Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 2,413 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported issues with products not being as described, arriving damaged, or being counterfeit, leading to frustration and a sense of injustice. The customer service was frequently criticized for being non-existent, unhelpful, and often automated, making it difficult to resolve problems. People also experienced significant problems with refunds, with many stating they did not receive their money back for lost or damaged items, even with evidence. Furthermore, the website itself was a source of dissatisfaction, with users being banned for unclear reasons, often without proper communication or explanation. Delivery services were also a point of contention, with packages getting lost or delivered to incorrect addresses, and the platform often failing to take responsibility. Some reviewers also noted that despite providing clear evidence of authenticity or damage, the platform's support often sided with buyers or provided generic responses.

Automated system cannot offer customer support

Just wasted hours with the idiot automated system trying to arrange to send item to buyer. Still not resolved. No wonder that woman who owns it boasts of making a fortune, she doesn't employ enough people to give proper customer support. Last issue I had was the same. Took days to get through the automation to a real human. I think it was the third one who actually explained to me what to do to resolve my simple issue, having properly read my query. I feel like giving up but I've spent time wrapping it carefully, too and don't like to let the buyer down.

Piteful, woefully inadequate and frankly useless. I don't know what kind of scam they are running but trying to get issues resolved is like trying to pull hen's teeth! Frankly I wouldn't trust them as far as I can spit!!

I got scammed by a Seller on Vinted

I got scammed by a Seller on Vinted. Irene44503.Shoes Significantly Not As Described. Size 7 & actual shoe was too big to stay on my foot- 3 inch gap at back. Seller refused a Return & Vinted released my payment after 3 weeks, despite detailed photos. This is 3rd time I have been scammed on Vinted & the Last. Buyers Protection is a Joke. It is just a Tax for Vinted Profit. No Consumer Protection Whatsoever. UK Consumer Law & DSR are ignored by Sellers & Vinted alike. Customer Service & the Complaint Procedure is a Bad Joke. Reality is Foreign Bots who fob you off for weeks & ignore UK Consumer Laws & DSR. Vinted needs to be closed down as it is a platform for Scammers & Thieves. Avoid it like the plague as Nobody enjoys feeling Ripped Off & I can guarantee you will be.

Scammed me out of €110,-

Sold a €110 item on Vinted. Packaged it carefully, filmed the entire process. Buyer claimed he received an empty box, no unboxing video, just a few photos of an open box.

Vinted's response? They ruled I "didn't package properly" and refunded the buyer. Without ever asking me for my video. Without any evidence from the buyer beyond some photos. No investigation, just a decision.

When I pushed back, I got two copy-paste empathy responses and then a closed ticket.

As a seller, you have zero protection on this platform. A buyer can claim anything, provide no proof, and Vinted will side with them. I have video evidence that was never requested and still didn't matter.

Filing a complaint with the ACM. Would not recommend selling anything of value here.

My terrible experience with Vinted!

My terrible experience with Vinted!

I have sold many items on Vinted for years, and I have 5-star reviews. However, this time, as a Seller, my experience has been a nightmare, and Vinted is not taking any responsibility. I will have to post this on every social media platform and take legal steps against the company. I sold two limited edition Louis Vuitton bags that you can only get as a VIP client, like I am. Vinted made me pack the bags and send it by the courier SEUR . Days after the package arrive in Rimini Italy and the buyer just told me the package was damage when i check the track vinted provided says : damage broken after that the package dispair and they refunded the buyer without taking any responsability or return anything to me that i will call this fraud and not just that this means vinted let every seller withour any protection cleaning their hands but i will report this to the financial authorities because this means they no protect the seller. I will be updating regularly on this case and will post all the pictures I have to prove the package was perfectly packaged. I even have a video of the courier taking the package, but not even that 5000 euros in bags, and no answer or any responsibility from vinted they just want you to receive a package that is not tracking anywhere and lose your rights and take your money. Will be posting a video with all the coutures and answers from vented and Seur all seems more a fraud that band sell.

I have been a loyal Vinted seller and…

I have been a loyal Vinted seller and buyer for many years, spending significant money on the platform. Here is my honest experience:

AS A BUYER: I have received multiple fake and low-quality items. In every case, the return was at my own expense and Vinted's buyer protection was useless. I lost money silently rather than fight a broken system.

