Have not seen a birth certificate.
I sent in my paperwork that you mailed to me to North Carolina on May 22 and still have seen my birth certificate. NC cashed check on on June 1st and after 6 weeks still have not seen my birth certificate. I checked the USPS shipping delivery status and the package has been held in North Carolina since May 30th !!! My guess is the Vital Records has provided the incorrect address on the envelope that I mailed.

I thought of Vital Records right away
I thought of Vital Records as soon as I needed the birth certificate of my father. Their process works well but I feel the process could be explained better. One cannot perform the request 100% on-line. It requires paperwork delivered to your home. I could not track the progress of my request on-line, only the delivery. I was surprised to learn that my father's name was different than I knew. I wish I could talk to someone about it but I guess one can submit a revision which I don't understand. It takes a few weeks to get the product but in a reasonable amount of time.

I sent off to get my husband’s birth certificate from you. After 90$+ only to follow your directions and sent a check that found out you don’t accept ended up going to our local office and paid another 20$ and received it 2 days later no thanks to your business and I’m out the money I sent to you for nothing to show for it

Why can’t this be done online?
The process is easy and the instructions are easy to follow, but the method; 30% online and 70% paper/snail-mail is what I want to criticize.
Why can’t it be 100% online?
I had to dig out my printer and reconnect it for a pic of my drivers license, and find my checkbook that I hardly ever use these days for payment. It did provide me an opportunity to teach my 17 year old how to write a check, so maybe it’s not all that bad?
California made me notarize a birth certificate request document then kicked it back for having the year “YYYY” vs “YY”, so you got them beat by 3 stars.

When I submitted my request for my father‘s death certificate from the state of North Carolina I was told via the website it would take 6 to 8 weeks. It is now July 10 and when I called vital records yesterday I was told they’re running 13 to 18 weeks out. This is ridiculous your service does absolutely nothing to expedite or assist people who need these documents.

I contacted the help desk after discovering that there were typos with the application that was shipped to my home (i.e., middle name typo and missing last name). The customer service representative took the time to make the corrections and emailed the updated application. She was very courteous and went the extra mile to ensure all information on the application was correct. At the end of our conversation, I could tell by the tone of her voice that she was smiling.. thank you for such great customer service!
