for shipping. You get charged the membership fee no matter what. You only pay the shipping once they send your included albums. The problem is you have to remember to login and select a vibe before they ship anything. Once the reminder emails stop coming (I got them for 3 months and then they stopped) you're on your own.
Cancelling is not possible. There is a number to call, which never connects.
As a final negative point I can't currently login to the site because they've got an expired Google API call.
Update 07/05/2023 - I emailed 06/12 requesting a cancellation and received a late reply (7 days?) stating my subscription had been cancelled. I was billed the 20th of every prior month and was not billed in June. It appears I am successfully unsubscribed. (hello @ vnyl . org)
AVOID THIS COMPANY
AVOID THIS COMPANY, they have terrible costumer service I tried to cancel but the only way to is by calling a number and to people with anxiety calling somebody really isn’t the best option. I tried emailing them but after a day of emailing back and forth just to be told I don’t have an active membership when I can log into my account and they’ve taken money from me. They sell records nobody has even heard about and just isn’t even worth the amount of money it is.
They charge you monthly but do not ship records
I reviewed one of my credit card statements earlier this week. I found that for the past several months they have been charging me $40 a month, but haven't sent me any records in months! It's a rip off! I am going to report them to the better business bureau!
How are you still in business???
How are you still in business???

After YEARS of paying monthly because i couldn’t get ahold of anyone to cancel my subscription, someone has finally listened and canceled my subscription. Went to make another attempt at reaching someone to see they’ve finally had enough of taking my money!!! Money I’ll never see again because they made it so impossible to speak to anyone. I’ll trash this company until the day i die
Absolute scam - DO NOT USE!!
Absolute scam. My daughter started to sign up, never completed her subscription and they charged her. Can't get a person on the phone and they are "open" 4 hours a day. I have been emailing customer service with no success for over a week but I am convinced it is a bot not a person. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!
Avoid at all cost
A company passing cheap unheard of vinyls as curated and unique. I did my research, artists most likely give these vinyls away to this company as they are desperate for attention in the industry. Good for them, bad for customers. Avoid at all costs.