THE FINAL STRAW: Last year I bought a Marc Jacobs bag on Vinted as a birthday gift for my daughter. Vinted processed and completed the transaction without any issue. This year, when I tried to resell that SAME bag, Vinted's automated bot flagged it as counterfeit. The platform that sold it to me was now calling it fake. I was humiliated in front of my daughter and my 50+ loyal customers.

THE PROCESS: I submitted full proof — purchase confirmation, photos, labels, everything. I was met with automated responses, bot replies, and a 120-hour wait. When a human finally responded, they issued a "final decision" refusing to acknowledge the evidence. After I escalated with a formal legal complaint referencing the DSA and ARN, the block was suddenly lifted — but with a 30-day penalty recorded on my account as if I had violated their rules.

I have paid Vinted for years through commissions and promoted listings. This is how they treat long-term, verified, 5-star sellers.

I have filed a formal complaint with ARN (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden) and Konsumentverket. Vinted's automated systems are damaging innocent sellers with zero accountability.

I sold the item in perfect condition…

I sold the item in perfect condition and, at the buyer’s request, shipped it very quickly because he urgently wanted to receive it before Thursday for a weekend trip. I acted in good faith and made the extra effort to ensure fast delivery for him.

The buyer received the item before the weekend, used it, and then returned it on Monday in a clearly dirty and used condition. Only after using the item did he claim that he had “received it like that,” which is completely false.

This situation is unacceptable. Sellers should not be exposed to buyers using items temporarily and then returning them in worse condition while falsely claiming the issue already existed. The timeline itself raises serious concerns.

What is even more disappointing is Vinted’s handling of the case. Despite the obvious inconsistency and the visible deterioration of the item after return, there was no meaningful investigation or real seller protection. The responses felt generic, superficial, and lacking proper assessment of the evidence provided.

I have sold through other platforms, including Vestiaire Collective, and despite their higher fees, they handle customer issues far more professionally and fairly. This experience unfortunately highlights a major difference in the quality of customer support and seller protection standards.

At this stage, I have completely lost confidence in the fairness and reliability of Vinted’s seller protection process.

Absolutely terrible customer support…

Absolutely terrible customer support experience.

Vinted permanently blocked my account and has been withholding over €300 of my balance from completed sales for more than a month. Despite repeated emails, I cannot get a clear answer about how my money will be returned.

I am not trying to recover the account — only the funds that belong to me from already completed transactions.

Support responses feel automated, dismissive, and designed to avoid answering the actual issue. There is no transparency, no timeline, and no meaningful communication.

Users should be very aware of the risk of suddenly losing access to both their account and their balance with little to no real support provided afterward.

Not all as it seems as a first time user.

I recently made my first purchase on Vinted. I ordered a blazer and paid. The buyer said she’d post it after her weekend way. I then got a message on the Tuesday to say the order was cancelled. The seller then uploaded the item for re sale. I was unable to contact the seller and unable to re order it. So I’m out of pocket until the refund arrives and this seller can just re sell it. Vinted contacted and they were awful! As a first time user I’m now very wary!

Say NO to Vinted

Attempted to pay for the product and it was denied. No real customer service - only auto bots. Received an in-app email that said that they needed a picture of my ID from my license or passport. That was a scam alert for me. No used clothing is worth the risk of being scammed. NO THANKS. Say no to Vinted.

Random account ban and poor comms

Account was randomly banned after over 2 years buying and selling. The reason given was

“we have reason to believe that your Vinted account has been associated with activity, which violates our Terms & Conditions”

I submitted an appeal as I believed it must have been an automated error since I’ve never used Vinted for anything illegitimate.

When I chased for a response a few days later I was told

“Thank you for the message,

I understand that you were hoping for a different outcome, Unfortunately, we are unable to make exceptions to our standard procedures. Please know that I did everything within my power to help.”

I was never even given an outcome. When pressing further to try find out what the outcome was (assuming ban upheld) and to understand where I may have fallen foul of any rules, the chats are just ended with no reply.

