Don't go near vhi swiftcare

Don't go near vhi swiftcare. They missed a tibial fracture in my leg, let me leave with a soft bandage when I should have had a cast or brace...then they missed a broken bone in my sons ankle!

Do not waste your money on VHI multi-trip travel insurance policy. Had a covid test couldn't travel and I had it validated by a doctor and had the claim rejected.

Charged Without Consent - Terrible Customer Service, Big Delay-Not Recommended

Very bad service. Long waiting times. The customer service is not helpful at all. When you call, they ask you to email; when you email, they won't respond; when you use the chat, they ask you to call.

I was part of a group scheme from my employer. After I resigned from the company, I thought the policy would be cancelled automatically, but they charged me 139 euros. I tried calling, emailing, and using the chat service, spending hours with no response.

Many options are not available on the website/app. I've used Laya before; they are more straightforward and have no hidden charges. I wouldn't recommend anyone using Vhi. The claims process for Vhi is cumbersome and has long waiting periods.

The best customer service

The best customer service I've ever seen in Ireland, they are so so nice, helpful, never had an issue with them, I don't know if I was just lucky to come across those nice agents but every time I called I was shocked as to how polite and kind they were.. spoke to Orla in reviews today and she was brilliant..
the app is also great and easy to use, can't fault them

I submitted a claim for a medical…

I submitted a claim for a medical expense via the app for quite a significant amount, never received the money and the app didn't tell me the status of my claim. I rang up only to be told that I would have needed to submit a claim form via post together with some receipts. Never did the app make me aware of it, nor did I receive a phone call or email to inform me of this. They were just trying to get out of paying me, I'd say. The customer service was ok, but the general approach to claiming expenses is so bad and the app is simply useless!
I had been with Laya before and had a much, much better experience! Would NOT recommend!

Swiftcare 360 clinics, appalling wait times

We've had 3 visits in one week, told to come back 3 days later for review and each time you wait, and wait and wait!!!!
Wait for all patients 2-4 hours, for maybe a 5 minute conultation with doctor.
10 hours spent waiting over 3 visits this week with my child

I decided to make use of VHI’s…

I decided to make use of VHI’s counselling service and I booked a call with a counsellor. First off the sound quality of the phone line was bad, secondly I could hear lots of people speaking in the background - it was like a call centre (and it’s based in the UK, I was expecting an Irish based service). I told the individual that I wasn’t comfortable talking to them because of this. I was offered another session with someone who “works from home” so it will be quiet. But when I got off the call I realised that I wasn’t offered the individual’s name or qualifications. I literally could have been taking to anyone. Not a pleasant experience.

Zero empathy and worst customer experience from VHI

Very poor experience trying to discuss a declined Day to Day claim this morning. Staff member A______ so uncooperative. Claim declined due to insufficient information which had already been supplied and it took them two weeks to process the claim. Made an official complaint, but my previous experience is that they don't follow their own complaints procedure, so not expecting a reply.

Not a good experience at the VHI 360…

Not a good experience at the VHI 360 clinic in Carrickmines. At each stage of interaction with the employees I found them to be lacking empathy and insincere, especially the doctor who wouldn’t even give me a chance to talk and was arrogant. He had me in and out of the consultation room in about 3 minutes. All and all a depressing experience

Not Swift

Not a good experience at the Swords Swift Clinic. Spoke to nurse by phone and he told me to go to the Swift Clinic in Swords, did not tell me that they have a wait time from between 3 and 5 hours today. Attended the clinic and found that out. The lady at the reception told me I could pay €75 to see a nurse and then I could go home and come back and see the doctor as I was sick. Paid the money only for the nurse to tell me that I still had to wait and that she could give me an ECG and paracetamol . No idea why an ECG. So I looked for my money back and advised that someone would call me back regarding a refund. I wasn't expecting a call back and it never came. So this morning I wasted around 2 hours time between travelling and waiting and seeing a nurse for absolutely nothing except the cost of €75. There is nothing Swift about it. I actually think I've been less time in Beaumont A&E than 5 hours. I also put a review on 2 star review Google and got a pathetic standard reply back, they obviously did not read my review., so I will now update to a one star like this one. I would avoid VHI and just go with Laya. They had a wait time of 1 - 1.15 hours this morning and are honest about it. Also a far cheaper provider. Only reason I'm with VHI is that it's a company policy

A complete waste of time and money.

A complete waste of time and money.
Never again.
I came out as wise as I was when I went in with no diagnosis and referred to my GP for bloods because they don’t do bloods there.
Far as I can see it’s a way to shake down the VHI members for money.
Don’t waste your time and money.
As regards time they should delete the word Swift from the title because it’s any but swift.
A 3 hour wait and €75 for no diagnosis .
What I got was a handshake and an apology that they couldn’t do more for me…

You pay 1200 euro a year but get very little in return. Very few clinics and option they are associated with or where you are covered are in the Midwest region. Currently looking at having to travel 2 hours to get a ct scan with one of there listed clinics despite CTS being available locally in Limerick.

My daughter Attended the allview vhi…

My daughter Attended the allview vhi Dermatology clinic had to pay 299 before attending on the day only saw a nurse who did a scan and photos which took about 15 minutes in total. she then received assessments and prescription and was told to attend Carrickmines vhi clinic Dermatology wanted to see her was charged another 75 euro
For less than 10 minutes consultation to be told nothing can be done which they could have told her over the phone. Today received a letter from vhi who also paid allview another 314 euro for the second consultation so they got 688 euro in total this is crazy and the never said they were claiming anything from vhi and vhi just paid it no question asked. It would appear vhi clinics are not transparent.

I tried to set up for dental claims on App. Hugely frustrating. Verification code not send after hour despite several attempts.
I guess if you can't set up the app for claims you won't make the claim. Feels like sharp practice. Totally unacceptable.

If you live in Dublin or Cork then great. But unless for us living in the rest of the country. Medical screening is only preformed in Dublin or Cork VHI centres, no assistance given if you want to use a medical facility in your area. All other Health insurance providers will provide subsidy to use your local health centre.

VHI very slow to pay on receipts, LAYA very quick!!

Up until 2024 the refund of claims through snap and send was great. You would submit your claim and then receive your refund within a week. For the last two claims I have put through I have been waiting for over a month. VHI please sort yourself out this is very poor!!

I would also like to add that my children are with LAYA and when I put in receipts for them they are paid super quick within a week but usually days. I will be switching to LAYA at renewal. VHI need to pull their socks up!

Rude and unprofessional

The lady at reception, Kathrine, was extremely rude and condescending, corrected me multiple times about semantics that didn’t matter and complained about other patients. Very unprofessional and I did not feel welcome at all.

I recently attended the dermatology section inVHI health centre Carrickmines.
I understand that delays happen and systems crash, but there is a” put up with it,it’s not my fault”attitude from reception.
No effort for positive communication with the customer no apologies barely a thank you when money was paid.
The customer should be made feel valued not made feel like an inconvenience

Dreadful App.

App not working and IT support only by email. Three weeks later I am no further than an automatic response from them. Irish Life Health app works like a dream. Sorry I left them this year!

Terrible app and terrible service

Terrible app and terrible service. Haven't had many issues before but as of the late I find my emails are being ignored when I send them and the app does not have an online Chat feature anymore. Feel like I am having to jump through rings to claim money back from my treatments. It has been almost 2 weeks now. The snap & send feature is also diabolical since it only lets you add one photo per claim. The more claims they deny the longer it takes to get your money back. Customer experience is not good at all and it should not take up to 5 days to get a response. Whats the point. Not good at all. Will looking elsewhere when it comes to time of renewal.