To be quite frank, I’m absolutely gobsmacked that Vinted who I believed were a large legitimate company would treat their customers this way. I wasn’t suprised when I came on TrustPilot and a saw how many negative review from people on similar positions there were.

I would advise anyone to avoid this platform.

Customer Service at Vinted is non- existent

I have sold a few things on Vinted with no problems but recently I had a bad experience. I purchased a pearl headband from in mid March which wasfor my daughter’s wedding on 10th April. I had to buy something else because it hadn’t arrived in time for the wedding. I went on holiday shortly after and was informed it was at the local Evri store, but I was still on holiday. When I returned I went straight to the shop only to be told it was not there. I contacted the seller but she said she hadn’t received it. Vinted now tell me that it was out of time and the money has been refunded to the seller who now tells me she doesn’t have the money. There is something seriously wrong here! I didn’t receive the hairband within the correct time frame and I was still away when it allegedly arrived.
Vinted charge a fee to protect your purchase and your money but I don’t have either and I suspect the seller now has both.
Vinted have been very unhelpful and I would think twice before using them again!

This platform is a complete scam and a…

This platform is a complete scam and a waste of time. I ordered new branded sneakers as a birthday gift for my son. What arrived was disgusting old, torn, dirty shoes of a completely different color and wrong size — probably taken straight from the trash.I immediately contacted Vinted support, sent dozens of clear photos, explained the situation in detail, and showed that the seller is denying he sent it. Their "Buyer Protection" turned out to be nothing but empty words.Instead of helping, they have been endlessly feeding me copy-paste responses: "We contacted the seller and are waiting for their reply", asking for the same photos over and over again, and sending automatic 48-hour reminders threatening to close the case if I don't confirm "everything is fine".All deadlines have passed long ago, and the issue is still unresolved. Their support does not solve problems — they deliberately drag out time with useless replies hoping the buyer will give up.Vinted is not a safe marketplace. It is a gathering place for scammers and fraudsters who send garbage instead of the advertised items, while the platform protects the criminals and leaves honest buyers with losses.

£130 Lost Due to Vinted Dispute Handling & Lack of Seller Protection

I’m honestly shocked by how poorly Vinted handled this dispute and how little seller protection actually exists when something goes wrong.

I sold a ski set for £130 which was correctly described in the listing. The item itself was labelled XXS–XS and this was clearly stated in the description. Due to Vinted’s category limitations, I selected XS in the dropdown because there was no XXS–XS option available.

The buyer later opened a dispute claiming the item was “significantly not as described” due to sizing. Unfortunately, I did not see Vinted’s messages within their 2-day response window, and because of this the buyer was automatically refunded.

However, once I became aware of the situation, I contacted Vinted immediately and provided proof that the sizing in my listing accurately reflected the label on the item itself. Despite this, Vinted refused to properly address the evidence I provided or explain what evidence, if any, had been used to support the buyer’s claim.

What is most concerning is that:
• Vinted refunded the buyer without enforcing a return of the item
• I was left without BOTH the item and the money
• Vinted never provided me with any evidence supporting the buyer’s claim
• They repeatedly ignored my requests asking how the decision had been reached
• They failed to explain why a return was not enforced before issuing a refund
• They closed the case while my questions remained unanswered

Their entire justification was essentially: “you did not respond within 2 days.”

Apparently sellers are expected to meet a strict 2-day response window or risk losing both their item and payment. Yet Vinted themselves then took WEEKS to respond to my escalations and ultimately stopped replying altogether.

The irony is unbelievable.

I sent multiple polite and detailed follow-ups through both email and in-app support asking:
• what evidence was used
• why the return wasn’t enforced
• how this aligns with “seller protection”

I never received proper answers. Just scripted responses repeating policy with no actual investigation or human understanding of the situation.

The most frustrating part is that I DID provide evidence supporting my side, but it seemed completely ignored. That is genuinely concerning for a platform handling financial transactions between users.

Even more confusingly, when I later spoke to the buyer directly, they never once mentioned the sizing issue to me. This left me questioning whether Vinted had actually requested sufficient evidence from the buyer before issuing the refund in the first place.

Thankfully, the buyer voluntarily returned the item to me privately after the dispute was closed, despite Vinted originally telling them they could keep it. The buyer actually behaved far more reasonably and helpfully than Vinted support did.

This experience has completely destroyed my trust in Vinted’s seller protection and customer service. Policies are one thing, but refusing to properly review evidence, refusing to answer direct questions, and then closing communication entirely is unacceptable for a company operating at this scale.

Sellers deserve actual protection and actual human support, not copy-and-paste responses that ignore the facts of the case.

Worst customer service ever

I have been selling online for years and I have never seen such a bad customer service.
I sent a package protected with bubble wrap, carton and plastic wrap.
It was damage during transit. It took them a month to decide that my packaging was too weak so I won't get my money back.
I have proof with pictures of the packaging respecting their guidelines and they still won't refund me. And absolute scam l

Vinted Support Restricted My Account when I asked why they weren’t following their own return policy

Vinted restricted my account for “Commercial Selling” when I questioned why they weren’t following their own return policy.

Please be warned BEFORE signing up on Vinted.com. I know with the ads and commercials they’re putting out, new, unexpecting people are going to find out the hard way this is a predatory, uncaring, unethical site. Vinted wants it to seem like a safe platform like Poshmark and Mercari, but in terms of customer service, seller protection, even buyer protection, it is NON-EXISTENT. It is a paradise for scammers, and Vinted knows, allows, even supports it. They do NOT even follow their own terms and conditions!

I used to use Vinted back in 2023, until a Vinted Customer Support rep tried to get me to send them a photo of my debit card and full card information (number, expiration, CVV) to them as “verification” in order to help me with a problem I had. (I now see they have did this to MANY users which is insanely SCARY!) I reported it, and the only thing I heard back was “action was taken”. My post blew up on Reddit with the screenshots, you can still find it. Afterwords, they restricted my account for “commercial selling” which is a common thing they do to their users. For the record, if selling second hand items around my house is commercial selling, guess I’m guilty.

I stupidly joined back in 2026, hoping they had changed, but they have only gotten far, far worse than I ever could had imagined.
I had a user from the United Kingdom purchase a pair of brand new in box Nike Kids shoes from me. When they received the order, they stated the shoes didn’t fit their daughter. I emailed Vinted Support asking if returns due to fit were allowed. What they replied with was nothing at all what I had asked nor expected. They sent me instructions on how to refund the buyer without them returning the item (to save Vinted return shipping costs) and if I wanted the item (my brand new in box Nike kids shoes) back, to agree to a return. I was flabbergasted! According to their return policy, returns due to style and fit are NOT allowed. The buyer messaged me stating Vinted instructed them to open a SIGNIFICANTLY NOT AS DESCRIBED case against me, when everything was described, admitted multiple times by the buyer themselves that they would keep the order if needed! I had messages, screenshots, all the proof I thought I needed to show I listed the shoes at their correct size, multiple messages from the buyer stating the shoes were “absolutely” fine, “lovely trainers”, their daughter was just a size bigger, and even under the wrongly filed case Vinted Instructed her to file, she admitted they were fine, that her daughter was just a size bigger.

Even with all this, Vinted was giving her almost over a week to “change what she put” but the buyer did the right thing and cancelled the return, seeing how unethical Vinted is themselves. Then, “coincidentally” right after Vinted restricted my selling privileges for “commercial selling” when I dared to question their decision from their own return terms and conditions. My point by posting my experience is, this would had never, ever, happened on Mercari or Poshmark. You are not protected as a seller, and they WILL punish you for stating their own terms and conditions. Also, they won’t answer you what item, or why they accused you of this “commercial selling” but as hundreds of others have posted having similar experiences and falsely being accused of this, it’s all their way to punish you if you dare call them out. I uploaded receipts of these items, over 3 year old receipts I paid full retail price for MULTIPLE upon MULTIPLE items, that I had listed for under 75% off of what I paid, yet they still their ground, even with solid proof I had, that I was buying these items to resell.

They are careless, a joke of a company, a wanna be Poshmark and Mercari, without the morals or ethics of them. You can find out the hard way, or take mine and thousands upon thousands of other people who have been done wrong by them advice. I am one of the very very few lucky ones they didn’t steal my pending balance like they have so many others. Please, beware.
